- “The real estate agents here are allowed to represent both sides, and in fact, notary publics are allowed to represent both sides in a transaction. As an English lawyer, I see a very big red flag there as a very clear conflict of interest.” - Mark Teuten, Teuten & Associates.
I talked to Mark Teuten, who leads Teuten and Associates, a team providing a range of legal and notarial services. He’s originally from the UK and is the only lawyer in Uruguay to qualify for the bar both in the UK and Uruguay. He's accompanied many foreigners in real estate buying processes, and I'm here to pick his brain on your behalf 🔗 www.guruguay.com/teuten-law-uruguay/

Very informative Thank you 🙏
Any recommendations on real estate agents/listing sites?
Very accurate and informative, video. The only error is that the legal prescription time has gone down from 30 to 20 years. That law was changed only 3 or 4 years ago by the LUC (Ley de urgente consideración).
Thanks, Martin!
real estate agent represents both sides
