I think I’ll take one of those lures and make it into a light over my dining room table. Definitely would make a fine chandelier.
So true lol
I'd get that thing snagged in 2 seconds and loose all those lures lmao.
Ravioli Formuoli same my creek would eat that after 1st cast
Story of my life. 30$ plus down the lake drain
Same
I would swim down to get it
He clearly says you're supposed to use it in open water
When you voted “yes” to keep the “neutron style” in The vid👌great vid by the way, keep on doin what your doin!!!
Thanks max!
FYI, Paul Elias won at Guntersville with an A Rig and put it on the map.
Yeeess!!! “ The NUTRON style” 😂😂👍🏼
nUTrOn StYlE!!!
Tyler, so glad you're doing this video. I've been wanting to try an A-Rig but I've been a little intimidated. Thanks for the info, Man...
I love the way you explain things Tyler! Makes it easy for beginners!
Always making that my goal!
This is the best video regarding A-rigs, thanks! You're very articulate too, so that helps. Great video, thanks - just subscribed.
I really appreciate that! I think you will like the rest of the videos on my channel as well👍🏼
I love your videos Tyler keep up the great work and you help me understand so much more with fishing
Heck yeah! Love that you’re learning
Tyler, this is a great video! Thanks for doing what you do!
Of course!
If you aren't fishing it over wood you are missing out. I love this thing and it's a great cold water bait.
Nice work mate. Wild lures you use over there. Keep it up 👌
Great video man, because the rig has a great bite window people think they are easy, but they are not.
I love this video. cant wait for the boat driving tutorial!
It will come this fall!
Ok. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your skills. Refreshing hearing your short gospel message. Keep up the good work brother.
Thanks for the kind words Jim!
Best TH-camr ever
hi Tyler, AWESOME video, great info, nice job, be safe, thank you, bill
Had to go back and find this video as I think i wanna try this rig for cold water struggles here in Kentucky!! Wish 🤞 me luck😜
As a man raised in Florida but living in Georgia,I give you, a Kentucky man, permission to use the Alabama rig.
Ive never learned to use an a rig properly and I dont have the proper gear however I do use them in my kayak to troll behind me as im moving from spot to spot. I catch a lot of fish randomly none of them have been targeted though
Seems like a reasonable idea
@@TylersReelFishing oof lol
U need to fish with kickin their bass TV that would be such a good videos of u two fishing
Here’s one: th-cam.com/video/qdH3upkvy1c/w-d-xo.html
I used to fish a 5 wire A-rig on a spinning rod with a swivel instead of directly tied on. The swivel eventually broke in half on a cast lol good old fashioned cluelessness
diggin the new intro music
🙌🏼
I have lots of deep mud bottom ponds in my area that allow me to use Alabama rigs without snagging
Thats one wild lookin lure, great video bro.
It’s real effective too if they are on it!
@@TylersReelFishing Yea imma have to get one of those.
Imma get a small one
go fishing at Lake Geneva in wisconsin when you have the chance. we have a home on the water. known as a famous powerboat lake but the fishing is good
What size jig head did you get and what size lure did you get to match the size of the jig head
Great tips thank you
Really nice video. Enjoyed the info.
I’m glad!
Never fished with one but they look fun! 🔥
They are!
I live in Wisconsin love to see you fishing here and was wondering were you are fishing
Andy Poss developed the A-Rig and gave one to Paul Elias to use in a FLW event which he ultimately won.
I can't say I've ever thrown an A-rig... I might throw it in a tournament but when fishing just for fun, I like fishing with the lightest lure possible to feel more of the fish. Awesome info though - definitely makes me think!
A rig is banned in tournaments
@@lukemorrell2870 not all tournaments
I use these to troll with, never want to cast them unless its one of the smaller rig, but i mainly fish lake northfork where the primary bait fish is shad, so having something that mimics the bait fish schools is great for blackness, whites and stripers, and ive even caught catfish and walleye as well, also troll it shallow close to the bank, great lure
blackbass"
Yes! It’s a great multi-species lure
Any amount of hooks in Georgia on the Alabama rig
Try putting all SPRO crankbaits on it. It works great and catches a ton!
goos stuff man!
I don’t know if you still go to A&M but my sister just started going there this august and I told her to tell whoever has brown curly hair and is named Tyler that her brother is a huge fan of the channel:) I hope I can meet you someday
I graduated in 2019. I’m sure she is loving it!
Can you do a review on the Tokyo rig? Just heard about it and d like to know more! Thanks, Love the channel!👍
My recent lure review video talks about it
Did I skip it or did you cover the size and type hooks to use?!
Tyler, how would you utilize this bait in water 6 feet or less in current? Would you just start bringing it in as soon as it hits the water?
Yes and use light weight heads
Hey Tyler! I just picked up an A Rig and I was curious on what gear ratio reel I should use? Thanks!
Slowwww
@@TylersReelFishing thank you!
I’m looking for an A-rig rod. I was looking at the custom speed stick lite (7’11” Extra heavy). Would it be too much of a broom stick? -I also want to be able to throw tournament sized glide baits on the same rod.
