Just found your channel and glad to see another one of the old girls saved from the scrapper. These videos have given me the bug to get my old '68 F-100 back on the road after sitting for too many years. Keep going, you'll get that one on the road soon enough!
Never let others drag you down, at least you’re enjoying yourself n learning how to wrench! Definitely need to take the Truck down to frame, address the rust on the farm there is products to treat it n stop the rust. Fix all the body rust, clean it good n paint or clear coat it but stopping the rust is key, You got the new drive train coming, but you must replace every wire in that truck they are donezo! That truck must have been flooded at some point! Vehicles need quality grounds or nothing works right! Need to put all new lights n fixtures the old ones are corroded n need replaced. I would recommend electronic ignition n fuel injection it’s the easiest way to get the engine running properly n you won’t have to worry about gas fouling your carburetor, new gas sux ass! But look 👀 forward to seeing you work, you definitely like things clean neat n orderly! That’s what makes you fun to watch!
The added electrical little box with 2 terminals is a 30amp circuit breaker for power to that dual battery isolator box. They're also used for the charge wire going to a trailer plug.
Thanks man! Yes, I still have the dragon's C6....It's in better shape for sure but I think I'm going order a build C6 from TCI. It should be real nice!
Those were on my dads 64 galaxie when he bought it in 99, they were all rusted out on the bottom and sounded horrible combined with that timing chain ready to fall off lol.
I would nix the ideal of the rear fuel tank unless you are going to remove the pickup bed. I have a 1992 F150 with dual tanks. I had to replace both fuel tanks after I bought the truck in July 0f 2014. The front tank was a piece of cake but the read tank was a pain in the butt. I did this with the pickup bed still on the truck. If you are set on a rear tank than you are going to have to add a fuel door on the side of the truck bed . I'm guess the best way to do that is to cut one out of a later model pickup bed that has a rear fuel tank and grafting it to the 68 truck bed.
-- I concur with the addition of an end of the bed, between the rails, Mustang type fuel tank. You must account for getting gas INTO the tank after installing one. The two basic schools of thought there are the side of the bed inlet or the up through the bed inlet. Which is easier? Most folks agree that the bed floor inlet is the far easier way to go. The one main downside is that the inlet is on the bed floor... so if you haul anything in the bed that covers up the inlet, you've got to remember to make sure you've got plenty of gas in the tank before loading up and covering the inlet! A lesser downside for some folks is that you're cutting an opening in the bed floor. If your bed is in poor shape, that may not mean much but if it's in good shape or better? It makes you want to cringe when you cut it open. My best advice for a bed floor opening is to fab up a solid tube with a locking cap that is held in place via a fabbed up bracket which bolts to the frame (you may be able to scavenge pre-made and useable parts from an existing vehicle so look into that!). You can connect it to the tank with a flexible rubber fuel line. Mount it so that the locking cap is below the bed floor! For a cover, use the piece of the bed floor that you carefully cut out. Fab up some plates which can be welded to the bottom side of the bed... which your "cover" can sit on. Yes, some folks will make a hinged arraignment for the cover but that takes more fab work. How does it all work... does it work? Yes, if you plan it out and do a good job. How does it look? That all depends on your fab skills and how much time you put into it! I've seen cringeworthy, Johnny Gas Hatchet butchery and I've also seen top notch, show worthy beauty. What you end up with depends on the effort and skill you put into it. For top notch results... plan it out and mock it up. You can accomplish a very accurate mock-up with cardboard and duct tape so don't be afraid to pick up some boxes and tape from the grocery store while you're there. You'll thank yourself if you do. Best wishes! - Max Giganteum
If everything is toast on that thing, it would be a great candidate for a short bed conversion. I had a '67 half ton short bed with the 390/C-6 in it. I loved it too. Yours would look better with "grandpa accessories" taken off too.
Excellent video CT :) also see on right that chrome by orange turn singal guy most had CB radio with 102 whip with spring or Truckers whip that wild for sure! Also yes when get all clean underneath hood would spray bomb so paint of red and black on rust spots so looks nice ! Also when do Carburetor orders if don't want hand choke cable just manual one not electric to but use Choke cable for hold throttle open when starting up engine or like Cruise Control with gas pedal be done to that before! Also C6 transmission think clutches plates or broke gears has happened CT that metal parts from in transmission pan ! Best get complete rebuilt one for sure and new electrical wire harness all parts need! Speedometer cable yes get new one too be great idea's! Looking forward more videos too soon watch on this truck !
Why didn't you just unhook it? From the cross member and unbolt across memory and drop it out. The bottom and drag it out. Are you gonna head to have done this, Jack? The front put some Jack stands under it. And it could've been slipped right out and out me. You're making things difficult for yourself.
Wouldn’t it be better to use the right size spanner rather then using a adjustable and destroying your fitting and your knuckles, Most of the bolts and studs and fittings would be around certain sizes A/F especially in the engine compartment and transmission. 🇬🇧🇮🇪.
-- Constructive criticism... at approximately 26:15... another prime example of what NOT to do! Why oh why do folks create so much extra work for themselves? You grabbed a bunch of things one by one and promptly threw them out of the engine bay and onto the concrete. Then you had to go back and pick all the same items off the concrete and put them into file zero. Wouldn't it have been better to put them into file zero in the first place? Hello! McFly!! 🤔🤦🏻♂ - Max Giganteum
While you’re out venturing around find me a 53-56 F100! Finders fee I’ll pay! 1/2 ton preferably 53 50th Anniversary! I know I’m asking for a lot but never know?
Junk the transmission. I think those are pieces of the gears in the transmission. Don't think it's salvageable. Be better getting one off a junk yard truck . That truck went through a lot of water, seal broke and flooded transmission with water causing it to lock up.
-- Pieces of gears?!? I saw no pieces of any gear. What might have been in the pan were pieces of the friction plates from a clutch pack but it isn't easy to tell via the video footage. As for being salvageable, I saw no reason that this trans cannot be rebuilt. NONE. In fact, that's what I'd do - break it down, clean it up, fully inspect it then put it back together. I'll concede that there might be some undesirable things going on inside the case but you'll find out what's what upon disassembly. Based on what was in the pan, I doubt there will be any catastrophic damage. Best wishes! - Max Giganteum

