    Amatrol’s new AC Electronic Drive Learning System - AB PowerFlex 755 (970-DRV1) teaches a wide variety of knowledge and hands-on skills related to AC electronic drives using the powerful Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 755 AC Drive.
    The PowerFlex 755 combines the functions of a general-purpose drive, a vector drive, and a “servo lite” (positioning, but not true servo) drive by offering V/Hz, Sensorless Vector, and Flux Vector control.
    This versatile new drive can be used in virtually any application in industries like power generation, agriculture, oil and gas, chemicals, textiles, food and beverage, HVACR, packaging, robotics, automation, and electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing.
    The PowerFlex 755 also features an embedded Ethernet port for communication, allowing for better management of drive data over Ethernet/IP networks. Importantly, the PowerFlex 755 can also be integrated with Rockwell Automation’s Studio 5000® PLC programming software via embedded drive instructions.
    The 970-DRV1 features three primary working areas: the operator panel, the drive panel, and the motor/flywheel/encoder assembly. The operator panel includes: main power switch with lockout; emergency stop and control power light; power supply and master control relay; indicator lights, buttons, switches, and potentiometers; motor velocity and RPM displays; low voltage test points for troubleshooting; hardwiring for unique circuits; two Ethernet ports; and USB port for use with Amatrol’s exclusive Fault Pro Electronic Fault Insertion Software.
    The drive panel includes: the Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 755 AC Drive; a reference photo of the drive’s circuit board; and high voltage test points for troubleshooting. The motor, flywheel, and encoder sit below the operator and drive panels. The high voltage test points and rotating flywheel are covered for safety.
    Amatrol’s new AC Electronic Drive Learning System - AB PowerFlex 755 also includes comprehensive multimedia eLearning curriculum that teaches 47 hands-on skills along with a wide variety of AC electronic drive topics, such as: AC variable frequency drives overview; VFD safety; motor and feedback wiring; VFD architecture; HIM control; drive faults and alarms; drive configuration using an HIM; discrete and analog I/O control; drive communications; CCW software drive programming; acceleration/deceleration control; sensorless and flux vector control modes; Rockwell Automation Studio 5000® drive programming; and drive systems troubleshooting.