That rod should work for both!
@@TylersReelFishing 👍
A little off topic but what are your settings on your live scope I haven’t ever had mine that clear. Thanks
I’ll post about that once the Livescope bite really gets goin again
yes new vid
Si
haha
Just got myself one of these...I hope it'll do me some good
You missed the best season for it! Its best in fall to late winter
Just stumbled upon this video. Man you did a great job of explaining things. Tried to see what weight jig heads you was using but the link expired. I would assume 1/8 but just wanted to check thanks.
Fixed the link! 1/8oz yes
If I remember correctly, they aren't legal, here in the Show-Me-State. Let me back up. You can fish with them, but I believe you can only have a max of 3 hooks. If you want, you CAN use attractants like spoons, blades, etc., where you removed the excess (anything over 3) hooks.
I just bought the Lew's SuperDuty GX3 for my A rig reel. How would I set it up to throw the a rig since it doesn't have a brake nob on the side?
Hmmm that’s not really the best reel for A-Rigs. I would just mess with the settings until you get it right. Don’t make long casts or hard casts until you have the settings dialed in
@@TylersReelFishing I just realized I didn't get the right superduty. Saw this one on sale and jumped on it and didn't notice it wasn't the Superduty 300 LFS. I will return and get the correct one. Thanks man! I have looked for a Texas fishing youtube channel for awhile and found yours. I actually live in College Station, so enjoy some of your videos from lakes closer to me. I have learned a lot and look forward to putting what I have learned to use.
Hello Tyler I live in San Antonio Texas. And I'll love tolearn to fish with soft plastic, I have a good collection of bait from the most expensive to the less expensive. But I have never caught a fish on soft plastic . I have caught fish on jigs, rattle trap, lip less crank bait any moving bait . But not with solf plastic. It must be me . I have watched videos ,you, lojo, norm, ayo, tactical bass ,lake fork guy . And I have fish weighted, weightless, whacky, drop shot,Texas rig ,California rig . No luck .
What type of knot do you use
I want to toss A-rigs more now thanks to this video! I've been able to catch Bass with them in the past and I have yet to add a trophy Bass certificate to my wall. Maybe tossing an A-rig around in some of the big Bass areas I know of will help me get that certificate!
It might man!
Yeah get it all rigged up nice , all those shiny store bought lures on it , threw it for a spin with the baitcaster, flourocarbon leader snaps and it sails into the unset on the first cast !!!!!!. Now all i do is troll with them.
What advert did you guys get?
hey tyler when are you going to do tournaments this year if your doing them at all.
Not doing them this year
Awwwwwww
Hey Tyler what Are your favorite lakes to fish in Wisconsin for bass fishing?
Only fished a few! Don’t have any crazy favorites yet
@@TylersReelFishing nice👍👍 keep catching bass
Can I use a ML rod and use A-rig on it?
I would not recommend it
04:57 If MN only allows one hook how do they throw crankbaits (2 hooks) or rapala type baits?
Not sure haha. I guess a treble is still defined as one hook
We use this in game fishing for marlin as a teaser. Its called a dredge
Are your swimbait jig heads 3/0 hooks or 4/0?
3/0
Tyler, what gear ration is on your reel for this rig
7:1:1 I believe. A little too fast IMO for the A-Rig
The Alabama rig seems soooo intimidating to throw.
Nahhh once you start you’ll not feel that way anymore
Then start off throwing a smaller version, like the Live Target Bait Ball (fishes like a large spinnerbait), and gradually work your way up to a larger one.
Love it
Thanks!
I'd like to get in touch so I can tell you my story and we can get on the water thanks
Im so exited for my first high school tournament can i have some advice for the tournament
Time management. Fish a spot as in depth as you can in the quickest time frame. Only fish the key areas the fish will most likely be (in a tournament) to get as much casts in as possible
Just fish what you’re confident in, but don’t get too stuck there! Never give up ALL day
@@TylersReelFishing thanks
@EvoMore thanks im going to pit all this into play
Any idea how they troll? I’ve always thought about trolling a bait ball or full a rig as I go between spots in my canoe
They troll fantastic
So if you throw a jerkbait in Minnesota do you have to take off 2 hooks?
No, one lure like that can have multiple hooks
I have a question my state here in MD you can only have 2 hooks how would you set it up
With “dummies”. You thread the swimbait on a screw lock with some super glue. Still gives all 5 baits, just 2 hooks (make sure the hooked ones are the bottom 2 swimbaits)
@@TylersReelFishing thank you
Make a video on all of the banned lures in tournaments
Kinda torn on the braid vs. flouro argument. If a bass can see braided line then they definitely can see all of the wires and extra hardware on the A-rig. I honestly am slowly becoming a braid to leader guy. Cast farther, more sensitive, and wayyy cheaper in the long run
True points there. Like I said though, I want to minimize potential things that could cause a bass to not eat it
i throw mine with my little girls paw patrol 2 ft pole. Works like a charm.
Thought I was the only one. 8lb mono is key
Love the analogy "...like trying to pull like a wet racoon through the water".
