also, i like the idea of the “online apprenticeship” approach, but mostly in regards to how you set up, breakdown, sterilize - maybe the supplies you always keep on hand. but personally i just love the live tattoo sessions and seeing you you pull lines and how you build shades (like in your portrait videos). i’ve been tattooing privately for about a year now due to my location, but know there’s always more to learn and grow when it comes to this craft.

Virtual apprenticeship sounds like an amazing idea that can help me and a lot of people
I personally think an online apprenticeship with a genuine artist would be super dope and would alleviate a lot of the pressure/stress it puts on people. Like for me my biggest issue is I have the time but I just don’t have the reliable transportation to get to any shops. I rely on Lyft which essentially takes money out of my pocket without being able to make any during the apprenticeship. So I feel like it would definitely be super convenient.

I agree with some others, I am a surgical physician assistant and while I get to play with needles all day I love my career. I would love to learn tattooing but do not want to give up my day job. This platform would be amazing.

A formal apprenticeship will always be the best way to learn the craft. I’m not looking down on anyone who can’t or wants to learn online but the difference in ability will be night and day. Not to mention who you apprentice under makes a huge impact on the start of your career. (Not saying you’re not a good artist) tattooing is my life, I sacrificed a lot if not everything to enter into the industry. In my opinion if you can’t devote yourself to the craft it’s probably not for you and is a disservice to the craft. Again this is my opinion but also a hard truth, good luck to anyone trying to learn to tattoo.
I completely agree with your comment, but as you may know, it can be super hard to just land the apprenticeship, even if someone is 100% committed to tattooing as a career. If I could land an apprenticeship in person tomorrow, I would take it, but I haven't been able to get my foot in the door and don't want to give up on my dreams, so learning good techniques online is the next best thing imo.

I've found it extremely difficult to land an apprenticeship in my area, so I've decided learning the correct way to tattoo online is the next best thing. I think as long as you can truly get the apprenticeship/license to tattoo it would be really dope. I’m currently trying to find somewhere to get mine so I have a better chance at finding clients and can build a proper reputation

I would love an online apprenticeship! I cannot find one locally and I would love to tattoo professionally. I’ve taken a few only classes and graduated and I have several tattoos underneath my belt but I need more practice for detail and shading

Hair clogging the needle is the only sensible justification for shaving that I've heard yet, so kudos for that. Most people say it's to prevent ingrown hairs after the tattoo is done, but there's no evidence for that.
I always believed the skin can’t be 100% cleaned without shaving
