I made the chickpea Tika masala today and it was FABULOUS!!! I made 2 subs. Used pasta (plain tomato sauce) instead of marinara cuz I wasn’t sure about adding those spices in here. Also at the end I used a can of coconut milk instead of the cashew cream cuz I wasn’t sure lazy. It really was soooo good!!
I made the curry tonight. The only changes I made was sautéing the onions and cut the salt in half. Best curry I’ve ever made. Absolutely delicious. Will make again and again.
To me, summer is the best time to use my slow cooker. Living in the hot, humid south, I avoid anything that heats up the kitchen in the summer. Looking forward to trying these!

This is genius! I super appreciate this, because I usually have to make 2 Dinners, one for me and one for the meat eater. Usually I never end up cooking for me. Thanks so much!
My husband will eat the wfpb but if he goes too long without meat he starts complaining and being all whiny 😂 I try to just add a portion of meat to his serving of whatever I'm having but if it doesn't work out that way sometimes I run out of steam to cook myself anything after cooking for him, I also have two picky kiddos aged 2 and 4 and usually I have to make them separate things too just to get them to eat 🥴
Omg. Same here! By the time I've done so much work on the meat meal I'm just too burned out to make another entirely different veggie meal. Then I usually just make myself a sandwich 😞
My instant pot pie customization involves enough mushrooms to choke a hobbit, but I get that might not be kid friendly for dinner. All of these look delicious!
@spicyavo3929 my parents had some strict "try everything" rules with one exception. I started to turn up my nose at a bowl full of sautéed mushrooms, and, as one, they said, "Good! More for us!" Changed my mind right quick. 😃
Thanks for sharing these recipes. I tried your take on tikka masala and sauteed the onions and aromatics prior to adding to the crockpot, which I believe really helped the flavors develop. Keep the ideas coming!
Traditional Indian cooking often calls to toast the dry spices and seeds. It amps up the flavors a bunch. Since marrying an Indian and my mother-in-law teaching me that step, I’ve used it with a bunch of different cuisines. That being said, I think I’d be relegated to sleeping on the couch if I used marinara to make tikka masala. 😅
These recipes look great! I'm wondering if soy curls would work in place of the jackfruit because they also have the texture of chicken and taste amazing! If you're wanting future ideas a video of soy curl recipes would be so awesome 😎
Thank you so much. I have lots of cans of Jack Fruit that someone gave me. I wasn't sure what to do and knew it didn't have protein. You came to the rescue!
Try adding better than chi'ken bullion. It can give a very chickeny flavor. Also you could add BBQ sauce and better than beef bullion for a BBQ Brisket type sandwich.
Shredded chicken dish is in the crockpot right now for lunch. Smells yummy not even cooked yet. It is a little dry but I'm assuming it will moisten up as the onions cook? I'm thinking for variety top with barbecue sauce :) I'll post how it turns out.
I’m not vegan, but I like to make vegan recipes sometimes. This looks delicious. My daughter is highly allergic to cashews, so I would use coconut milk like you suggested.

I have to add this: I got your veggie chopper. Omgoodness!!! What a difference it made! Thank you a million times!!! It cut my veggie prep in half!!! Literally! 😆😆
Perhaps a dumb question: can you make these in the Instant Pot? It does have a slow cooker function, but I havent' used it. Will it work just like a crock pot? Big thanks for these recipes.
Really enjoying these recipes and shared them with my daughter 😊. One issue. You put too much yeast and too much salt in that roll recipe! Prob need 2 tsp of each TOPS! You should also let them rise about 20 min after shaping. THEN BAKE.
Would you please add how many ounces are in your cans of jackfruit? I buy it in really big cans and need to know how much of it to use. Thanks for the recipes! I'm excited to try them!

Someday! I need my twins to start going to kindergarten so I can have more time. Right now I try to squeeze in all my TH-cam work while they are in pre-school.
I am wondering if you add greens (peas/spinach/any vegetable) to cook for 4 hours, won’t they look yellow and over-cooked at the end? What’s the alternative; can I add greens in the last 5 minutes?
I don’t like cashews. Do you have to put nuts in it? Do you have to use the maple syrup in there and applesauce in the wheat rolls? I don’t like sweet, hot rolls, and a lot of the restaurants have started adding a lot of sugar to their hot rolls and they are awful to me. Thank you.
For someone with a jackfruit allergy in the family. What can be used in replace of it or just use tofu for the whole dish? Thank you for all the dishes you share.
I’m really interested in the American take on Asian cooking or it’s European variation (like Tikka Masala ). I think you’re doing amazing putting such healthy food for your family ( far from usual in your country I think)? I’m learning from you after many years of plant munching.
