Billie has Synesthesia and an INCREDIBLY creative brain. A big part of her process for this album and I'm sure others was to draw inspiration. She is pure vibes and even created a whole experience where every room was what her synesthesia associated the songs with. Different colors, textures, temperatures, smells, shapes, and numbers for every song/room. It's really interesting to see her bring those feelings to life. My best advice when listening to a Billie album is noise cancelling headphones, first song to last, a little mary jane, and just vibe. A lot of her stuff is just floaty and vibey but also "I wanna drive 100 down the highway with the windows down". Give her newest album a listen! Her and her brother, Finneas'(He also makes great standalone music!) production have always been insane but they absolutely blew every other album of theirs out of the water with HIT ME HARD AND SOFT.
During the creation of this album she was figthing depression, she actually write "listen before i go" because she had suicidal thougths. Instead of doing it she wrote this song. I love her so much for this song and her ability to write the problems of our society like global warming and teenagers problems!!! (sorry if i made any mistakes i'm french)

You should watch her concert from that album there's one time where she burst into tears during that song and it was so sad.

Oh boy, I can def give some recommendations for pop albums: AURORA - What Happened To The Heart (Aurora has an insane voice, Billie got inspired by her) Raye - My 21st Century Blues + her new single Genesis Lizzy McAlpine (if you want emotional songs with very good writing, latest album Older is very good) Halsey is gonna come out with a new album: The Great Impersonator. Can definitely recommend her as well. Halsey - If I Can't Have Love, I Want Power (her best album so far, but it's more pop/punk grunge) Maybe The Weeknd albums? dude let me tell you. i've been listening to billie eilish since ocean eyes (presumably her first song). seeing the progress she's made has absolutely blown my mind. i myself am a singer and she's my biggest inspiration. i want to have an ear like her and have the voice of an angel just like her. watching her grow and blossom has not only been a pleasure and honor, but a learning curve for myself. i've always dealt with heavy depression, adhd, and a few others. her music made me feel like somehow she was listening and making this music to help others like me and maybe even her (which come to find out, yes she also dealt with depression, anxiety, tourette's, and others that i may not know.) i love her and she saved my life 🙏. ALSO FINALLY SOMEBODY WHO LOOKED UP THE ACTUAL MEANING OF WISH YOU WERE GAY. everyone at the time assumed it just meant that SHE was gay (turns out they weren't so wrong after all) BUT STILL. thank you for educating yourself and not just assuming LMAO.
