I picked up a box of OTJ from my LGS yesterday. I got nearly every pull I wanted and quite a few valuable pulls. The most important pull I snagged was Riku of Many Paths which I'm building a commander deck around and I can't wait to playtest it at my LGS next week.
@@vahitcantekin2618 It depends on what you're looking for really. If you want a deck for Commander that's just ready to go? Pick up the precon Quick Draw deck. If you want to crack packs and hunt for cards for fun? Booster bundle or (if you can afford it) booster box.
I got a pre-release box today myself, and my notable pulls were Oko, the Ringleader and Lotus Ring. Those two together are worth nearly what I paid for the box itself ($25). (1:39) I really like the full-art lands of this set. Neat way to shape the mana symbols, especially with how the Forest makes use of negative space for the tree symbol. (3:35) Wouldn't it hurt to try to ride a porcupine? :P (4:13) "Voted most likely to bring back banding". (7:13) Heh, someone else at the store pulled two Contagion Engines and used them in his deck. He did wreck some of my army with it, but I had a few creatures with +1/+1 counters that cancelled out the initial -1/-1 counters, and thus they couldn't be weakened any further by the proliferations. I eventually won that match by barely keeping my one flying creature alive through the -1/-1 counter proliferation thanks to equipping it with my Lotus Ring, and then I used Reach for the Sky and Gold Rush on it to make the final push towards finishing off my opponent's last 5 life points, when my flying creature had been weakened to a 1/1 just before I played those buffs. (8:34) Heh, Failed Fording is clearly an Oregon Trail reference.
As a set, this is far more enjoyable than Karlov manor. The bonus sheet makes for interesting interactions with the crime mechanic although I am not a fan of the theme. Pre release last night was fantastic and I came 3rd! Just holding back on purchasing product like I used to as its relentless! but am very much looking forward to Bloomburrow. The top set of the year in my opinion.
I think I’m gonna save for the next two core sets. This one isn’t really my cup of tea. I want Bloomburrow because it feels more like a Magic set. And I want Duskmourn because the thought of a 70s/80s horror movie world sounds exciting to me, as I really like horror.
I’ve never played MTG but my coworkers are convincing me to play. On my first pack I got Oko or however you spell out his name and the hype was fun and funny because of my “beginners luck”
YEE HAWW 🤠 I had a bad prerelease experience at my LGS someone awkwardly made up their own rules about trample and it was a moment where a judge wasn’t available so I awkwardly scooped I didn’t want to participate
Eh. Not really interested in this set, just not something I really like. I think also the commander decks were really disappointing to me, might pick up the spellslinger one only.
@@OdracPR ? What’s that meant to mean? Commander is the most played format, and in my small town it’s the only thing people play in numbers. I didn’t say the set was disappointing for commander, I said the commander decks were disappointing to me, the product they specifically made for commander

Do you recommend buying the bundle or the quick draw commander? I'm new to the game so I'm m not sure what's the better option

I like the wild west theme
I got 7 mythics from one bundle box!! Almost 1 mythic for every pack! Was insane
Crazy!🤯

@@MTGUnpacked soooo I came back here to let you know that I pulled Ulamog with the retro frame foil on my 3rd pack out of a prerelease box 🫡
i have got oko, thief of crowns foiled from my first booster
Congrats! Had no idea that one was even in this set🤯
3:38 I'm sorry, but I don't think I would like to ride on the back of a porcupine! That would really hurt my bottom!
😱
Not even a full set of full art lands??? Won't be getting this.

Wait what? Quick Draw Commander pack is one of the best precons WOTC has ever made!
