as an ancient super old near turning to ash decrepit senior gamer who had been playing game since the age of pong way before there is even the concept of console game , and a big lover of rpg genre , this ost compilation hit me hard in my kokoro , i so dearly missed my youth, way back when t-rex still roam the street , ah bitter sweet nostalgia

Finally a relaxing JRPG compilation where the person making it understood the assignment. So many of them have battle themes once you get about 4 tracks in. This is perfect.

playing through the originals right now on steam deck with emulation. man, i love the art style and the story and the characters and everything... but the gameplay did not age well. very repetitive, very unforgiving if you die in the middle of a dungeon (thank god for quicksaves lol), and unforgiving if you weren't collecting virus cores all the way up to the last boss (if not, prepare for the grind of your life xD)

I still remember playing the games with my friends when I was in middle school, this made me so happy.
Despite loving the series, I never made it to the last game. I struggled with the beginning of 3, where you have to do a dungeon as Kite alone. He got all my extra stat items and was grinded as far as I could in the previous game, but the monsters in the dungeon always killed me before I could even reach them 😣(not many walkthrough forums during that time either)
I still pray for Nintendo to bring them to Switch so I can finally redeem myself

Its good to see Starlight Canyon in the list, its the song (along with balance valley) that I use to chill after a bad day.
It's cool to see that Im not the only one who will be using it to chill!

BATEN KAITOS RETURNS IN SEPTEMBER ON THE 14TH AND 15TH!!! Ahhh.. I cried tears of physical joy on my way to work. That game is my favorite jrpg of all time. And now I can finish my Nostalgia in current time!

This mix is incredible. I find myself playing 2:58:01 on loop constantly, because it's one of my favorite town themes in any game. I'd love to see another mix like this in the future!

Desert Flower from Tales of Symphonia is one of my favorite tracks. That's also the part of the game where it feels like it STARTS in earnest. You have a full party, you're on your way to the first real temple, and of course... the DESIANS get up to their SHENANIGANS. Damn now I want to replay it again.
