    The animation team should pat themselves on the back. Her movements are so fluid and go such a long way in representing who she is and where she came from. This video really should be on the main PlayOverwatch channel.

      Yes, without a doubt! All of Blizzard's games are carried by their art teams for that matter. The music/sound design is phenomenal too.

      People that say dead game are just angry and jaded after many years of playing the game. People just need to touch grass a bit. I played last night for the first time in a bit and I had so much fun

      The art team does so much to make this game great, the balance team definitely tries their best, and then blizzard has to go and stick their dirty greasy fingers directly into the overwatch cake

      Im late to the party and experience a lot of joy from this game. Especially love the characters, their voicework and unique playstyles.
      I'm vaguely aware of the drama and complaints but have hope for this game and am interested in keeping it alive.

    I love how floaty and loose her animations feel, I always imagined zero gravity characters would be fun to animate just because of how much more creativity you get to have

    While people have mixed opinions on the game's balance, you can't deny that the animation and visual polish continue to be god tier.

      The art team has never missed in the entire history of the game. The concept artists, animators, 3D artists, voice actors, etc. are all incredibly talented

      in a vaccum the arts and vfx are really good, but gameplay-wise its annoying, because you can't understand a lot of what's going on, because everything is neon

      ​@@bucket6079Which bits are confusing? It's a genuine question bc I can usually tell what's going on as long as I have my sound up. Each character has a specific effect, fire rate, and sound for their abilities and footsteps, which makes it easier to identify the source than if everyone had the same effects.
      I think it's pretty neat design that some characters can have the same weapons like shotguns and still sound unique to each character.
      The exceptions I can think of are Sombra(no footsteps in invis and muffled uncloak sound) and Ram ult(particles!) but if I'm close enough for Ram to ult on my face it's either I'm dead or he's dead in the next 5 seconds lol.

      Because there are so many neon abilities, some of which aren't team colored, it is cluttered up, and in the heat of fictional video game battle, a few seconds can determine a loss or a win

    This is actually so sick, I'd say most of this has gone and generally goes unnoticed by myself and other players, but I suppose it's just testament to how good of a job you guys do at making something is so far from natural to us as humans still feel so natural.

    As a very junior animator its really frickin cool seeing the way things evolved over time and also those little glimplses of the rigs and other tools being used!

    Love that Team Four lets the devs make these behind the scenes videos on their personal channels. I think this is the third one I have seen with the Illari and Venture sound design ones. All the voice actors get cool interactions with community are great too

    The personality of every characters' movements, esp in the 1st person are so expertly animated. My two favorite animations are the 'hello' wave [it's so cute and awkward] and the reload. It might be my FAVORITE reload animation of any character. It's so smooth and cool.

    This is the part of Overwatch which you have to give props and admiration for. While the game itself is iffy, the characters themselves are what give Overwatch that original type of style and gameplay that you can’t find too much anywhere else.

      The games not “iffy”, the main problem is many players simply don’t care enough to learn the game then complain about how it works.

      @@incomplet1396 that's just the nature of ability-based comp games though. they can't always get it perfectly balanced (especially when a new hero is released), but they can get close.

    I'm so grateful that youtube recommends me these kinds of videos. In a game where everyone talks about balancing, comp and how much they hate the game, there's these areas of the game that go completely unnoticed, even though there are so many amazingly talented people working there. It's also just so fun to get insight into how much effort goes into make a single character.

    You guys should be really proud of this one. I've been playing this game since day 1 back in 2016 and I've always been more on the "OTP" side of things. Juno is the first new hero, since 2016, that made me switch mains. She's just so fun! Both in gameplay and as a character.

    So great to see that kind of video. One of my favorite videos about OW is the one about the first person animations, it just shows how much care there is to these and it's always a great pleasure to see all the details that can be hard to notice in game.

I think you did a great job with working within your means while putting as much personality into the animations as you could :D
    Would absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE to see more like this? I love the characters of overwatch and learning how and why certain decisions were made with showing their personality as well as what was considered but didn't quiet work is so cool~? (With like Juno's different melees and other ways of using her ult that weren't used but still are neat to learn about!)

    Love Juno from a gameplay perspective. As someone who fell in love with the game for it's movement based characters (specifically Genji and Winston) she's my favourite character added since Echo, and those animations are the cherry on top.

    very interesting video, i love animation insights. if you make any more in the future, i'd personally really like to learn more about the interaction between animation and gameplay/balance. like the decisions that go into how much a hero's hitbox moves when they strafe-spam, how/when one body part gets occluded by another, the readability of an ability's windup, and so on.

    This is probably the last thing I expected to find on my recommend page, yet it's the only thing alongside cinematics that I still respect about overwatch. The company might be one of the greediest disgusting company ever, but they've kept that attention to detail in animation along with character design, which always looks awesome and is the sole reason I still like to play the game.

    Thank you so much for all your incredible work on Juno. I really didn’t think that after 8 years, it would be possible to release a hero that made me fall in love with the gane as utterly as I did in 2016. But Juno is everything that Overwatch does best in one hero, from voice, to story, art, animation, sound design and gameplay, she’s perfect. I can't wait to see more skins and character interactions.
