So many people here don’t know what a TAS is, so i’ll break it down. TAS stands for “Tool assisted speedrun” The players don’t use an actual controller, instead, the use a program that essentially lets them go frame by frame and manually input the commands. Its not an easy thing to do, so don’t go thinking this is cheating. It takes alot of time to go frame by frame in this. The mission took 7:00, and the game runs at about 30 fps I think. That means he had to go through 12,600 frames in the entire thing. Must have taken him a month to do the whole thing, unless he was always on it. This isn’t even accounting for how he needed to do everything properly, often times having to go over a few frames to get the commands right. That is what a TAS is. I think they were originally made to see how fast a game could be completed, or in this case, a mission.
I was so motivated to play dmc 3 after watching these and tried beating all the bosses on mission 18 on dmd and yes this is exactly what happened to my gameplay
This guy is pro. He made the DMD boss fights looked like a walk in the park. That Tempest and Royal Guard was Beast mode. He made the game looked like what Dante would do in real life haha(Being the Badass and smart ass he is)
The tool assisted speedrun , just like the name say , is a tool that allow you to catch frame by frame and re do the movement so it can be perfect . The right thing at the right time basically . Tas allow you such movement that seems robotic but every person can do but in a extremely difficult way .
You need to start the move via the direction back + style button, and as soon as the move starts* mash the style button - the more the better. *The mashing requirement is brutal, so what a lot of people will do is buffer the mashing, ie do A&R stinger, and as that move is happening, you can input the Twister/Tempest move AND mash the style button too, as the game counts inputs even during other moves. Or play the DMC3 Style Switcher mod and drop the mashing requirement, lol.
Just stumbled upon this old video but can I ask about the boss order? Like why start with Doppleganger when Cerberus or Gigapede are closer to the entrance? Sure you still have to hit the statue to adjust gear, but wouldn't going to Cerberus first be faster since his entrance is right there? Legitimately asking
