The best of modern music has to stand one ultimate test. It’s not the sales or the popularity of the performance. Its will it take the transition to a classical score. Prodigy, Led Zeppelin, Yes, Black Sabbath, and Steely Dan and Weather report. All pass this test. Sadly the majority of “classical score on most modern band and performers do not. @@hedekbass I think they arranged it so that the musicians filled the "wall of sound" as much as they possibly could to sound more full. I, for, well, many, had no idea that the music for 'Psycho' was simply a string quartet. The violins playing WAY up to the bridge is what gives it that damned screeching sound. Check out some other quartets. Kronos is good to start with.

@@duraosunda you probably like some crap music about money and hoes. You have no musical intelligence, so your comment is a waste of other people's time.
Music - like all art is subjective. I enjoy the original song, and I enjoy a lot of classical music, but this really doesn't do anything for me. I don't DISlike it, but it doesn't grab me, either. Reasonable people, as they say, may differ.
This arrangement shows how much harmony there is in this song. That's what I wanted to hear in any cover of Kashmir. And musicians are brilliant! Thanks for arranging, playing, recording and uploading to everyone involved in letting me hear this.
A good cover is when the group that adopts the piece honours the original so beautifully and adds even more soul to it. Their arrangement is awsome. These guys really own it.
This made me want to burst into tears - the joy, the beauty, the realization that this IS a masterpiece that will be played a century from now. The lump in my throat hurts but it’s a good kind of pain. Thank you, Yamato!
I became aware of Led Zeppelin in, probably, 1970 and was a confirmed fan by 1972, by 1977 they were almost a deity to me. In the 2000's I learned of their breathtakingly audacious plagiarism, of the ageing American blues artists living out their lives in obscurity and grinding poverty while Led Zeppelin played their music, their songs, as they toured the world in their own airliner, playing to sold out stadiums. You are, of course, right when you describe this - and others in the Led Zeppelin repertoire - as a masterpiece, I wonder if we'll ever really know just whose masterpiece.
A cover version is only justified when the executor, performer can make it different and in respect to the original in the same language and quality. This wonderful version preserves all these flavors and ingredients.
I hope so too.......I'm quite sure Robert would appreciate this.....as well as Jimmy....what a great take on their epic song......I have read that they waited a whole year to release this number,... because they knew they had really hit on something....this was my favorite song when I was a kid...........
