This is such a tricky song. It lures you in with a catchy pop tune but the lyrics and tone change into such a drama it's wild. I mean this little girl, this child was basically taken advantage of by an older man who tricked her into thinking she was special, he was different and what they had was unique. As she grows older she tries finding what she couldn't with Mannix. Something different and special. But every time she thinks she has found that, turns out they only wanted her for her body & to use. She grows up learning the lesson that love is nothing but lies and dies that way.
Her story skips "drama" and goes straight to "torture-porn horror". Years of abuse before dying at the hands of some Jason Voorhees reject who can't even swing an ax properly. Jigsaw couldn't devise a worse scenario.
I like the touch of how you emphasized saying *_"LARGE"_* when you describe Henry because it seems like Katherine herself is actually disgusted by him.
K.Howard is ALWAYS disgusted with Henry. In the live performance, K.Howard (Aimie, specifically) was like "Tall, large...Henry VIII." as in she was grossed out or just tired of hearing his name.
Don't forget this was the time in Henry's life where he was getting even larger then in his good years. dude was huge. so he was grossly huge from his build plus all the fat he started to build up/

@boop I actually saw a comment claiming they disliked a video despite liking the song. When I asked this user why they did that, their response was that they simply wanted to dislike the video for the sake of it. I only recently got into Six and it was only because I wanted to know the songs you covered from it, so thank you Anna for showing me such an amazing musical!!! 💛
I hope she do the other less known songs (House of Holbein, megasix, Anne Boleyn introduction and maybe wearing yellow in a funeral even if this last is just 5 seconds... maybe Anna can improve the rest like she did in Hurt incantation)
@@mirkohoble Yeah that would definitely shine a light on the smaller songs that get a bit overlooked. I would love to see Anna's take on quite a few if she does decide to improve them or make them a little longer.
I'm going to be honest, I have never heard this song before (except small bits in your livestreams recently), and the lyrics of this song have just left me horrified! The singing is incredible, however.
Well people didn't exactly have video games, TV, movies, board games, Ferris Wheels, amusement parks, museums, or a number of other things back then to occupy their time, and obviously they had music but more of the Mozart variety and not like pop songs and there were no earbuds then, so yeah that probably explains why they would live like this.
The ending of this song kills me everytime, especially with the accompanying choreography. Katherine Howard RIP and Anna, you performed this flawlessly!
Has anyone notice that Thomas Seymour ends up in everything?- K Howard got groomed by him Parr got married and then he cheated with him He’s Jane Seymour’s brother (?) And he killed King Edwards dog, then got beheaded. That’s ironic
@Someone 333 Par re-married fairly quickly (six months I think) after Henry's death to Thomas Seymour. A really poor decision on her part as how quick the remarriage was ruined her reputation, she caught her new husband s*xual abusing her step-daughter Elizabeth (the history books use the words caught them in an embrace but we all know what that really meant) and Parr lost her life fever after having his baby only a year after Henry's death. Thomas Seymour was behead a year after that for treason against his nephew.
I believe the Thomas that Katherine was singing about was her distant cousin Thomas Culpeper, who pretended to be her very close platonic friend just to get into her pants like every other man in her life, but you are right about everything else he did
Your voice is spectacular My dad thought you worked for Disney because I put you on in the car and he said you sounded like a Disney Princess. Have a good day
this is crazy I just was binge listening to the songs from this musical today for the first time, and this gets released a couple hours later. Love it!!!!
What’s sad is Francis probably was the ONE. They actually had a decent relationship until her aunt(? I think) found out and made them stop seeing each other.
I love this cover of this song. The song is so dark, but I think it is also so appropriet to tell thd heartbreaking story this is. I think Anna's emotion change comes so nicely through the vocals: first playful, like the young naive girl who was excited for attention without understanding what she was dragged in to, then maturing step by step and finally recogniskng how much she is getting skrewed by people around her, and combined with the tonal dissonance between the poppy tune and the increasing haunting lyrics just really makes the whole story. As someone who deals with things through dark humour to make an impact, these songs from the Six are really like nuggets of gold for me.

And in the whole song. It started off as a hopeless romantic in a way, then slowly got more sad, and aggressive. Props to you Anna!
Who else is waiting for Anna to land the role of a leading character in a musical?

