I could see the smoke coming out of you guys heads like Gon 😂 Also, I think when Betelgeuse Romani-conti...DESU!!!....talks about love given to Subaru, he means the witch's scent that's on him.
23:44 "The witch can turn into anyone". That's never been a thing. In fact the exact opposite has been stated and is the source of Emilia's discrimination. The witch is described very specifically as a half-elf with silver hair and purple eyes. As what one of the elder councilmen said in the royal election episode, that's been the Witches one and only description for generations. It's best not to treat the witch as this "always around the corner, hidden in every shadow" villain. It's been stated several times that the Witch of Envy Satella has been sealed away by the combined efforts of a Sage, Sword Saint, and the Holy Dragon. It's some easily missed dialogue but it's some of the most important lore in this entire season. The Witch is sealed away, and has been for generations. The mystery is why is this Witch monitoring Subaru and why is it only through Subaru that she has an influence in the world again despite being sealed. This episode implies Subaru is some kind of exception. Just like Subaru remembering Rem when others don't, or Subaru being able to see Petelgeuse's unseen hands.
I'm not entirely sure, but I think that's just Puck. The large cat on top of the mansion before was also Puck. From my understanding Puck calls Emilia his daughter as a term of endearment.
Its funny how when the big wolf thing first appeared they went "it COULD be the jealous witch" (who knows why) and now that the voice (which is pucks voice) appears agin they go "ITS THE JEALOUS WITCH" like it was a fact instead of just a theory before. Watching this show weekly is hard.
These theories are getting wild. I get that it's a lot of information to keep track of and new mysteries keep cropping up one after the other but you guys are creating your own lore at this point. You will eventually come to become clearer on some things as time goes on so I don't think too much correction is necessary right now and it's difficult to remember everything you need help remembering but: Guys, Subaru died in his sleep from the Rem and Ram arc because of the curse...the dog bite...that whole thing, remember? That's why Rem also died in her sleep in the loop that Subaru didn't go to the village. No. The witch has never been rumored to shape-shift in this story. Subaru is having some character complications at the moment. We as an audience can tell he does want to save Emelia, but as far recruiting help from the other candidates and how they perceive him as "selfish" it's in reference to how he's not offering anything of value to them in exchange and putting his "wants" first. Yes, whales like those of the Baleen whale have those bristle-like filter feeding teeth that allow them to eat copious amounts of krill, but as you mentioned Sperm whales and orcas hunt with their powerful teeth and jaws. Beluga whales and killer whales are more closely related to dolphins but whales and dolphins are all part of the same high-intelligence aquatic mammal group known as cetaceans.
Yeah, it's like they give you 3 pieces of the puzzle every episode and only one can fit on the board right now. Just remember that you still have those other pieces for later. The mystery part of the show is so well done.
"This whole thing is a mess." "There is too much going on." Lady Samantha and Lady Morgan those words are a understatement and could be the premise to the whole show.
@@Buckheimerspoilers season 2: Puck can't come out because of Roswaal messing with his contract right before the royal selection ceremony happened. Roswaal set things up so Emilia would be defenceless, which is why Puck was so angry at him in arc 4/season 2.
Since it's not only Rem but also the merchant at the start of the episode, the lost memories have to be connected to the White Whale. Rem's room even changed, so it even seems like it completely erases people's existence. I suppose Subaru being able to remember them has to do with Return by Death, since it's another occurrence where only he keeps his memories. Now, why he can suddenly see the Unseen Hands when he couldn't before, I have no idea. He already reset and tried to tell about Return by Death before, so he didn't do anything new in this loop.
@@naghar9827 yes but the time that passed was different in both cases. Some whales do have teeth actually. There is an entire sub-species (or whatever category is the correct one) of whales that are categorized as such because they have teeth. The White Wahle in the show seems to be modelled after a Sperm Whale. They go after giant squids which wouldnt exactly be possible without teeth.
Baleen whales (such as the blue whale, the largest animal on Earth), which feed on plankton, have filtering type of “teeth.” But most other whales (which also include dolphins and orcas), have sharp cone shaped teeth.
Man, this show keeps escalating in it's madness. Just when you think things can't get worse or more insane, it does. Now, nobody remembers Rem? I honestly surprised that Subaru is keeping it together as well as he is. Because I would be head deep in madness.
