There are literally laws being rammed in front of state representatives every day that make existing as a trans person in public illegal. there is a law that passed in Tennessee in the last few months that makes being gay in public at all illegal. Obviously you can’t rightly know someone is gay if they look “normal” so this law is specifically targeting people who are transitioning or do not acceptably dress to their gender. This is a very frightening time for queer people. You probably don’t realize because you won’t listen. I hope you have a day 😘
As a lesbian, I concur. It was so hard to come into accepting who I really was, mostly because of peer pressure. Took me a long time to come out. Even though I had known for years how I felt. Every time someone asked me why I didn't have a bf I would sidestep the question and make fun of it rather than actually answering the question. And when I did so many people I considered to be friends of mine or close to me shunned me. It was a really hard time for me. But once I accepted who I was and the people who loved me regardless of my sexuality are the people who actually cared about me. Me coming out showed some of my "friends" true colors. But nowadays, I'm happier than ever. I am engaged with the love of my life.

Especially since you refer to trans folks as "these people", and don't understand what it's like to be a trans person struggling with their identity. I highly recommend going out and meeting more people (not just trans folks, but people from all walks of life) and listening to them - actually listening to them, mind you, which does take some maturity, but I have faith that all people can learn and grow, given the chance - before making judgements.
It's easy to judge when you see people as the 'other' without first trying to get to know them.
It might also help you become a better friend, when the time comes that someone comes to you for help - don't assume you immediately know what's best for a group of people you clearly have never actually listened to or tried to connect with.

I wouldn’t call myself a “fan” of sunnyV2 but I digest a lot of this type of documentary type content while working. I must say this video definitely caught me off guard. I saw it within the first hour it came out and I already knew that backlash was coming. I couldn’t believe his takes and that’s the first time I’ve seen something like that come from him.

I feel like they are possibly misinterpreting the discomfort. I see it, but wouldn't it be more reasonable to say that the awkwardness is that they know that one of their close friends is going through a hard time; with separation and now hate from people on the internet and strangers having opinion on their parenting. That can't be easy for Chris, and certainly can't be easy to see a friend go through this either.
