You actually find quite a few gaming sessions among the Astartes and Primarchs in the Heresy series and other books! Not just Regicide, but tabletop battle!
See if he had’ve paid more attention to the rules of his brother’s game he would’ve realised that the lictor had finished its assault movement short having failed to reach him. That’s why it was left standing on the table.
Now that would be odd so what it waits there and lets you take your turn you get to take your turn of running away like a scared little girl for what like 4 m lol

Love the idea the Hivemind completely understands human psychology and decides it's too weak to incorporate into itself. Brutal levels of rejection.
where did it say anything about incorporating human nature into itself?
I loved the brief mention of scale issues with the minis even in the 41st millennium
The epilogue and inferences of humanities inferiority and by extension, the emperor's lies, was WELL done
It really is the best part.

This is the sort of story I enjoy hearing the existential horror of not being the apex predator any more
Out of all the factions in the 40k universe to possibly fight against, the Tyranids always feel like any attempt to do so would be completely futile.
Fighting every faction as a Frontline human is hopeless. The only one you possibly have a chance of surviving is the Ork.

And yet the Tyranids are the ones that must be fought. The rest are not genocidal towards humanity just aggressive.
@@jrr7031 the Tau wouldn't be too bad. Not great, but they at least take prisoners, and they don't come in overwhelming numbers or try to inflict pain for fun.

File this as a top tier example to give someone when you are trying to describe “Grimdark”.
Oh how lovely a Tyranid story, I feel as if the actual stories don’t live up to the “buggyness” of the true horrors they bring. I feel this one was perfect as from an inquisitive child’s perspective it takes you back to your younger days of “I wish I’d never opened that door” the fear his father has but refuses to show because he can’t break in front of his son who idolises him... the fear that’s spreading across the entirety of the planet with little to no hope as yes the Astropath got a message out, but lots of times those messages go unheard for years. And then it arrives...
That is why this is a 10/10 top teir Tyranid story
We need more of fan narrated audiobooks. I’ve discovered a lot of not well known author lately via fans narration.

A darker and truer 40k than in most books and audio dramas from BL.
This story has many layers of Lovecraftian elements to this, and once more you outdone yourself in showing the horrors of the Grim Darkness of the Future.
I thought that too when reading through it. I think Lovecraft and Warhammer themes meld well together

Your stories throw the listener into the brutal and unforgiving world of 40k and I absolutely love it, I hope your channel flourishes in the future.

@@zayneserrano9027 I've written two pieces myself, "All the Gods are Dead'" and "Skull takers". My most recent narrations have been entries for the horror writing competition I ran for Halloween and I've also been extremely lucky with the calibre of authors who have sent me work!

These are so damn good, I didn't sleep last night because I've binged these like meth.
The story was already hitting hard enough - and then _Alexanderplatz_ got mentioned as place of a last stand, an existing locality not too far from where I'm living.. ⚜️💀⚙️
This channel is the only one that made me feel the true threat of the tyrannids,they are not shown to be as dangerous and lethal as they are here there is absolutely no escape from them once they come in mass
Whoever bloody wrote this is really good. It's hard to be so violent especially with children involved and still drag the reader into the shoes of one of desperate grimdark on the hourly imperium dwellers and be fighting something so terrifyingly alien.

I've listened to years of lore, audio books, etc. about 40k. Much of it tends to be laced with hope, or of a certain technical nature which dulls the horror. Stories like this one bring it all back. There is no hope, only war.
That's my outlook on 40k. Never been a fan of hope personally 😜

After binging this channel all day after work, I can happily say you've earned a new subscriber. You bring so many of these tales so much life. I'm shocked I haven't heard of this channel before
this story made me once more not regret starting with the tyranids they are a nice conzept which fits in the darkness and horror of 40k, they remind me of lovecraftian monsters which i like or h.r.gigers xenomorph. it is rumord that 2023 the nids will get a new model release which i am here for. are there any good tyranid boocks out there that capture the horror of these all consuming space dinosaur bugs and in what boock is this story?

I couldnt help but hope for them surviving, but when Fer£$ took the hit, i knew that was the end for @tt@ too. Absolutely amazing author.

I’m still processing what Hawthorn was thinking 🤔 I can’t help but emotionally disagree with him but his logic has a resonance of truth to it. There’s 1 way to defeat the Nids, at the moment the battle is lost release the life eater virus, pragmatic I know 🤷♂️ but sometimes you just have to ask yourself “what would Perturabo do?” Lol
That strategy results in the loss of the planet where said virus is released so mutual destruction at best. Furthermore, the Tyranid are highly adaptive. Upon experiencing the virus once they would probably become immune. They've done so before against Nurgle made daemonic diseases so a human made virus would be easier to overcome.

Deathleaper wasn't the one that attacked the manor. Rather, it was a regular Lictor.
Lichtors are literally the stuff of terrible nightmares. Ultimate assassins/terror troops designed infiltrate and find prey, find weaknesses, and wreak havoc.

I always wondered why imperial planets dont have slef destruct caches. i mean, you know the plant will be wiped out by Tyranids so when the battle is lost, slef nuke the planet. i know its done when a fleet ship can sneak in, but some trully protected self destruct plan on the planet should he by now everywhere
