It’s such a fantastic fight, and I feel like a lot of that was due to the writer not nerfing either of the combatants to make the other look stronger. I was really expecting Siggy to be some unstoppable juggernaut and for the legendary duel to be made into some false remembrance the Night Lords had in order to make themselves feel better. But this was great, both characters were absolutely nailed, getting their respective times to shine. As a huge fan of Sevatar, I’m also glad we never get his perspective. It makes him a lot more intimidating when he’s just an elemental force, an embodiment of the best and worst of the Legion. Absolute props to the author

I do agree that Sevatar was one of the best duelists during the Heresy and would be a challenge for just about everyone. But Sigismund was on another level. Sig even went toe-to-toe with Fulgrim and was able to actually hurt him during the Siege of Terra!

Rules to a game are meaningless to him. He made fun of them for setting up rules in the first place.

Fueled by a cold hatred for all that does not fit into the order of the world by which he defines his life. He is, I think, the embodiment of what the Dark King, would have been, had the emperor become him. A rather lifeless thing which grinds all variety and creativity into dust. An engine which goes on and on grinding and crushing and killing and forcing compliance until there is nothing left in the galaxy but cold, robotic humans, bereft of dignity, and humanity, and beat of the engine's pistons on their backs.
@@SerV689 I'm not so sure because Abaddon is regarded by most Primarchs as the best first captain and he showed on multiple occasions that he will do whatever it takes to win, can the same be said of Sevetar?

Since a Chaos Empowered Abaddon was almost slain by a elderly Sigismund, Yes. I don't believe any Marine could stand against either of these monsters in their Prime. Only these 2 could survive A encounter with the other. A True Ying Yang.
Despite the victor being arguably be either through legal: Sigismund or practical: Sevatar. Sevatar really taught Sigismund that fighting dirty over honor can really help you even in the most stickiest situations. As Sigismund later on while being held by Fulgrim, used his chained black sword to slash Fulgrim unexpectedly on the lips.

I know his values were a major part of him, who he was but just like you need to adapt on the battlefield, you sometimes should conform for certain adversaries. Example, just because you would never thrust your sword through an enemy with his back towards you doesn't mean that same enemy follows that same rule, you'd die fast with an honor code that ridged, with no wiggle room or flexibility, fortunately never happened to him, he was just too good and couldn't and wouldn't lose until he was old, even for warriors that were nearly immortal.

Only the ones who are left alive in the issuing conflict are the ones who will tell the tale no matter what version they wish it to be.
Surprising how many fan boys the night lords have though isn’t it? I think it speaks to peoples inner self which primarchs and legions they admire. Personally I abhor the night lords. But that’s the idea… we all back our teams and moralise about it 👍

I personally don't care too much about the legion itself, but Sevatar and Curze are amongst my favourite characters because of the way they present themselves. Therefore I can't stand Imperial Fists, Dorn and Sigismund for various reasons but to each their own taste I guess. You are free to like any legion and that's all good, that's why they are all so different😉😂

And, I hate Sevatar because, IRL, I HATE the punks that continue to talk shit even as they are getting their assed handed to them. Like, what do they think they're accomplishing? Do they believe that they are winning? Broken and bleeding, on the ground, doesn't look like winning to me. Edit: Went on a bit of a ramble. TLDR -- No, maybe, and yes.
