it's hard for me to watch other multi tool channel reviews, yours always seem so definitive in that you're fair, not overly idealistic and stick to what to expect from price point, etc. in spite of being a multitool guru, you're nevertheless not a multi tool snob by any means, making your reviews accessible to us lower level guys. i got a center drive, but was looking at more budget options since i'm too afraid of losing my expensive ones, cuz i have a tendency to lose things.
I look forward to and watch all your videos. I appreciate the unbiased reviews. You mention sharpening a lot and as a newbie to edc, it would be helpful to see your sharpening system for pocket knives. And I would find it interesting to see reviews of pocket sharpeners or just to hear your opinion on them.
I want to thank you for watching my channel. I will make it a point to get to the sharpeners in the future. I get pretty busy with work sometime, so it may be a bit before I can get to them.
Price went up on Gerber I paid $55.20 CDN for mine,it looks smaller in the pouch which is kind of flimsy but I like it.. I feel that shell should be thicker to add strength..Lethermans are expensive in Canada 🇨🇦 and anywhere else..
I have the original Center Drive multi-tool and two of the Suspension NXT multi-tools and I didn't expect them to be as good as the tools they are taking the place of, but they work for me, especially the Center Drive.
My Juice S2 scissors had the same problem as yours: not springing back open properly. Then the guy I bought it from said to lubricate the tension bar. Well, it worked, and they've sprung back open just fine ever since.
I've just been given a gerber suspicion multi tool by someone and I've got to say it's not bad at all it's a little different than the one you're reviewing but for the price it's a fantastic little bit of kit
I think the Truss is more fairly comparable to the Leatherman Wingman ( which costs $20 more than the Truss). For the price I think the Truss is very good for more every day carry light duty. And due to the abysmal nature of the Center Drive cutters ( I truly cannot believe the both the Gerber R&D department as well as marketing let those low quality cutters be put on the market. I would rather buy 3Trusses than a Center Drive which I do own and with good cutters it would be awesome, but hence it is not. Great review by the way @Texas Toolcrib
Great review yet again bud, I mos-def enjoy your content kind Sir. I already have a Gerber Suspension, so the Truss 4 me will probably fall in line with it being a good multi-tool for my kid, I have a 1st generation Wave, w/out a bit changer, but a recent purchase of the Surge 2 tone with ext. & bits, has me covered well, I found it 2 be better than my Centerdrive, and of course, Opinions always vary. Thank you for your time kind Sir.🙏
Nice review! I feel a bit blasphemous for saying this because I am such a Leatherman fan; but a few months ago I was able to pick up the Swiss tool Spirit X (on sale) and I really like the tool set better than my Wave +. The Spirit X seems more well rounded in the tool set as opposed to the the Wave. Both very solid multi-tools.
I really like the Spirit X, however I tend to lean a little more towards the Wave+ because of the one handed blades. I did a review on both of these multi tools. Hope you have a chance to check those out. They are both very solid multi tools. I grade both of them an A grade. Each is very solid in its own right. Thank you for watching.
I don’t see the point of carrying a larger multitool that houses smaller tools. Add the fact that these are lower grade tools and your bound to be disappointed with performance. This is a good example of saving your money to buy what you really need the first time.
I agree with that statement. Although I will say that not everyone has the same mindset nor necessarily need the higher level multi tools to accomplish what they need.

Thanks(!) to this channel, really thinking about 1. picking up that Leatherman kit (timestamp 12:48 for reference) for my little starter Suspension NXT and 2. adding those Wiha double-ended hex bits (discussed at th-cam.com/video/Oe7aIV4bGLI/w-d-xo.html ) later on

can you give me an example of what you would use it for?

Lol. Well my choice is still the Leatherman surge. It’s hard to argue that Victorinox doesn’t make some great multi tools though.
As for the center Drive if you fall down the extra bit holder it cuts a lot better

Have you checked out the Multiforce by Ozark Trail from Walmart? It's actually good for $38. If you haven't yet you should check it out.
I see you’ve already seen my review on it before I got the chance to respond.
Yes I did. It's a pretty good tool surprisingly for a Walmart item.
Got one coming in the mail. It's just a backup in my toolbox in case I lose my Leatherman.

Why not just carry a knife to make up for the shorter knife on the truss?

Hands down the Ozark Trail Multiforce for $37 is better than the Truss. I really DO NOT like the Gerber tools at all. Just so chunky too.

For me its too bulky
Crappy tool set to just add up on the count. Had a few Gerber MTs didn’t care for them and actually gave them away
Certainly not the best tool set, but it’s fairly inexpensive also.
It’s too expensive tool for 30 dollars
