Totally agree. Gran Turismo is a one-off. The earlier and later stuff might be good in other ways but everything really fell into place on GT. One superb track after another. Shout out to their producer too.
Nina said they won’t record again. Let’s face it- they were a 90’s band. The two albums they recorded in the early noughties were cool, but without the mainstream fanfare and the bands original freshness, it wasn’t the same thing... Also, without wanting to get too muso-intellectual on yo ass, I think the melancholy aspect of the Cardigans spoke to the general dejection of generation X, and we’ve moved past that now. Today we live in the era of idiocracy. It’s a different time.
I've seen Nina Persson and A Camp live several times but, sadly, The Cardigans haven't come to the United States in years. So, next time they announce a mini-tour I'm buying a plane ticket! They sound great here.
Ladies and gentlemen,,, this is modern art,, an epitome of beatitude,, if ancient cultures had our museum artifacts,, we have the cardigans,, weep with joy y'all ,,, here is ,,,, X
@@SteveMullington Hahaha I only very recently started listening to them deeper than just Lovefool or My Favourite Game...I wholeheartedly recommend you listen to their first album (as well as their second and third respectively if you haven't lololol I love them all), it's a truly beautiful collection of some grand songs!! With every one I listen to I seem to enjoy their music more and more...

Gran Turismo is their best album. Sounds like nothing before it, and after. This album is heavy, electric, dark, beautiful, haunting and iconic. 10/10

I wish they’d perform more Emmerdale/Life songs. Emmerdale is a classic pop album.

Why did they leave the stage to the theme tune from Emmerdale Farm?
Their first album was titled "Emmerdale"!
