  • In addition to being an advanced manufacturing facility, LIFT’s Detroit headquarters is also a training facility. LIFT’s Learning Lab features a wide variety of Amatrol training systems, including a Pegasus robot and trainers that teach skills related to electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and more!
In this video, STEM Talent Program Manager Bernie Simms, Learning Lab Manager Jihad Mims, and Learning Lab/Robotics Instructor Isaac Vanover discuss the training that LIFT provides, including an overview of the IGNITE: Mastering Manufacturing program, developed in conjunction with Amatrol.
Vanover says, “I’ve seen the desire, because of IGNITE, that [students] want to get into different areas of manufacturing, whether that’s in automotive or whether that’s being a welder or being in a smart manufacturing environment that includes robots.”
Simms adds, “It really warms your heat and puts a smile on our faces…we certainly feel like we’re making a difference with our future workforce, with our young kids, as they’re trying to figure out what they want to do with the rest of their lives.”
