    my hot take: sentro machines aren’t knitting machines, so i agree that it’s not REALLY knitting. but an actual flatbed knitting machine? yeah, good luck trying to draft a pattern, work the yarn on the machine so it tensions properly without falling off, learning to correct your mistakes, and then seaming everything up. hell, the majority of outspoken crochet and knitting girlies are constantly whining about how much they hate seaming, so clearly it’s a valuable skill!

    I don't know that I'd want you to intentionally pick a tacky pattern, but it would be really cool if you did a video talking through different strategies for altering patterns for one's own preferences.

      EXCELLENT IDEA!!! Thats definitely a much better route because the last thing i want to do is offend someone’s design. Thank you sooo much for the suggestion. I will get started on that video asap! 🥰

    Oooff!! I would’ve probably been so upset too if my knitting needles broke off the cord like that!! It was great hearing all these hot takes!! I think the quality of yarn can make or break a granny square in my opinion 🤷🏾‍♀️

    I rather disagree for the video pattern : having a written pattern and/or chart (plus on or 2 pictures) is good enough. Having a video is a nice bonus, but it being the norm seems superflous. Making a good video to explain some stitches/technique is a vastly different knowledge than being a good knitter and pattern writer. It is a really big step to take. And this extra work : planning, filming, editing, adding effect, will take a long time, and would need to be compensate. So the price of the pattern would need to increase, in a world where the pattern price is already really low compared to the work it need.
    My personnal hot take : I like straight needles. I got the advantage of using circular needles, but the cable, when he is juuust a bit too long (like when you work flat) make loops, and that really annoy me. Plus the movement of knitting feels different with straight needles. The straight needle make a little up-and-down movement that feel so nice, so trully knitting, while circular needles just make a little back-and-forth left-and-right that is really not the same. And because the needles are attached together, I feel more restrains in my movement.

      I totally agree! A video is a cool cherry on top, but totally not required.
      And oh wow!!! If im being honest, i’ve never knit with straight needles, so i have nothing to add. But that does seem like a very hot take. I know exactly what annoyance you’re referring to with circular needles, and i know some knitters boil the needle wire to help it relax a bit. Im not sure if that could help with that issue. But either way, it sounds like you have a good thing going with straight needles and thats awesome!!!

    For a tacky pattern remake consider using a vintage pattern. It could be something obviously dated.

      @SheTriedItYT  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thats an excellent idea, I've been wanting to complete a vintage pattern for a long time now!

    Pick a tacky pattern...ouch! This sounds like an eye of the beholder subject that could take you down a rabbit hole leading to places you might not want to go.

      😂🤣😆 love the biblical reference! But yes, based on other comments im taking a different route. I will just be sharing different modifications i’ve used on patterns thru the years! 🤗
