Fear not, we will continue with ship and class history, but they'll be in separate videos. It just streamlines the videos and cuts about 5-10 minutes out of already long videos. Few people watch the How to Play series for the history specifically. Also, I will still point out certain historical contexts that are important to play style... such as Hood being a Battlecruiser and thus shouldn't be played like a battleship, for instance! ;)
@AlphaNapalmBravo22 splitting them into their own videos allows for better coverage of their design and exploits in service without clogging the How to Play videos for those who can't be arsed to listen to it in the video. The history is still important!
It does, but the 4" guns are a very different animal than the 5"/38 guns on the upgraded Nicholas. Nicholas feels like the USN DD line, Clemson doesn't... at least, in my opinion.
Yay! How to play is back! I think a brief thumbnail sketch of the ship class is worthwhile, at least to delineate the built-and-served (e.g. Iowa, Yamato) from the never-finished (e.g. Lion, Amagi), the ordered but then cancelled (e.g. Montana), the blueprint hypotheticals (e.g. Monarch) and the paper exercises (where do I start? LOL). So much has changed from when you first did these (specifically the captain skills and how easy or not it was to get them) that a Redux version is long overdue.
I remembered when I first played World of Warships... I was obsessed with the power of Battleships, But I always founds Destroyers interested, I remeber when I first bought 2 DDs, The USS Sampson, and the SMS V-25, I liked both, the The Sampson wasn't my favorite over the 2, but heck, I had a TON Of fun in the Sampson, the Sampson and V-25 are memorable to me for being the first DD's where I actually had fun (The Nassau was slow and inaccurate then Stormtroopers)

Ahh yes, you are right, the quick math died and the US only used like two torpedo sizes... ever... 21" was the most common by a long shot for both submarine AND surface ship launched torpedoes. Thanks for the correction! :D
Not going to lie, this is a soft way for me to feel out making WoWs content again (trying to avoid burnout) while I grind out the new lines and figure them out... it's just easier and less risk to me! :)
You can torp from Stealth with Sampson too... it just requires a different technique and more luck. The detection range of the ship is more than the torpedoes though.
Another commentor pointed that out! The US used very few torpedo diameters and I brain fated when I was making the video... I also don't convert millimeters to in inches my head very quickly so that doesn't help!
