Hu Tao's attack bonus from her E have HP cap based off her base ATK.
At level 90 with Staff of Homa, that ATK Bonus is capped at 400%*(106+608) = 2,856 attack. Which means that you'll only get bonus attack up to 45,623 HP at talent level 10.
More HP than that then it's a literal waste of stats. It does nothing except grieving her damage and making her tankier. 11k extra HP topped with lower EM and the fact that the other build have 4 crimson effect, shouldn't be surprised that the damage is way lower.
Edit: 56,418-45,623 = 10,794. 10,794 extra HP from the cap equals to around 69% HP stats, you may as well drop your goblet/sands or switch to defense mainstats and you'll do the same damage assuming your other substats stays the same.

Yep, there are reason why some characters capped stats this way on their attack, otherwise it'll make a bit off-balance their property build. Balance it with pyro goblet makes sense for me

@@itz_andi9691 I noticed it too. Rather low. I get much more than that. Not crazy high but not that low for a charge attack. Also an EM build will do better obviously due to the EM and passive it grants.

Her hp drops off from 27-30k. Once you're there just get more crit or em. Yes more hp will increase dmg, but only by a little bit.
In my opinion, more HP above 30 or 40k is only worth it if hu tao has rank 5 staff of homa.

30K hp its only 15k when in 50% as long its dont reach 40k i think its okay use HP sand, or when you got C3 then its time to use EM sand, but.... if you using Gilded dream for Hutao HP% still worth.... *i know its suck than shimenawa but maybe there is someone there having good Gilded set for hutao*
@@Kindi001 It's ok to use hp% sands to hit 30k on hu tao, but you should switch to em once you can hit 30k without hp sands which is easier now with double hydro.
The real problem was he changed pyro dmg goblet...its unfair...the elemental dmg bonus is the most important thing...the title is hp vs crit not hp vs crit+pyro dmg...he should only change the circlet

A crit build would usually maximise the atk and crit stats whereas the non crit build maximised the hp the crit stats was just a bonus

From my own experience building hu tao, I think 30k should be enough for her hp. Since I did try with 36k hp with 57 crit rate and 220 crit dmg, however low em (I forgot, might edit this later). Her damage isn't that good for some reason, rarely does crit too. I suggest after reaching 30k hp, definitely try focusing on crit rate!
My hu tao got 32K hp I don't know if it's good tho haha but her raw charged attack was 25K-30k depends but her vaped charged attack was around 61k-70k

30k HP is enough for Hu Tao, focus on em and crit. mine is 30k HP 67/236 with 247 em in a double hydro/Zhongli team and she hit 95k+ per CA. Im using SR btw, if you have the same stat with CW, prob go up to 100k+ per CA
I found some problem here:
1. 4pc crimson vs 2pc mix will make dmg different
2. You crit dmg in HP% isn’t compensated enough to crit artifact
3. 30% different in pyro dmg bonus will affect vape too so it can’t be compare

35K HP, 1200 atk, 750 def, 130 EM crit ratio: 70-168, ER 120, pyro dmg bonus 68,4%. 4pcs crimosn witch. Balance hu tao consistent damage

It took me 8 months, but my Hu Tao is one of my best built characters yet at 31k HP, 61/189 crit, 9/10/10 talents and her atk is 1.8k. She’s also using a 4pc crimson set ofc
This is the type of vid only someone who doesnt play genshin or someone who cant read will need. Because with a little bit of reading you can definitely tell crit is the way to go because her skill caps at 400% bonus dmg
Theres literally other more sensible video you can make such as:
1. Is bennett good for hu tao? (TLDR he is (iirc i forgor) if you have no homa even at over 50%)
2. EM vs HP sands which is better? (EM unless you have less than about 25k hp or you are playing mono pyro)

hutao doesn't need much hp really her atk bonus caps you just have to read how much it is depending on the weapon
Use shimenawa, and no it will not ruin your burst. I got lv 10 normal att, lv 10 e skill, and lv 8 burst talent. Bane weapon, 55/220 crit with 30k hp, around 250 em. With buff from Zhongli milelith, and nahida's 250 em addition, i got 75k vape charge, and 190k burst, and that's without 33 percent extra pyro bonus.
I'm just saying, shimenawa are easier to get than crimson, and if you do decided to bring her home, it's okay to use shimenawa. Oh and lastly, if you use shimenawa, and trying to use your burst, use normal attack instead of charge attack, somehow the game count your energy based on element aplication, while charge attack indeed have a greater damage, it has low energy regeneration. Pin this comment if this information is useful

