Hi Luke what a great Diggle Diaries.Liked the Freighliner 70 on the tanks . We have Colas 70s and 56s on tanks from the refinery at Grangemouth. You probably saw it at Carlisle . Looking forward to part 2
The Mrs and I love your channel so much that we’ve decided to visit Diggle at Easter (Good Friday to Easter Sunday). For the railway and the landscape, before hitting the East Lancs for a Sunday dining train. Got ourselves some accommodation for a few nights on the canal. If you fancy a pint at the hotel or any other suggested hostelry to chat railways for a bit we’d be up for that. Looking forward to seeing the land of Diggle and its picturesque railway in the flesh 🚂👍🏻.
That’s fantastic mate, hopefully the weather will be on your side, it’s a lovely walk up the canal. Make sure to pay a visit to see the signal box before it’s gone behind a nice ice cream parlour (Grandpa Greenes). If we’re not away you’ll no doubt catch me in the Hotel for a nice pint 👍🏻 And thanks so much, means a lot that you enjoy the channel to that extent. All the best, L
Thanks for the local knowledge, really useful, and will definitely check out the signal box. Sad they’re disappearing. Will certainly say hello if we spot you at the bar 👍🏻. Love the channel. Cheers!
Excellent, some great shots, I saw 37057 going throgh Levenshulme on the morning of the 7th, checked when it was due back, planning to film it, but it ran 170 minutes early! oh well, glad you got it. Thanks.
Excellent vid again Luke, really admire GBRF for all the interesting liveries they come up with! And I had no idea TfW were running 67's to Swansea - I thought they never ventured further west than Cardiff. Shall have to get out and try to see one when the nights get lighter! Looking forward to the upcoming videos!
Cheers Keith, yeah have to hand it to them at least they’re trying to make 66’s a bit more interesting. Had to confirm the 67 but yeah my realtime screenshot from the day indeed says Swansea!
@@DiggleJunction Yes, I checked Nat Rail & RTT and indeed there are 67 workings into Swansea, but in the dark on weekdays at the moment. Surprisingly there are weekend workings too, in daylight on Sunday - but tomorrows have a bus replacement...!!! 😂
Superb footage, can't wait for more. Love the drone shots. I am considering investing in one myself, although living in a densely populated city will only give me limited opportunities to fly it, and practise using it as well of course. All the best, John.🙂👍👍👍👍
Honestly this is a great video, heard about your channel but watching a video for the first time. Really do like the clips that were filmed, the drone footage of the Class 69 was nice.
Hi Luke, Colin from West Bromwich/Tame Bridge here. Just watched your latest video Diggle Diaries. I think I was one of the first to see it. Great stuff as usual! Thanks for posting. I really loved it. I look forward to all the stuff you have to post over the next few weeks. Cheers and Regards Colin👍👍
Cheers mate, I’ll pass that on to our drone pilot Will. Got an amazing one coming up of Britannia and Sir Nigel Gresley steaming down the west coast mainline.
Enjoyed your video,as a ex Steam fireman/driver still cannot get used to diesels, main line at bottom of garden, Worcester to Birmingham, never seen class 70, but SVR two mile away, they have one coming to diesel gala.Kind regards
Cheers mate, appreciate that. Handy living so close to such a good pres line I bet. Hope you enjoy the shots of Britannia and SNG when I can get that video out.
Thanks a lot Luke enjoyable as ever, really looking forward, as to what’s coming. Doncaster should be good this coming Wednesday 20/3 a Class 86 on a rail tour, is coming through.
Thanks a lot Tim glad you enjoyed it. Not sure if you saw my reply in chat yesterday as I was away from the stream but really happy to hear of the news of your Mum, really great. Wish you and her all the best. L
What a great variety Luke, definitely plenty of action there. Earlier this evening my wife and I were watching Canal Boat Diaries, which featured shots of Diggle as Robbie Cummin went through the tunnel to Marsden! Re the electrification, there doesn't seem to be much clearance under the bridge between the hotel and your place, will they have to change things to make it work?
Thanks a lot mate. Yeah I see a lot of canal boat stuff from here, I gather it’s a bit of a bucket list challenge for boaters. So many locks to get up to it before you even tackle the tunnel. I don’t think they’ve got much of an idea yet but I imagine they’ll have to replace it.
Thanks Geoffrey, can always rely on the diaries to fill you in 😂👍🏻 it’s running a different circuit this week but hopefully we’ll get something again next.
Cheers mate, yeah they do bounce a lot over those points. There’s a temporary speed limit for locos over them at the moment so I’m guessing it’s worse than normal. I’ll try and get a closer shot in the next vid
Love the channel lots of train variety, lovely scenery. Bash the 69s .anyway up to carslie hope you bump into another youtuber that films up there, keep up the good work 👍.
Thanks a lot Kryss. I do always seem to get a dog playing around, you can usually tell when I take mine with me as she pulls the lead/tripod just as the train comes into shot 😂
Superb footage Luke heres to the next one
Thanks a lot Tony 👍🏻
Excellent episode Luke.
Cheers Peter, much appreciated 👍🏻
2:45 *Colas 37, can't believe I missed that one 🙄
Well done Luke, great drone shot and good variety of locos.
Thanks a lot mate 👍🏻
Great footage, Especially the NMT featuring me 😂
You’re shot was probably miles better than mine mate, I forgot until the last minute and ran up from Tesco. No tripod, no mic no nothing lol.
@@DiggleJunction Oh no... Well mine wouldve been pretty good if my camera would let me export it 🙄
@@ThePennineWanderer Not the ideal situation mate haha 😅

Cheers Les. I did catch it a few times through the night up there, was a Colas 70 that particular night. Great variety up there.
It is all about content, content, content Luke and you give us a wealth of action with more to come! Top vlogger 👍 love the drone footage of class 69.
I do my best Andy so cheers for that 👍🏻
Cheers Luke. Taking her out for lunch today. :)
Great stuff mate, I suppose a spice of life won’t quite cut it for that!

Cheers mate 👍🏻 always like seeing that livery on freight workings, looks great with the colourful DRAX wagons too.
Good variety on this one Luke. I got 70009 at Bamber Bridge on same working
Cheers mate, yeah definitely worth getting out to see that one whilst it lasts.

Interesting to see a shedplate on 37057!
Yeah I thought so too so thought it might be good to include in the vid.
Honestly this is a great video, heard about your channel but watching a video for the first time. Really do like the clips that were filmed, the drone footage of the Class 69 was nice.

Cheers Ieuan 👍🏻 need to get my backside into gear to get the Carlisle vid ready, the 24 hour specials take so much editing.
@@DiggleJunction can't imagine the amount of work and planning that goes into the 24 specials 👍
Great footage Luke, some of the night shots are amazing.
Thanks a lot Ken, I do love the atmosphere of night shots. Wish we had a bit more light up in Diggle to get more of em here.
Another great video & so much more to look forward to too. Bravo. :)

Cheers Tim, Carlisle should be a good one, just need to get on with editing the bingo sheet and everything in now haha.
wow
Cheers Jug 👍🏻
Nice work again...and, of course, no video would be complete without a spot of dog-walking by the canal 😉
Thanks a lot Kryss. I do always seem to get a dog playing around, you can usually tell when I take mine with me as she pulls the lead/tripod just as the train comes into shot 😂
So where were you at 13:45?
Haha i'm blocked by a tree against the wall next to the white box at 13:49
