This is my favorite kind of aesthetic (not just pixelated vibes but the detailed rendering) so I'd be happy with any games that look like this tbh. A digimon game like this would just be icing on the cake.
I gotta say I like the OG way of putting drawings into the psx graphics, makes for a unique asthetic. But yeah I would play the heck out of this if they polish the game a little and add interesting stuff. Sadly thats not happening, "recent" digimon world games have been more and more generic...

Dude i played/lived this game with my whole neighborhood like crazy...playing tournaments with our memory cards and just enjoying easier times. Thanks for this nostalgia trip! Love it
Those days were the best sometimes. If you wanted to play something like Digimon or Pokémon you had to actually meet up and battle while you socialised. Takes a lot more effort these days.
File city at night is a whole mood. Never got far or did well at this game but the pure uniqueness and soul it had will always make it legendary to me.
I would pay big money for a remake with that art style that expands zones, digimons and evolution lines. Awesome tracks and pixel art! Thanks a lot for sharing!
This game was my first real immersive experience with the Digimon franchise. I watched the anime first, then played around a little with the keychain games, but when this game came into my hands, I spent so much time on it, trying to find all the digimon and trying to raise all the different ones.
You what m8? Noone appreciates that game it commonly gets thrown away for being excessive with the fetch quests and stuff but personally I liked that about the game as a kid, where in the first one I was afraid to explore too far away from file city you had to see every nook and cranny in 3. It was pretty neat and starting me down that road of literally checking behind everything for a hidden npc or other shenanigans. Lol

Perhaps its because we are old that we appreciate "pixel game". Looking beyond flashy cutting-edge graphics and finding a much more based, simpler enjoyment in our favourite hobby. Games are an art form (perhaps an amalgamation of different arts but still an art form as a whole) and as such every rule of thumb of art applies! I guess for Pixel Games it's "Beauty in simplicity"

File city night theme. The amounts of hours I’ve spent with it as a kid. Listening to it now feels so surreal like those times was a dream I had long ago. Good times.
Well this is just about the best thing I have stumbled upon on here. The original Digimon World is a top 10 of all time for me, the soundtrack is so nostalgic. Next 0rder was a great return to the series, but man...that original is hard to beat.
Can't believe I was never able to beat this game as a kid/teenager! These songs are ingrained into the core of my memory. Probs 500+ hours on this game. Anyway, I really enjoyed this take on the music. As well as the memories you clearly involved from within me. That art style is mesmerizing too!!
You got me crying nostalgic tears here I love this game so much and it reminds me of my late grandmother since she bought me the game thinking it was pokemon when I was in elementary school the music has always stuck to me and I hope I can make something like this in chiptune one day to commemorate this game. I have put so many hours throughout my life in this game xD

Just discovered this incredibly talented individual and have been streaming their masterpiece. Definitely not the hero we deserved, but the one we needed.❤
We need a remake like this, dropping the 3D and going for a more 2D feel. I used to play this game with my brother when I was a teenager. Boy, the memories... thank you!
Considering Digimon World leaned very heavily on pre-rendered visuals, it was largely pretty 2D in technical terms anyway, as the backgrounds were just flat, textured planes with multiple layers. The only thing 3D provided to this game was differing perspective. That said, it should be possible to utilize shaders to make 3D models simulate hand-drawn pixel art. This would allow you to easily achieve differing perspectives without drawing new sprites, and make it easy to scale to higher resolutions. Lighting would be much cleaner, and can be more readily tailored and tuned as well, as opposed to the simplistic color filters present in the original. I think even a 2d pixel-art style game could benefit from more advanced lighting.
Younger people these days hate 2D and think it's "retro/pixel shit", it's also more expensive to make than 3D (allegedly) so it's basically relegated to indie territory. It's a shame, but people have bad taste and companies want to save money 🥲
@@ChibiFlonne it's a fighting game but Fighters Z was an insanely popular release, and it's mostly 2d. I agree with what you said, but I do believe there is a market

To clarify I'm a big fan of sprites and 2D, I think the NDS digimon games had some of the best graphics in the series but that sadly devolved into the blurry looking mess that is cyber sleuth 😴