@@chaosinfernoid9008 the key to not burn the victim is apply hydro xingqui or yelan burst first and not just use burst and switch char so fast. Nahida help big time, especially when you have down time between xingqui burst

Bruh, this aint about Cryo Chars. We are talking about Hu Tao, and Dendro is trash with her, i tried it multiple times. Btw: Ah yes, i really BatChest at aiming for my opponents for half a minute on Ganyu.💀

I actually run a 2 piece witches and 2 piece glad with roughly 50k hp and do vape damage and I regularly get 100k with my charge. It just depends on your sub stats. Then again I also have c2 hu tao with yelan as my hydro spread so that could also be why.
As a Hu Tao main with her signature weapon, 30k HP is enough and focus on other stat (CR/CDM/EM) and i recomend u using EM sand when ady reach 30k HP without HP sand esp if u use Homa
The optimizer told me to lower my hutaos hp from 30 to 25k and use the 95% crit rate build with more atk%. Worked better, it knows well =d
Not really a fair comparison imo. At least in terms of artifacts, especially for vaporize. 4 piece crimson gives a big boost to vaporize damage.
You should probably add calculation of what the average damage would be (averaging crit and non crit hits), the formula should be (dmg non-crit + dmg crit) * crit rate. That will show better representation of the damage number instead of just showing number when crit, its just become hp to cd comparison at that point, disregarding crit rate
This isn't crit vs hp, this is a 4p good set vs a 2/2p bad set.
To test hp vs crit you have to use the same set but with hp circlet and em sands on both preferably.
I use it on mine, 50-200 crit 270 ish em and 3600 atk.
both are bat set 50 crit rate and 250 crit dmg, are a really awful balance, same as 50/200
So what I've learned from this is that HP (up to a ~45K cap according to another commenter) is a really good budget build if your artifact luck really sucks

Hu taos signature artifact is CW so it will definitely win in every aspect by a huge number. Second close has to be 4x shimenewa yet it lacks off in reaction based team comps

Actually she doesn't own a signature artifact, as CW is literally for Diluc. It just happens to be the most Dps Artifact too. Shimenawa actually hits a bit harder, but simple gets rid of your burst and that's why it's pretty bad. But i you got a really really good Shimenawa with HP and Crit Stats deffinitly use it. It will totally slap.

CW does not win in every aspect. Shimenawa has better ca dmg than cw
I capped my hu tao at 40k HP and she has 52% crit rate/ around 245% crit damage (Lvl 90 staff of homa). I feel I got lucky building her.

Though the DMG seems higher with the CRIT build, they both need 6 attacks without vaporize and 3 attacks with vaporize to beat the enemy, so not much difference in total DMG, however an HP build is far more easier to build than a CRIT one.
Having level 68-70 characters (all 4 star) and just 5-6 5-star artifacts, all four star weapons, except wolfish on BeiDou, I use overload( 1.8k-3.5k, Crit hit: 7.6k- 10.5k ) more than vaporize coz I haven't got a good hydro character yet. Still I'd build my existimg party a bit more on crit rate and crit DMG, then mayeb I can deal more DMG, and tf I'm getting only a few type of 5 star artifacts only. Suggest anyone( no lvl72+ character yet)
So if I remember correctly 35k hp is the max for her skill atk increase so you want somewhere between 32k and 35k hp but I am counting homa
Why would you go full hp? She had a cap as to how much atk she gains from her hp. After 40k it gets smaller and smaller.