I remember watching this for the first time and I had a similar reaction. And then I couldn't watch the next episode cause of work. I couldn't focus at all at my job.
Now we can say it (without spoiler) because it was revealed here. The big monster in the end of episode 1x15 was Puck. We already saw in previous episodes that he can change his size. And regarding "daughter": People say to each other brother/sister without being related. I hope that helps to understand. And finally, it's no spoiler to say that: The witch is DEAD for hundred of years = no witch
It's my theory that the white whale gave up on Subaru because he pissed himself. Even the kids comment on how bad he smells when he arrives at the village.
😡😡😡😡😡😡BIGGEST AND WORST TRANSLATION MISTAKE IN THIS EPISODE 1) White whale killed the PREVIOUS SWORD SAINT not the FIRST SWORD SAINT (current sword saint is Reinhardt Van Astrea, previous sword saint was Thersia Van Astrea aka grandma of Reinhardt and First sword saint was different) 2) Also Calling the SWORD SAINT as MASTER SWORDSMAN is the great insult for FIRST SWORD SAINT
I'm gonna give you some witch of envy spoilers because they're just lore that would help you understand what she can/can't do: the witch of envy is an immortal half elf with silver hair and purple eyes who has been sealed at the great waterfall since 400 years ago. The great waterfall is supposedly what surrounds the re zero world which is believed to be flat, so she's basically located at the edge of the world. She has not and WILL NOT leave there without a massive outcry, given that Volcanica one of those who sealed her is a) still alive, b) an enormously powerful dragon and c) still has the covenant to protect Lugunica despite the royal family it's with needing replacing. The witch just leaving and walking around Lugunica would only happen much further into the story. ... But the witch of envy is someone with incredibly powerful magic, the same type as Subaru and Beatrice use which is shadow/yin/dark magic. She has basically the largest amount of mana capacity with her gate in the world, so more powerful than Roswaal or literally anyone, and that type of magic is capable at its height of messing with space and time. Shamac is the lowest spell which just messes with your perception, but the level Satella has is capable of teleporting, just like destroying stuff, and stopping/rewinding time by a few milliseconds or so. I believe when Subaru says something about return by death her yin magic creates those hands, while also freezing time for him, he goes through a sort of eternal torture thing but also whatever space or something Satella brings him to also appears in post death scenes which the anime cuts. So it's a space where he also sometimes appears with her while having new memories/emotions but sort of forgetting everything from the rest of his life. So the torture scenes are probably linked to those cut scenes in my opinion: Satella might be trying to make him remember her or trying to get the version of him who does. Note this is my interpretation of why the torture scenes always refer to her hand as bringing him pain until he forgets who he is like it's tearing his soul apart, and seemingly looking for something within him(in the first torture scene in volume 2). But what is fact is that it's her magic or abilities which bring him there and torture him, NOT Satella herself since she is always sealed. She can just do magical stuff despite being sealed with a few triggers: if Subaru talks about return by death it seems that's the only time she uses her magic like this consequence free, there are later instances of Satella doing stuff which imply that otherwise she'd probably have Volcanica, the dragon that is, stopping her. The way the seal works is kind of revealed in arc 6, but not completely. You can basically assume: Subaru doesn't say anything? Satella is sealed and inactive/probably not really even conscious. Subaru says the wrong thing? Satella's magic stops him revealing anything, time is frozen so noone hears him. She herself never physically appears and is still sealed but her magic isn't stopped by anyone. Subaru dies? He appears in the same realm where she tortures him with magic but this time remembers/loves her and doesn't remember(and doesn't love) anyone or anything else. Then Subaru regains consciousness at the checkpoint with no memories of the post death scene and feeling like he's died moments ago. Whether the witch can shapeshift or anything is completely irrelevant since she only appears anywhere through magic with her physical body sealed. So you should be VERY surprised if it ever looks like Satella herself appears or does something outside of that shadowy place when he's tortured. It's most likely only her magic which shows up and still needs Subaru to trigger it somehow.
i hate how everyone end up watching these whack-ass crunchyroll sub the keep using the phrase "master swordsman" instead of "sword saint". lame as hell.
