    The tropical climate has it's own challenges as well. So you cannot say it's an advantage for Singapore.

      A great point!!! But we should keep in mind that tropical climate definitely has more advantages than that of arid or alpine/artic climate. There are reasons why most of every human civilization has occurred, occurred in the tropical region. Be it the Indus River Valley or be it the Mesopotamian River Valley.
      But yes, it is true that tropical climate has it's own challenges as well. The full effect of global warming will sink almost all the tropical coastlines and port cities (including Singapore).

      @@hunkwasbisyan007 Well, challenges which faced early human habitats are very different to challenges today. For example, back then, central heating, hot water, warm clothing, etc. were not there. But they are all very common and relatively inexpensive now. However, challenges unique to tropical climates, like, mosquitos, outdoor heat, etc. does not have good solutions so far.
