I remember, it was like 2013-14 when I found this gem and back then it was absolutely free. I was SO happy because when I was very little, HL-1, Opposing force were one of my most determinate games in my life. I really adored this game. Hope that a remarkable OF remake is on the way as well.

Edit: The closest thing you will get to a black mesa redux is the black mesa definitive edition beta that recently came out official from crowbar collective.
The definitive edition isn’t really a “redux” either, it just has better graphics and more level of detail.

Redux shotgun is great. Reminds me alot of the HD shotgun from the original HL1 both in looks and beefier sounds, which I personally prefered over the non HD shotgun
The second handle on the Gluon is actually used for alternative fire, but it was cut. I guess BMS devs didn't put that into account, but it's fine nonetheless.

Those are actually the HEV arms made by Thanez. They were used in the Animation Revamp pack for the beta, which consisted of IIopns reanimations. Someone else just ported the arms to the retail version.

The 2015 Shotgun doesnt even Look like a Spas 12 (The weapon Name)
Looks like some kind of weird prototype
They tried to make the Spas to look like the 1998 design, but with all of this high level of realism, this design doesn't fit very well. No wonder why in Redux they reused the real life version of Spas
Its pretty important you say the number after it cause there is two spas da 12 (the one in game) and da 15 (a kinda USAS 12 looking semi/pump shotty) wich are PRETTY DIFFERENT

Well it's a spas 12 with its last design after going discountinued and not producting anymore spas12 and it's not inspired at all by HL HD it seems a normal spas 12 not the weirdo last design and probably they did not have it with this weird design cause the game was created in 1998

Why not? Adds a bit of flair. HL1 animations would have looked too primitive in this engine, and HL2 animations are old school and many don't work on the weapons used in HL1. How would you be able to reuse an HL2 animation for say, the MP5?

I must say the vanilla has most flaws. Smg sounds shit and it's flame particle is poor. The right click on shotgun sounds shit too. I also really dislike the tau cannon redesign. And the fact that you can no longer spam with pistol. We played with a friend and i got shocked when i noticed you can't pick up dead headcrabs. I don't know if that's still there but it was pain. I love the good old Black Mesa.

@@acorncz4752 the pistol spamclick tech was nerfed because it was stupidly op and outright superior to the mp5. you can still altfire for decent speed but with an accuracy loss, which is more balanced
