Can't stress this enough, but you gotta keep your eyes and ears peeled on EVERYTHING cause if you blink in this season you will be left behind. Writing down things helps remember stuff from long ago so that helps, but you don't want to miss anything happening right in front of you. Just a heads-up. Lot of new questions popping up already, but that's what the show is about. I'll just explain about context of things we already know about up to this point: What was up with Subaru's refusing to shake Crusch's hand at the start of the episode? It's not evidently clear--a story reason that's probably shown and not told. We did see them engage in a strong handshake and nice, wholesome moment in front of the sunset after defeating the White Whale. My guess is that Subaru really felt that moment was really special and earned from Crusch, who he had been struggling to get her to respect him for a little while. They had a bonding moment. Since she can't remember him or anything he's done up to this point, maybe he feels sad and that shaking hands with her is symbolically wrong or off. If they can restore her memory, he'll probably shake her hand again then. If you guys don't remember, the plan for evacuating the village was to split them up and take half to the Sanctuary with Ram and Roswaal and the other half with Emilia outside of the domain. Emilia's group returned to the village safely so they can chill there, but we have to go to the Sanctuary to get some answers and get that half of the village back. You guys seemed not to remember--and this only happened for an instant, but we have seen Frederica before. In a flashback of Rem's memories in episode 11 we see Frederica scolding Rem or something. Her appearance was being foreshadowed even then. Yes, we did know Beatrice was a spirit. She was certainly no ordinary little girl doing what she does. I believe the first time it's mentioned is when Ram explains it to Subaru for the first time in episode 4 when's he's getting the tour. She's able to make contracts as she's contracted to protect the forbidden library and she made a contract with Subaru to protect him that one time just like Puck can do. That's why she likes Puck so much is that they have a lot in common. We've really only heard about the other 6 witches from Beatrice in passing. She told Subaru that Satella swallowed them all up and became enemy to the world. There hasn't been any confirmation or suggestion that the witches are siblings thus far. I think that might be another example of head cannon seeping into reality like with the Emilia-Witch's daughter-Puck thing xD But hey, it's not like it's a disproven theory yet so your guess is as good as mine ;) When we talk about multiple people holding the title of a deadly sin, we have to make a distinction in their categorization. The show hasn't come out to tell us a lot of this stuff directly, but we have to use context clues to figure it out: The witches named after the seven sins are their own separate group and we don't know much about most of them yet. Then we have the sin archbishops who "represent" the sins. They might have some connection to each witch they correspond with, but it's believed they are also a separate group. There is a line that Betelgeuse says to Subaru in episode 22 that is treated as a throw-away but actually gives a bit of context into how their group works. He says that "out of the 6 archbishop seats in total, only the seat of Pride remains vacant" and then asks if Subaru is Pride because his scent of the Witch is so strong. Only 6 archbishops in total? So that means they previously had 5 active, now 4. It also leads me to believe the only sin they don't typically hold a seat for is Envy since the cult revolves around the Witch of Envy, Satella. Betelgeuse's behavior would also suggest that the Witch's Cult is centered on revering solely, or primarily the Witch of Envy. I suppose it depends on whether you refer to it as the W-I-T-C-H-'S cult or the W-I-T-C-H-E-S cult. Though, Satella was the one he wanted to meet after all, and the one who's name he was madly reciting as he died even though he's Sloth and she's Envy. There also weren't "multiple Sloths" as you understand it. The power that allowed multiple people to have the Unseen Hands and become his "fingers" were a part of his Authority of Sloth. They all had their bodies taken over by Betelgeuse--we saw that first hand when he tried to take over Subaru's body in episode's 23 and 25. The White Whale had also been nicknamed, "Gluttony" but that classification can be explained later.
17:25 We actually knew from S1 thanks to Beatrice that there was more witches, i think ep 4-5? She said that Envy killed all the other sins, made the whole world her enemy and was sealed. A sage, a swordman and a dragon beat her, couldn't destroy her flesh, so she got locked up. We don't know who the sage is, but the dragon must be the one past the great waterfall, the dragon of Lugunica (The one that made a contract with the royal family, Rooswal wants to kill it, he said it after the mabeast dogs shenanigan) and the swordmaster must be an Astrea, probably an ancestor of Wilheim and Reindhard.
We knew that Beatrice isn't human and has a close bond with Puck, but I believe this is our first time confirming that she is a Great Spirit herself. Subaru took off the necklace from Emilia because the glow reminded him of the exploding crystals from the last episode of S1, so he thought it was similarly rigged.
Beatrice is definitely connected in some way to whoever or whatever is behind this situation. I must certainly wouldn't mind learning more about her. She is a cute and interesting character.

Re:zero is a novel, so the anime sadly has to make cuts. The show stated that Otto has the “divine blessing of the soul of language”, which allows him to understand the voice of anything, including animals. They first mentioned this near the end of season 1. Remember that the white whales screams could drive people crazy? Well, it was amplified on Otto, as he can understand the white whales speech. So when Otto pushed Subaru off the cart, he was literally going insane from the whales powers. And of course, there was the logic at the time, that pushing Subaru off would save Otto’s life (this was also shortly after he met Subaru, so they hadn’t formed much of a bond yet) Just wanted to clarify why Otto did what he did in that season 1 loop. Otto’s actually a pretty dependable guy generally 👍