@@greenislandserenade1 I can confidently say no its 30k. Once you hit 30k(27-30k), any more hp is useless when compared to the same investment in a different area like em or crit. I had 35k hp then I decided to drop the hp% sands for an em sands with relative same substats and do more dmg easily. It's the exact same with em for hutao, after 350-500 you don't want anymore. Hu tao needs a balance.
@@daiyas_3596 It's 40k where her damage gain drops significantly by adding HP though. You can run 30k HP hu tao at base but double hydro with yelan and XQ gives her another 6-7k HP or something, which still increases her dmg significantly compared to her base 30k HP. 40k is where you hit the hard cap on damage gain, and the only additional dmg u get past 40k only comes from homa passive. Any other weapon and you don't gain any dmg at all going past 40k.
You're talking about diminishing returns building HP past 30k compared to building EM, but it's not the hard cap which is 40k
Edit: the hard cap is actually around 45k for a hu tao with homa below c3 at lvl 10 talent, I'm too used to c3 talent level 13 which lowers it to a couple hundred below 40k with homa.
Yea so after 30k the difference is small and doesn't matter. Better to build em or crit after 30k.

Depends if you have Homa on her. There’s a limit to how much HP she converts into ATK on herself, but Homa doesn’t have a limit
But it’s best not to invest too heavily into HP rather than Crit because Crit is a multiplier. HP is an addition

Why don't you use 4 witch in hp anyway? Also, you could try to get to a stable 50-200 critical prob/damage without losing too much health, 50k or more is fine. And without forgetting the pyro damage bonus

50/200 crit isnt really good, almost bad but better than nothing.
70/160 looks worse but is actually better because, even when you lose dmg you gain more dps.
The reason? Easy, and i'm going to show with a really easy example:
What's bigger? 1% of 1,000 or the 100% of 100. Even when 1000 is way bigger than 100, is useless when you have 1%, In the other case you have the 100% of 100 wich is obviusly 100. So it's always better to have a balance, in crit, it's 1:2 or in other words 1 crit rate for every 2 crit dmg
Yeah i get what you mean. I would love to see triple hp with cw instead. That way the vape dmg boost stays the same while comparing the total dmg between the 2 different builds
So hit me.... 42k hp, here's 3 dif crit stats I have for her( 42 - 273,,, 32-298,,, 52-257) 3 dif em stats ( 37, 98,123)... when not on a team she's tuning 1100 atk, when on team she has a normal of 1700
50% above hp activation- 3700 atk
50% bellow hp normal- 2400 atk
50% bellow hp activation- 4700 atk
The highest iv crit iv hit against cryo regisvine is 446744
She's still in work but on the akasha site with her 52- 257 she has a crit value of 212.2 so tell me what I'm doing wrong and if nothing wrong then tell me why u haven't cried for over 500k yet
Actually this isn't a raw damage test because zhongli's shield decreases opponent's RES for 20%
There's a cap on her HP-ATK conversion. stacking that much HP is not really optimal...

You need to work on your jump cancels a bit more. You can cancel the charge way earlier than shown in the video
Correct me if Im wrong but isn't it so that her HP gives her an atk bonus, wich means her dmg still scales of atk.

Hu Tao converts HP into attack and so does Staff of Homa. (Hu Tao has a limit, SoH does not)
Staff of Homa’s sub stat is Crit damage (66.2% to be exact)

because of her elemental skill, The elemental skill converts a portion of her HP into attack.
If I remember correctly, her HP doesn't add much bonus to her E but only her burst, no? And also the more HP she has the more HP she regenerates with her Q
Idk bout that cuz i think 31k hp giving 1900 attack is enough for me (base on my hu tao) and her burst heals more if her hp is at 50% and more enemies around. Her burst bases on how low her hp is also increases its damage at low hp only

This is not good representation because you have more value in crit stats than you have in HP, crit can scale infinitely while HP build has limit, and some other minor stats are better on crit build. And damn, crit build has also a lot of HP almost to a limit of HP scaling. So no, there is no good info on builds in this damage showcase

i have 20k on her because i farmed for a year with no hp% sands with cv stats
i thought my hutao CRT rate 69% and crt dmg 260% is good enough with 34HP.. now its time to farm again after seeing some comment that their hutao is better than mine.. LOL

my most dmg with charged attack was around 70k
so little crit chance...
