The only thing I see a little Weak in all this, is down playing at all, how incompetent care can get. As a former practitioner at a VA hospital, I personally wont go there out of reasonable fear for my life , and freedom. They aren't my keeper... we signed a contract, took an oath Y'all. . Thank you for serving, ....and stay FREE from tyranny. The VA offers that too.

Are you saying you wouldn't get care at a VA facility? I am just trying to make sure I understand your message correctly.

Fort Mead in Sturgis is an “Excellent” VA medical center. I’m very fortunate to use their facilities.

Great video I am a disabled vet my self but I am reaching out to you for my son maybe you can help him he is very skeptical of the va disability program as he has watched me for the last 15 years as a vietnam vet trying to deal with my agent orange problems he is 0 percent service connected but they haven't responded to his request for the past two years of a leg amputation very slow getting back to him and some times not at all even though we have filled all the necessary paperwork thanks

Related question: my DBQ for hearing loss opined that yes, veteran has hearing loss, and yes hearing loss was due to military service. However, my rating was denied due to “service connection cannot be granted as your hearing does not meet the above definition of hearing loss for VA purposes”. Based on your video and many others I was expecting a zero percent rating, but what I got was denied. Is this something new the va is doing?

Hearing has a lot of complicated rules. The kind that I have to read several times every time I look at a hearing problem. In short, a veteran's measured hearing has to be below a certain level in several frequencies on the hearing test before it can be a disability. That makes it possible to have hearing loss that isn't bad enough to be a disability.

I have the same hearing loss denial for my claim. The VA agreed I have a hearing loss disability (I meet the auditory hearing thresholds in 3 of the 4 decibel ratings) that I have a qualifying event , injury or disease had its onset during my service i.e. Artillery. But because I have no claim or record of hearing loss in my medical records, I need to provide a medical link (nexus) to connect my current diagnosed hearing loss to my service. I was also service connected for Tinnitus. I have also been diagnosed with vertigo from my private ENT doctor. @@WalshVetLaw

Great job in explaining the importance of at least getting a 0% rating and becoming service connected. I have been diagnosed with bilateral hearing loss from the VA C&P exam, but the VA still denied my hearing loss claim. I need a nexus to connect my current hearing loss to my military service. I was discharged from the Army 51 years ago (MOS Artillery) and never complained while on active duty. My first VA claim was this year, 2023. I did get service connected for Tinnitus and left ankle sprain for total 20%. I did file a supplemental claim for hearing loss a second time this year that included a nexus letter from my ENT and new doctor notes that detailed my current diagnosis of Vertigo. If I can get my hearing loss at least service connected at 0%, I might be able to claim my vertigo diagnosis as a secondary condition to hearing loss. So this is an example of how a 0% service connected might help out getting a secondary rating for other medical conditions.

The Cheyenne Wyoming VA has done a good job of being a better VA.I first went there in 1986 and it wasn't really up to par compared to now.
I'm in Casper Wyoming and the VA here is all good 👍

Thank you! I was thinking if moving to Cheyenne because I heard the VA Med center there was the best in the country. Even though I have had good experience with the VA Med center in my area. My wife said it’s too cold in Cheyenne to live. What are your thoughts about where you live?

I have heard that multiple 0% ratings can combine to 10%. Is that true?

Yes, although that’s rare these days being that 10% for painful motion is now the norm.

I wish I would have known this 30 years ago. Now it's too late I injured my back in service and only had a couple flair up with it since then. Now my back is chronic, and the va denied my claim because I waited too long to file

I somewhat disagree with your 100% analogy. If the rating is protected and the veteran is terminally ill, it could open the door to SGLI if the veteran failed to enroll in the past.
