- Alrighty, lets keep going on the How to Play series and talk about Wickes. As a T3 destroyer, the USS Wickes is a solid contender with decent guns, decent torps, and great manueverability. We are going to spend our time looking at tactics in this video that apply to all USN Destroyers and not just Wickes. The gameplay chosen is a small T3 match. It has been chosen intentionally to display the tactics we will use in later ships! Pay attention! :D

Any plan on doing a How To Play French DD series? I would really love to watch that.
We will see if I decide to go down that path. Not going to lie, not exactly loving the direction of the game at the minute. Makes it hard to grind through lines.

Lambert Wickes, Revolutionary war hero. Did what John Paul Jones did, only Wickes did it first. Unfortunately he and his records went down with his ship off the coast of Newfoundland. That's why he doesn't get the credit he deserves today. Plus Wickes was NOT a reformed slave trader, so there's that too.
It has been awhile since I played WoWs but I don't remember having many matches at T-3 thru T-6 which didn't feature 3 CVs per side. Maybe 1 in 15 games had none but 2 to 3 per side was the norm I'd estimate 80% of the time. While the tactics you demonstrate are sound the _strategy_ against CVs when one lacks any real AA is very different. I hope you will address this in the future since I fear a new player will watch your match then run up against 3 CVs coordinating attacks upon them and become very frustrated when it seems the _tactics_ don't work.
The Clemson video will be with two CVs on each team. Clemson has the same AA.
Also, 3 CV per team? Haven't seen that since CBT 6 years ago.
@@Whiskey11Gaming 3 CVs were the norm at Tier 5 when I leveled up DDs for both the USN and IJN lines last fall. I remember Flambass checking some statistics for EU and noting that T-5 was the worst with 80% of their matches having 2 or more CVs per side and 70% having 3.

They are propeller guards since the props are outside the profile of the hull.
