You caught a Striper LoJo. Solid stripes and height 1/3 of fishes length. Hybrids height 2/3 body length and stripes broken up somewhat. Both will take drag more than any smallmouth ,spotted bass ,or largemouth bass.

Lojo unless you physically see and hear someone at the dam telling you to get away then your not in the wrong, they sound the horn to alert people they are either about to 1. Start generating 2. Turn on another generator or 3. Release water from the lock. We're lucky here in TN we can fish anywhere below our dams, ive even seen people up inside the generator cubbies 😂

I can’t use a 5 rig Alabama rig here in Wisconsin, they don’t care that I’m from Alabama, I’m going to have to make a 3 hook version and glue on some flukes without hooks to complete the 5 shad school

I’d say braid I’ve never fished with one but that’s what I would say to use

Why don't u ever throw the contender n the river? They work great in rivers and really well for striper. The 6" in bone will get a some quality fish. Maybe not as many as an a rig or jerkbait but it'll always be big and good. Stick with bone color for striper and maybe hybrid, out of all colors I've used in the ca delta for all species, bone seems to work the best. Trust me, start throwing the 6" bone contender more in the river, don't just give up on it n 5 casts either and i bet you'll hook a fatty.

Next time your In Florida do a bitters bait and tackle challenge it’s a small family owned business it has only one location but they have everything from combos to soft plastics to hard bait to terminal tackle
