    That video contained more thermals than Dixons underwear draw😂

    Your door is a jar. Or ajar however you wish to take it. I like your sense of humor and your videos. All not too bad landings and a good call to abort the take off.

    Great landings my brother!

    Late to the party, and catching up with your excellent videos. I hear they are replacing all lifeboats with 172s because they float better. If I become half as proficient and confident as you I will have done well. All the best.

    Love the reminder to keep currency; practice, practice, practice. I thought your landings were good (except the floater). I have my PPL check ride this Thursday, hope to be F’ing gravity with you soon! Thank you for the entertainment and encouragement.

    Love the new camera angle! I can really tell that you're committed to video production I know how much of a pain that mount can be to install on a rental plane, but its totally worth it! Great video, as usual!

    Nice ATC speaks slowly and very nice. Unlike what I have to deal with down at John Wayne airport.

    Since I finished my PPL in December, almost all of my flights have been taking friends or family up, and I've noticed that my landings are not quite as smooth as they were while I was training. I need to do the same thing in the very near future. Great video as always. Cheers!

    The airplane definitely ballooned each time at the same spot on the runway. I don't believe it was your doing rather, it looked like a slight thermal for sure. Great video - thanks for sharing !!

    Love you videos, I was surprised that you didn't do a go around on that landing you taxied back.
    Keep the videos coming!

      I considered it, but I could still make a safe landing and then gather myself on the taxi back to the runway.

    I love the “ and rota..whoa!” I fly a 172 that does the same. Gotta love planes that want to fly!

    Nice video. Can't really comment on the quality of the landings other than "it's a Cessna". 3 outta 5 ain't bad. ;) Have a great day, Garreth. (and Happy Father's Day)

    If you can walk away from a landing, it's a good landing. If you use the airplane the next day, it's an outstanding landing.

    Nice to fly with you again Gareth. Looked like a bit of a rodeo ride at times in those thermals and nice to get that shout out over the radio! 2 very smooth greasers amidst the others 😎👍

    I need to do exactly what you did. I’m always just flying XCs around Florida as well. My landings are ok, but they could use some fine tuning. And I’m glad we’re getting another plane. The Van Anda schedule fills up fast at KORL.

    • @ZeroThreeDelta
      @ZeroThreeDelta  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, it’s hard to get into the schedule at times, but I suppose that’s good for the fleet.

  • @richarddanner9247

    I like the way that you fine-tune your landing most of your bad landings are OK to most pilots. I find on hot gusty days that keeping 10 degrees of flaps prevents floating. Anything greater than that tends to make High wing planes regain lift.

    • @ZeroThreeDelta
      @ZeroThreeDelta  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, I’m going to do a video one day with different amounts of flaps. I don’t use full flaps in the 182 and that works nicely.

    great production, out of curiosity are you intending to work on your night proficiency also have gone nigh flying with your wife? (also your door was not shut correctly there is day light showing and you can see it clearer from the outside view looking at the door.

  • @rhkennerly

    That left door sprung? I can see light from the inside around the back at the top. Looks funny on the outside, too.

    Just happen to let you know that the doors weren't closed properly.... you can clearly see this at 2:06 and at 2:37. This happens to the best of us :D

    • @ZeroThreeDelta
      @ZeroThreeDelta  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I thought that, but it was. It just doesn’t fit very well. We have the exact same issue on 03D.

    • @pilotjason
      @pilotjason 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ZeroThreeDelta the same happens with my Cessna 177RG but you just need to lift the door and slam the door hard when locking it

      @@pilotjason We think the hinge got bent in heavy winds one day. Next time I’m with the plane, I’ll take a closer look.

    Why not stay in the “Orlando North?” Small airport to do your practices?

  • @av8or971
    @av8or971 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I wonder if that float is where the plane is entering the ground effect zone.
    Also, there is a light on in the rear cabin, and the left door is not closed all the way and missing a seal, can see light through the door edge.

    • @ZeroThreeDelta
      @ZeroThreeDelta  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep, the door doesn’t fit well, we know about the seal - that’ll be looked at during the 100hr. The light - didn’t spot it until I downloaded the footage 😂

    Why does your (pilot) door looked 'cracked' open (from external camera) when airborne?.. Good video!

    • @ZeroThreeDelta
      @ZeroThreeDelta  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      … because it doesn’t close quite perfectly. We think it’s slightly misaligned.

    So is the 182 easier to land than the 172 for you ???

    • @ZeroThreeDelta
      @ZeroThreeDelta  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Erm …. It’s certainly more stable, but the nose is a lot heavier so the amount of back pressure is greater.
