We’re Doug and Jamie - an aussie / american couple who love adventures, good food and exploring new places. For the past few years we have be using what we’ve had to explore more of Australia - which wasn’t much. But in 2020 we upgraded Doug’s work van and it now doubles as our home on wheels part time. 2022 was the year we decided it needed a makeover so we jumped into a big van build series over the winter, ready to hit spring in our new setup! Our hope for this channel is to grow a community of likeminded people and to inspire others to jump in the drivers seat of their own life (pun intended) and create their own magic. And after surviving life in one of the most lockdown cities in the world the last few years, we are back in action ready to share our adventures!

14:26 Hey y'all, I'm a local Melbournian who has been to Daylesford several times (I was literally there yesterday as well lol). That 'pipe' was not drinking water. That looks like a drain. There are proper pumps around Daylesford that are safe for drinking (they are signposted as safe for drinking). Please be careful and don't drink out of random pipes you see.. not all of these are for drinking.
15:58 The blackberries are not all safe to be eaten either. Some of them are only safe to be eaten when cooked. All these blackberries are *sprayed with pesticides* however, and *MUST BE WASHED BEFORE CONSUMPTION!!!!* There are also rules about where and when you are allowed pick the blackberries, so always check beforehand.
Thank you for the Victoria (and just Australia in general) representation. We don't have many Aussie content creators that make videos about the smaller tourist locations, and talk about the affordable, aesthetic stuff we can do right here in Australia. Especially during Autumn and Winter. In Victoria, we can still have that aesthetic Autumn and Winter that you see in Europe and America..people just don't realise unfortunately. So thank you. ❤

Thanks for all the feedback on the springs and the blackberries too! yes as the series unfolds we find marked ones safe for drinking and unfortunately, some capped ones are no longer safe (don't worry we didn't drink those) luckily we seem to have come through episode one without any sickness haha but thanks again for letting us know! I'm sure it's an area we are going to revisit again!
It still astounds me that you both wander around in shoes...not designed for wandering. But if anything it adds to the delight when you end up making it down!

Live in Mornington but everything has become so busy down here, would move up there in a heartbeat!!
Enjoyed this a lot👍 spent time there last summer at a different campground. Climbed the lookout tower in the botanical gardens- worth it for the view! and the history… In town there’s a great shop selling genuine Turkish things near to a highly recommended cafe, down from the information centre. If you want to see great autumn scenery, watch an old movie, called - The Trouble With Harry. Set in New England, USA. Very funny, and gorgeous scenery. Warped humour though🤣 looking forward to seeing the next part👍👏 by the way, the mineral springs vary in taste-locals gave me the heads up on the best one.

beautiful area Daylesford .haha if it was that bad of water im sure they wouldnt allow you there at all or they would plug it off...its bore water at its cleanest ...our bore is drinkable but i dont drink it coz rainwater is much nicer ..bird poo on the roof and all (theres filters lol)...you asked what was for dinner...wraps with sweet and sour prawns and salad.yummo. looking forward to the rest of this series.
