You call it funky, I love the look of it so much. Chrysler shall keep this model and evolve the design. It used to be quite popular years ago, seeing it everywhere.

In Europe we have these with the well respected Mercedes-Benz 2.2 CDi diesel engine which is very robust and reliable. I have mine for 7 years now without any major issues with it. I can fit my bike and my boat and go camping pretty much anywhere and sleep in the back once I drop the rear seats. And the car can turn heads too if its nicely painted and waxed.

i love my 2005 touring pt cruiser. i bought mine 2 months ago. my first car I'm 19. I've always wanted one. there just so good looking and very comfortable in my opinion. its defiantly a car you either love or hate, I just so happen to love em. i never ever want to get rid of mine. if anything when the motor goas bad I want to put a Honda fit or toyota yaris motor in it so I can enjoy it longer. I'm well aware there not the most reliable. but as of right now I just keep up with the maintenance and keep it clean!!!

The engine will last you if you keep up with maintenance. Some people have claimed over 300,000 on the original powertrain. Just important to keep track of when the timing belt needs to be changed before it snaps. Then the engine is just pretty much a loss since the 2.4L World engines are of an interface design. But of course, your car, your choice.

i have a 2005 2.4L turbo limited custom pt cruiser and it was my first car. It's a mechanical nightmare but has so much character and utility (trunk space, etc.) that it is my best friend. If it were 4wd it would be a PERFECT camping car. they're great and unique, despite chrysler's sketchy mechanics and material quality.

It's odd (and refreshing) that the PTC is getting quite a bit of a second look over the last year or two.. makes me feel okay driving the 2003 Limited that was my wife's for several years before she upgraded.

I found the Cruiser to be a great car. I bought mine new in 2004 and love it. Have had it for 20 years with almost 200,000 miles on it. Had no major problems with the car for all of the years I have had it, except in the past year. So I bought a new car and have kept the Cruiser to see what I want to do with it within the next few years. But I love driving it more than I do my brand new Caddy.

Maybe not BEST, but it could've been a #1 popular retro-style choice,
spurring on other US auto companies to churn out a retro style competitor.

I love my 2005 PT LE Wagon. I wanted one as soon as I saw the concept car so when my husband decided we were getting a new car (the previous car had been chosen because it was "Dale Earnhart's car" so I'd been driving a black Lumina for years), I told him it had to be the PT. It's going to be the last car I have. It doesn't yet have 100,000 miles on it. I didn't want a spoiler or sun roof. It's the Vanilla color because my husband is a sign painter who specializes in gold leaf and I'd been told it would have graphics. (You know the story about plumbers fixing their own plumbing?) When we first got it I loved that I could get my really old crippled Golden into it for vet visits, or my mother-in-law and her wheel chair, or a Christmas tree, or plants and sacks of garden soil, or drive on vacation safely by myself. It's easy to load because of the low configuration of the trunk space. It's easy to get in and out of because the doors aren't heavy like the ones on the Lumina were. It may not have fast accelaration like the Lumina but I can comfortably run with trucks on Interstate 85 at 85mph. It's reliable, comfortable for me (I'm smaller than you and fit nicely in the seat), and like that I don't feel overwhelmed by the size like I do driving my husband's full sized pickup. I really love that there's no spy equipment on it so I can travel undetected and drive it myself. It's not a sports car, but when you're an adult with responsibilities and love the time period of the 30's and 40's it's a car that makes you happy. I'm glad you discovered the PT and had a chance to drive one.

I LOVE my 2005 PT Cruiser, and everyone who drives it tells me it's a lot of fun to drive. Mine doesn't rattle or vibrate when stopped, and I like how it's heavier and seems more solid than a lot of the newer tin cans out today.

@@BernonCars could a ceramic coating protect it without washing? I really like the look of dirty cars sometimes, like when that grey road dust covers the rear, but if it damages the paint that's no good.

I'm so used to riding/driving cars that are from the 90s and early 2000s that vibration and rumbling isn't a problem for me. Especially since my family's main vehicle for many years was an Isuzu Trooper, which is basically a truck. For me, it's so weird to be in newer cars that are quiet. When I would ride with somebody who has a newer car, I'm always so baffled in the car being quiet. Personally, I love cars that are a little older and have the vibration and rumbling (and meaning that there's something wrong with the car). There's something pleasant about cars that have that.

Im not gonna rag since i am a big fan of these cars. But mine is a GT and pretty modified that does make your head turn because i always get from everyone, wow ive never seen one like that.
Ok so..yes the motor mounts always go on the car. The leg of the table is actual were you shown it. The engine should not be loud unless it wasnt taken care of
The turbo version is alot faster than non. I had both.
They do come with electical seats. Even seat warmer on the driver side only. And they were know for shitty front ends which meant you had to replace the parts often. But just like any car out there if you use cheap shit....dont complain. So thats why i bought quality aftermarket parts and its survived for many years.
Other than that good review. I love how you threw those subtle comments in there. Lol

Nice video review Bernard. Those things were actually pretty good drivers when they were new compared to other cars in the price range. They were popular in rental fleets and I liked getting them instead of other compact cars. Also, I think the passenger seat could be folded down and turned into a table.