Braid gives much better movement of the lure. I cant understand how a fish would see braid if you had 2 metres of fluorocarbon leader. Is that a graphite rod? Super interesting. Thanks from New Zealand
Yes the majority of rods bass anglers use are graphite nowadays
God Bless Texas!
Amen!
Dude knows his shit
I do believe it was Paul Elias
i had one hanging above my crib when i was a baby
Lol
What gear ratio for the reel?
Slow
I liked your other intro better...but this on is still a vibe
Gotta change it up sometimes
you have a ton of metal everywhere and tyler is worried about the fish seeing the fishing line and not biting. lol
Hey man, hedge your bets haha
why not? lol@@TylersReelFishing
Let’s go. He kept the part at 9:10 in from his ig story
Of course!
Here in SC, we are allowed to use all 5.... however ive never looked into this... i will be now! I bet i could throw this out in some striper schools and do work too
It absolutely SLAYS striper
What about retrieving a hung a-rig? Or did I miss that part?
I did not discuss that. Good luck with doing that haha! You could use a chained crankbait retriever, but those only worked every once in a while for me, and I usually lost them too
TylersReelFishing feel you on that! Thought you had a super secret method I was missing out on. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Lew's discontinued the custom plus 7'11" heavy superduty 3. What is a comparable Rod? Anybody?
This rod in a 7’11” MH: bit.ly/3rqLQKx
Or this in a 7’11” MH: bit.ly/2Yqb69M
@@TylersReelFishing Thank You. I was lucky enough to snag a Heavy like the one in the video last year. Still on the hunt for another Heavy as I use the for Stripers.
What is the white circle you wear on your hat
It’s the Anglr Bullseye! Pretty cool deal for pre-fishing/breaking down water but even better for actually fishing. The Anglr app is basically a digital logbook that allows you to drop waypoints and saves all sorts of data about each fish catch that you can come back in later and view or edit. Stuff like wind speed and direction, air temp, barometric pressure, etc. The app is free but they offer add-ons like the Bullseye that just make it a lot easier to use. That’s the little thing on my hat in the video. It’s like 30 bucks but you can bluetooth link it to your phone and that way each time you catch a fish you just hit the Bullseye and it logs all that stuff without having to take your phone out each time. People compare ANGLR to Fishbrain, but it’s much more helpful at making you a better angler than Fishbrain
@@TylersReelFishing Thank you so much for taking the time to respond, and making these amazing videos. I have learned SO much from you. Hadnt fished in over 20 years and then my 4 year old little girl told me "daddy I want to go fishing" Your videos and insight have helped so much. Thank you again.
Don’t some states have rules against those because of some swimbaits have more hooks then some states allow
08:26 I am not worried about them seeing braid since you already have multiple wires running to the lures that is in their face.
Exactly, braid spooking fish just because they can see it is just a myth. Why doesn't 5 wires spook them? 5 wires are easier to see than braid.
So don't "lews" your a rig got it 😂👍
If theres a rod that can handle the Nutron style, its gonna be a Lews rod😂
Haha yessir
Bought a 3 wire A-rig.
#1 cheaper Initial cost
#2 lighter
#3 wisconsin legal
#4 lighter gear needed
#5 no dummies
#6 less overall cost if lost
Not a bad idea!
Not that you want to ever turn into a lawyer out on the lake but do they consider a jerk bait with three treble hooks to be against the law in a state where you're only allowed to have one hook per line? If not an A rig with multiple hooks should be considered one lure just like a jerk bait or crankbait regardless of how many hooks are on it. Especially if you attach the jig heads with snap rings without the quick connects. Idk just a thought
how to fish a trickworm and where?
th-cam.com/video/cq8NvpfsAi0/w-d-xo.html
It’s a bummer that this rig is illegal in Minnesota
It’s not. You can use it with 1 hook
How to get A-rig unhung
Get on top of it, and snap your line, then give slack, and repeat
9:10 🤣🤣🤣🤣
More like 9:11 or 9:12
First like and comment
My friend, you should be a teacher/professor. I bet a a school that offers a fisheries/fish wildlife management/fish science would benefit from your style and knowledge!!
Thank you so much! Maybe one day I will!
Or a college bass fishing coach
Great vid. Still not a fan of this rig. Too many moving parts and like you said, it’s expensive.
how on earth could you be worried about braided line with all those metal wires on there lol
The braided line would be seen by the fish when your reeling it thru a school, your line is coming thru the fish way before your bait gets there. Pressured fish spook from braided line. Hope this helps.
I would like to see these catches without the use of electronics. THAT would be much more satisfying.
Here ya go: th-cam.com/video/m-vyZkRsVbs/w-d-xo.htmlsi=2aj7-FXZl4_HNWQ5
@@TylersReelFishing Nice! Thanks!
Did he just say the fish might see a braided line but not notice the wires?
Looking back at this, I slightly disagree with my own statement, but also still stand by the idea of it. It’s possible fish see the wires/swimbaits/blades all as a school of bait together, and the line coming in for miles would potentially make that little school ball look odd. I still use 25lb Fluoro and have great success
Feels like a wet raccoon through water lmao 😂 is true
