As a 14 year old myself and just reached top 8000 world wide, these tips are definitely going to help me get up there in the ranking. This guy is out of this world!
I'm 14 and top 3k in the US and top 6k in the world on ranked beatleader. I unfortunately upgraded my version to play the new OST, and I'm struggling to remodify the account.

What a lovely young guy. I’ll never be at the top of any scoreboards, too old at 72 but I listened to his tips. I need to upgrade my pc so I can link to my quest 3 and try modded maps.
Look up a tutorial for ModsBeforeFriday because you can play modded maps on your quest without a pc

I am 41, never aimed for anything but having fun, and am playing Expert+. Have fun and play regularly. Took me less than 6 months get there (unintentionally). 🍌
Funny, I am same age and picked up the game 6 months ago using it as daily workout routine :)
Burned 23 kgs so far (of course changing diet is 90% but it helps to have a sport you like), so for me Beat Saber was a game changer in motivation and I have so much fun moving my body while swinging sabers. This concept is pure gold.
Also E+ after playing about 2 months, but E+ isn't E+...it highly depends on the map. There are significantly less E+ maps left now I can't beat than 3 months ago. Some are super easy, some are incredibly hard, either in speed or tech, although I'm quite confident in complicated tech. The speed maps kill my wrists all the time, so I'm in constant conflict of trying to challenge myself and not hurting myself :(

It's been awhile since I hopped into VR and playing Beat Saber. Last I played was like a year ago at this point. But I must admit this interview was fun to watch. I also thought he gave out lots of solid tips as well.

So well spoken!! I always want my sons to play they are both 10 and 15. BUT they aren't interested in Beat Saber as much as I am. We were watching BSWC over the weekend and I showed them that most the people playing were kids, and top 100 players. They asked me "why aren't you in BSWC?" My simple reply.. "Because I am old and my wrists hate me!" XD This is easily the best game, and community I have ever played and been apart of. Part of me wants a ranking system that is 30+ only. But I know that would be hard to do. Amazing interview Naysy!!! And good luck Bytesy in BSWC this month.

I am 47 and can do some ranked and expert+. Beat Saber scratches and itch in my brain I didn't know I had. :) I do wonder what it would be like if I had been able to play this when I was younger. I would settle for discovering it when I was 30!
Actually rather interesting. I always assumed bytesy fine tuned his settings for years to get the precsion he has. He sounds a lot like gustav tbh. Gustav has told me many similar things. Its interesting how the top players seem to have figured something out that the average ranked players havent in regards to settings
I think as long as you have good enough controller settings and just stick with them, you will improve and they don’t have to be perfect because you adapt your play style to your settings

I really wish I started playing beat saber earlier im 13 and I can do expert+ songs but I started in 2022 when I was 11 :/(I guess thats still young) but of course OST 5 was already out and the community and the game was progressing quickly so it was a big learning curve

Well. I’ve had BL/ pcvr since last November so I’ve gone from 70,000 to top 2000 in 7 months so idk where that will take me in the future

Amazing vid but once I was playing beat saber on a hard map and then like my wrist everytime I hit a block my wrist would hurt and I did not care and kept playing and then like 3 days later every time I moved my wrist even not on beat saber it felt like my wrist was being stabbed with a knife and can you please heart because this took me really long to type
Yeah. It can be serious exercise and exercise can hurt you if you're not being careful and following best practices. I've learned the hard way as well, sometimes.

He uses the default grip with no modifications and controller straps off because they got in the way (as Bytesy said in the video)

"If I was like 18 I wouldn't be as good as I was now." To a 14-yr-old, 18 apparently seems "old" to play Beat Saber. Try 60. 😂 (though to be fair, I've been playing since I was a wee babe of 56) It's definitely harder the older you are: bodies don't move as fast as they used to, so Expert+ maps are for sure challenging, and some maps are just ... no. Risk of injury isn't worth it. (And a million notes per second are not fun anyway.)

I play beat saber as cardio😭🙏🏼 after the gym if I don’t do cardio there I play beat saber and play high ranked speed maps for a while and I use that as cardio

I used to be a competetive FPV Drone racer but quit because I was tired of losing to 10-14 year olds with super video thumbs, lol! I think comps need to be a little more age related. As a 70yo I'm happy to challenge anyone 70yo or older, lol! Just kidding, it's allway fun to see the younger gen perform well at anything imho. Cheers.

He says he uses the regular Quest controllers. Makes me thing the pro controllers aren't necessary after all and I just suck lol.
It's really just preference, but I would definitely recommend the pro controllers over the quest 2 controllers - they are enormous compared to most other headset controllers and much heavier. It's definitely easier to get better with pro controllers if that's what you want