I'm checking in to see if you're building anything, guess not. More dismantling. See ya next year.
Let's see a comment from you on the next video. We have something amazing built! =) If you're only checking in once a year you are missing out buddy.
Красивый грузовик! Мне нравится! Классное получилось видео! Круто Круто!!!👍👍👍
Thank you!!!! =)
That battery lead you said was the ground cable is positive . Because the relay is for the starter motor
Good to know. Thank you!
Correct
You may want to consider a new engine bay wire harness from someone such as American Autowire. Just a thought.
Good idea. I will check them out. Thanks man!
That was fun CT! Hope you enjoyed a week of filming for us in the hot Florida sun. Thank God it’s January and not July.
Thanks man! No problem! I enjoy being out in the sun. It's good times especially this time of year! =)

oh cool, thanks for the info.
what's going on with the 914, are we getting there?
not yet....=)
Great videos on this truck. Looking forward to the next stage. Great work so far. 👍
Thank you! 👍
I know for sure when you're done with this truck. It's going to be a beautiful ride. A beautiful ride, keep up a good word.
Thank you! Yes, it's going to be a sweet ride!
There maybe a lot of stuff wore out on this truck but it’s definitely worth saving and you’re doing a great job with it.
Thanks man! Yes, it's going to be really cool!
The struggle is real - you got this.
Yes it is...Thank you!
If you still have it, the Dragon's transmission might be another choice. Good video!
Thanks man! Yes, I still have the dragon's C6....It's in better shape for sure but I think I'm going order a build C6 from TCI. It should be real nice!
Love those old Ford trucks
me too! Thanks man! =) more to come!
Good.job cool FORD Nice show 👍👍👏👏👏
Thanks 👍
Those are blue streak glass packs, we bought a 64 ford galaxie with them, they sounded great, broken it old glass packs usually do.
very cool! I might hold onto them and see how they sound.
Those were on my dads 64 galaxie when he bought it in 99, they were all rusted out on the bottom and sounded horrible combined with that timing chain ready to fall off lol.
🖤 I love these new videos….and I can’t wait to see Red’s progression 🖤
Hi Ct
I hope you get your truck to look it brand new.
Thanks Kevin!

Hi guys, you've done a great job👍
Thank you! 😃
I was surprised there wasn't a "lollipop" in the transmission pan. Looks like previous owner actually changed the fluid and filter at least once.
Really good watch...nice job
Thank you! =)
@@CTmoog keep up the solid work....thank you

The small box with three terminals is your horn relay
good to know. thank you!
That part by the Solenoid with the three prongs is the horn relay
Have you forgot the finnish word for more power? PERKELE! Regards Stig Österberg from Dalsbruk in Finland.
haha! =)
You are persistent I'll give you that that's a good looking ol truck my friend
Thanks Billy! Wait till you see the rebuilt engine! It looks awesome! =)
@@CTmoog I'm looking forward to it
That engine has never had a oil change in its life
Where the hell is the damn beetle?
for rebuilding that ford c6 automatic transmission, in this day and age fuckin A (absolutely) yes rebuild it! 😁
Thanks man! =)

👍👍👍🇧🇷🛻🛻 show de bola parabéns pela transformação da Forde
Thanks buddy! =)
I'm thinking that you get a rebuilt one and send the old one in for a core credit.
Yes, that's a good idea! =)
That guy needs to keep that under the dash heater box with that truck those are hard to find
They are available aftermarket for around $40
Wouldn’t it be better to use the right size spanner rather then using a adjustable and destroying your fitting and your knuckles, Most of the bolts and studs and fittings would be around certain sizes A/F especially in the engine compartment and transmission. 🇬🇧🇮🇪.
The steering box is a Bendix unit. They are expensive to rebuild. I had Red Head Gear do it and it was $600
It's not really a showroom car . 🙂
But you will fix it . 👍
You mentioned the gas tank in the rear . But isnt it dangerous in case of a crash ?
Thanks buddy! The rear location on this truck is probably the safest place for it.
Can you retro fit this truck with a HVAC system from a 80's or 90's F150?
That stuff is your clutches. Needs to be rebuilt2 😢.
Yes, this one has seen better days. I ordered a rebuild unit from TCI. Can't wait to install it.
They make a gas cap delete plate that you weld up the hole. Then do alittle body work and no more gas cap hole
If that truck has two fuel tanks then what shape is the other one in?
Both tanks are rusted bad...
1965 vw finished?
yes, did you watch the first drive video?
I think there is a metal piece you take off the bottom and slide the transmission out the other way not coming out of the engine bay
I like watching your channel but watching you use a crescent wrench drives me nuts! Lol
haha! Yes, I have issues.... =)
Mine was a 360 with 3 on the tree
very cool!
LMC has fuel tanks available
First thing working on cars is label everything you disconnect and where it goes so wen you put it back you are not guessing
The mufflers are original Blue Streak
Yes, I guess they are the real deal.

I would say you need a new wiring harness
yes, it's pretty crispy! Thank you! =)
Clyde scrap the caddy 🤣🤣
Right turn Clyde!
Looks like someone did that trick that makes it last just a bit longer, SAWDUST in the oil
oh boy....yes you might be right about that...
yep that is a speedo cable
haha! Thanks buddy....
