What a pleasure to listen to this intelligent conversation. I just finished George Prochnik’s wonderful book on Zweig and am about to start his Scholem book. He’s been a valuable discovery for me .

    Wow.
My great grandfather's name happens to be Christian heine, which in one book I read was at least a pen name he had used, I happen to be a pianist, who is greatly interested in philosophy, romance, revolution......have always spoke especially recently on how I don't think many people besides Leonard Cohen has EVER put poetry effectively to music....not knowing who wrote schuberts words to these songs.
So many weird things have lead me to him.....and as I typed that you said the words about the possiblity of not being able to escape your predecessors.....
This morning I heard Marianne williamson quote him while announcing her intention to run for us presidency in 2024....which would take no less than at very least a revolution at the ballot box to come to pass....
I'm just thrilled at every discovery about this man for one reason or another whether personal, political, poetic, or philosophical ❤❤😊

My families' name was Heine before they moved here, USA, and changed it to Hyne 1901 because of WW1's
    dispersion on anything German. Interesting.
