Mandarin is not ugly but when it comes to me to study it.. I don't feel the rythm , the way that sentences are pronounced is quite different from Portuguese and it makes me a little unmotivated to learn it
Mandarin is my native language, and English is my secondary native language. O Portugues é meu 4to idioma. You can open speech audio in Audacity and play small parts on repeat to learn the pronunciation, rhythm, and prosody. This is what I do, and you can learn all languages this way and practice until you sound near-native. It's boring, but it's fun if you are motivated.
