My friend is getting "Lost Connection Timeout"-thingy - i have done everything as showed in the video, even setting the rules for inbound. Does anyone have an idea how to fix connection problems from a separate network (not lan) ? I have looked around and verifying his files doesn't help, he changed his graphics and didn't help, he tried mobile-hotspot and didn't help either, so we are kinda out of options and have no idea what else to do
Internet is probably too weak on a hotspot. ASA is more bandwidth consuming than ASE. Also, he didn't show in the video, but you should do the same for outbound rules as well. The firewall needs both.
Hello, I would like to know how to run a dedicated server on a pc I am looking to buy for low money and the requirements to run the server on that pc that I will use only for this
Are you building this server on the same PC you are playing on? I have a pretty beefy machine that can handle a cluster and I know its possible if you have the resources. I was just wondering if you play on the same PC you host your servers? Thx in advance for this information!
I am using a 2nd PC for the server in the videos but you can certainly host it on the same PC if you have the hardware. Keep in mind it uses a lot of ram and will slightly lower your frame rate:
Quick question. If I only have an option for 1 port for internal and 1 for eternal, do I have to make four separate ports for all 7777,7778,7779,7780 because my router does not give a range for ports? And would I do this for the server ranges (ie. 27031,27032,27033,27034,27035 and 27036) as well? Or do I not have to have all those ranges?
@ yea some routers are more intuitive but in your case I’d make a rule for each port including the 270** ports. Be sure to open your firewall as well with the same ports.
@@ghosttechtips6944 Thx bud.. I am able to play on the server thx to your video... However, you should do a full video on editing settings via the game.ini and the GUS.ini. For some reason my changes in the game.ini are not reflecting in the game. Have you had this issue? Is it possible to make the values too high? It wasn't this way on the Nitrado server in ASE.
Is this for that windows 10 version that has cosplay with xbox? I know you use soo caled steamcmd but I thought steam games usually stayed safe in a folder called "steamapps".
Thanks everyone for watching! I have tested this with others and they are able to join my server. I am curious if others are able to join your servers. Let me know in the comments
They should be able to see the server under unofficial just by searching for it. As long as you have the ports open they shouldn’t have to do anything else on their end. If they want to connect with the console you need to give them your private ip. Can find it at whatismyip.com: Ex: open 10.165.35.01:7777
For me I got it to appear on the server list and done all the steps but it keeps timing out when trying to load in from any devices, is there something extra I need?
Hi, I can access the server from another PC on the same network by typing in the console "open 192.168.x.x:7777" but server does not appear in the list and can't be accesed from outside eve typing on console. All the ports mentioned are open on the firewall and router. What could be the problem? Thanks
You would need to use your public up address on a pc outside of your network. Can find your public up address by going to whatismyip.com. If there’s no password should be able to join with your.public.ip.address:27015 but I have had others join by just searching in unofficial. Be sure to have all set under pve/pvp and have the option for show password protected checked if you have a password. Make sure your server is updated to the newest game version. I put steam in online mode to check for newest update then once it’s updated and launched I close and start again in offline mode. Server will only Show if it is updated to newest live version. You can also try adding -noBattlEye to the .bat file and launch without battleye but have tested with battleye enabled. Some have had to add this argument. Also be sure to check out my other video showing how to install using steam client instead of steamcmd. Hope this helps :)
I’m finding the easiest way is to make a single player game and choose the settings you want then run. After copy the gameusersettings.ini to your server and overwrite the existing one.
@@ghosttechtips6944 ah ok makes sense wanted to separate themselves from us :( on Xbox you don’t have to click the button. Also wanted to ask if I make multiple setups of this directory can I run multiple servers at the same time with same pc? Or do I need to make vms? Thanks for the help btw
I am reading that some people are also opening the firewall rules to outbound and using 27015 as well as both udp and tcp. I haven't had to but it wouldn't hurt. So 7777, 27015, 8888, udp/tcp inbound/outbound. Hope that helps. Let me know if you have success with that. Also, make sure you have pve/pvp set to ALL and show password protected servers is checked as well.