P.s.: I know the queens lived in toxic and abusive relationships both with the king and other partners, but I am obviously talking about the attitude of the characters of the musical. Luv.

Me remembering that one part: “Tall, large, Henry the eighth, supreme head of the Church of England”
I'm obsessed with this song. In fact, the whole musical so I was so exicted when I saw you'd be covering this.
Here's a little history for you fellow listeners: Henery Mannox's age was never confirmed by historians, giving an estimate of early 20's (like 23 in the song) all the way to late 30's.
Tw up ahead: Lack of Consent
It was rumored for the relationship was/at least began with Mannox forcing himself upon her... Needless to say, she's been through a lot.
You could hear the rage at 5:55, it’s an amazing touch!
Yes💜
I’d totally go watch Anna’s one woman six show
Anna roasting Anna. Anna being the mom friend to Anna,Anna,Anna,Anna and Anna. Anna had the worst life. Anna had the best life. Anna was super silly. Anna made me cry.

Me to the third power: expecting a whole soundtrack on Anna singing Six songs.
6:07 MY HEART STOPPED OMG THAT WAS SO PERFECT
5:30 "THE FRIEND I NEED" She really wants some friends not relationships.
5:46 "HE SAYS WE HAVE A CONNECTION" you can hear the disappointment in her voice. She want him as a friend, but she realize he's one of the guys who always love to take advantage of her.
5:51 She thought Thomas is different, but NO. He wants to take advantage of her too.
Last time I was this early Anna of Cleves was still flirting with the footmen
Legend says she still is.
Also off topic I'm so peeved I went to Richmond in 2013 and didnt know Anne's castle is there. Shame my OCD doesnt allow me to go in places like that, or I'd SO ho back and see it like I so want to. I mean I COULD go, but I'd have to throw the clothes and shoes I wore away, scrub my hair until my scalp bleeds (done it before, not fun) and scrub off a layer of skin off. And after the last exhausting, THREE HOUR methodical shower which left my eczema leaving me a scaly ball of cracks and blood spots, I just dont wanna. Oh to be a history nutcase and having "places with death or history" be a massive trigger for your OCD 😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for sharing this talent that speaks to the soul, and gives strength in this crazy world!
I love this, I thought that your voice compliments this character so much. Your music for this musical focuses a lot more on expressiveness rather than perfect rhythm like the original.
All I wanna do is listen to this nonstop for the next three hours

@@menacingish6686 I'm afraid I've tried that and it doesn't work as well as disliking. Why? Because TH-cam is big stupid
Or just the song itself
@boop I actually saw a comment claiming they disliked a video despite liking the song. When I asked this user why they did that, their response was that they simply wanted to dislike the video for the sake of it. Some people dislike to troll while others genuinely get entertainment out of it. I also agree that some do it to fix their recommendations.
Sometimes I go back to videos I like and see that I accidentally hit the dislike without realizing it.
The way she said wild in the beginning made me go wild.
To be fair, she still HAS her head it’s just not CONNECTED
I'm going to be honest, I have never heard this song before (except small bits in your livestreams recently), and the lyrics of this song have just left me horrified!
The singing is incredible, however.
yeah it’s dark asf
Me during the whole video: *screams in double meaning*
Well people didn't exactly have video games, TV, movies, board games, Ferris Wheels, amusement parks, museums, or a number of other things back then to occupy their time, and obviously they had music but more of the Mozart variety and not like pop songs and there were no earbuds then, so yeah that probably explains why they would live like this.
When you are musician or a singer , you know when she says “C to D” she means *all the freaking notes :0*

Has anyone notice that Thomas Seymour ends up in everything?-
K Howard got groomed by him
Parr got married and then he cheated with him
He’s Jane Seymour’s brother (?)
And he killed King Edwards dog, then got beheaded.
That’s ironic
Thomas _Seymour_ is not the one that groomed K. Howard, don't spread misinformation.
Elizabeth I was groomed by Thomas Seymour.
I believe the Thomas that Katherine was singing about was her distant cousin Thomas Culpeper, who pretended to be her very close platonic friend just to get into her pants like every other man in her life, but you are right about everything else he did

@@bugd.9768 Yeah she was 16-18 years old
I love this cover of this song.
Six: All you wanna do all you wanna o baby........
Hamilton: Oh Lord show me how to say now to this i don't know how to say no to this ........
