  • This month it was all about techniques for mark making using things you wouldn't normally use, yes there were some successes and then there were some that weren't my favourites, but as I've said before these are not tutorials theres are just me learning on the job as it were.
    Here is the link to the New Zealand artist who's work I'm enjoying.

    The next best thing to Gelli printing myself is watching you do it, Ceri! Love all the prints you made! Yes, I have carved corks in my stash too…great minds, I guess. 😂. They are left from my mixed media days and not my idea. I’m sure I saw it somewhere here on TH-cam. 🤷🏻‍♀️. Enjoyed the video very much, my friend! I hope you’re having a great time on your trip! Not boaring at all. I'm learning so much watching you do these. So far my first attempts with the gelli plate has been fails. The paint always dries way to fast & nothing pulls off. And I've had everything at the ready & in reach.

    • @CeriGriffiths
      @CeriGriffiths  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      There’s are retarders you can add to the paint to slow the paint drying out to quickly if you live in a dry climate, have you ever watched PM Artist Studio on TH-cam, they do live streams three times a week, normally gelli printing, and they live in Texas and add retarders to their acrylic paint to slow the drying time.

    Hey Cari, I just had a thought. Have you seen those rolling pins with raised designs on them? They're all wood, they act like a stencil a lot of times they're Xmas themed. But, I wonder if that would make cool patterns on the gelli plate.
    What do you think?

    • @CeriGriffiths
      @CeriGriffiths  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Deb, yes I have a few acrylic rolling pins with designs on them, and yes you can use rolling pins to create patterns and textures…..just play to see what works but don’t use metal textured rolling pins on the plate as you could damage it.
