Battery life seems to be better for me after Android 14, but still not great because it was never even good to begin with. I'm charging my phone 2x a day, been doing so since launch. As long as it performs well I'll hold onto it until the battery craps out. Prior to my S22 Ultra I was on an S8+ for 4 years and only upgraded bc I was charging it 3-4x a day. When you have to bring a charger everywhere and 'babysit' the battery life, it's time to upgrade lol

It will have 2 more major Android updates, which is equivalent to any "mid ranger" in this price range. But for 430$ the latest mid rangers won't have this great of a camera, form factor, design or UI. So it was a bargain for me, although the battery is a bummer (liveable tho)

I love my S22 (the smallest one) and I set the processing speed to maximum because I love my phone to load stuff as fast as possible and then set brightbess to 25% - plenty bright for me because I stay indoors 90% of the time. I also turned off the double tap to wake/sleep feature and AOD is turned off as well. Since I can't survive without 120hz, it's turned on too. I'll get a stroke (figuratively) if I scroll my phone and the screen is 60hz.
Oh, and NFC, bluetooth, GPS, and other stuff are turned off, unless otherwise required.
This way, my S22 can last as long as possible before needing a charge, while being super duper powerful.
If I do head out, I'll make sure it's fully charged first and I'll also bring along a mini 4800mAh Powerbank just in case. I never end up needing it because with my S22's settings I mentioned earlier, the battery never drops below 20% before I'm home.

So is it worth if I buy now?

    • @BenjaminLee2009
      @BenjaminLee2009 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@charminjanivlogs I would say, if you have the money, always buy the latest and greatest. Otherwise I'd suggest getting the newer A series A55 or A35. The S23FE is pretty amazing as well. With S22's chip (if I'm not wrong) but with S23's OS and Security updates.
The reason why I say get the latest and greatest is because of OS and security updates. With the scams and spams rising, you'd need it for your security. I'm still using the S22 because samsung promised 4 years OS and 5 years security updates. So I still have about 2 to 3 years left before I'm due for an upgrade.
I'm not stopping you from buying the S22 now if there's a deal, but keep in mind that the OS and security update will run out in 2 or so years depending on when you buy it.

@pandla7675 hi there!! it's been some days I've been using the s22 ngl the experience is premium. to cut the story short, it love the UI and its just so aesthetic and its good for work too..I always use samsung notes before I bought this s22 however now that this one is smoother it take some split sec to access it too. n I've been using it on 60hz n its just smooth. 120hz is a bit overwhelming bc imo it's slides too fast lol.. so n I put all unwanted apps in sleep so the battery drainage is less. n I charge only till 85 percent so in day time I have to charge it once as I also use it for my work related stuffs. n yeah I charge my phone before it hit 30 percent. it's pretty however I'm a bit not contented with the width..Will be better if it's a little bigger.. iphone 13's width is a little bigger. but the length is perfect. and the rest is smooth af. the phone heats up a bit when I start recording video however that's not an issue for me. there is an update to do but I'm lazy.. according to some users the heat is stabled after the update.even me I thought of purchasing an iPhone however bc I was trapped 😅 in samsung's UI .. and yes the freedom of customization in android. haha that was a long update..hope it helped.

Hi, I decided to move to a samsung Galaxy phone having used a Blackberry Key2 for a number of years (I liked the physical keyboard). However this phone would not upgrade beyond Android 8 and even though I replaced the battery twice, it was losing charge within a matter of hours. As my need is only for phone calls, messages, emails and internet access (no gaming or watching videos) I figured an S22 would be a good, low cost starting point to enter the Samsung environment and it feels more than adequate for my needs (only had it a few days though). One Issue I have is that I can't find a way of creating seperate icons for my 2 non-Gmail email accounts, they both appear in the same icon. Do you know of any way of doing that? Thanks

I have to say my S22 was one of the worst phones versus contemporary phones that I have ever experienced. I got rid of it when the S23 arrived, which is a far better phone. My issues in no particular order:
1/ Exynos chips can be dumpster fires, and my S22 was a bad version, meaning:
2/ Poor battery life, 3 hours at best.
3/ Thermals were obvious with the phone getting warm doing simple tasks.
4/ Performance was laggy with jittery animations, freezing...
5/ The RAM management sucked with apps closing randomly and good luck keeping more than 6-8 apps in memory.
I would never recommend this phone and would suggest you pay extra for the S23 which fixes nearly all these issues. Samsung really trashed the S22 line in Europe and I am surprised they are risking the Exynos again in some regions for the S24. Of course, they would never release Exynos in the US as the backlash would be destructive, but who cares about Europe?

S22 is a great phone with descent battery life. Don't believe the hype.

Please stop reiterating that thus phone is "old", it is so annoying. Yes, we know that this will turn 2 years old in February 2024, but you don't need to repeat it on every sentence.

@@hoyoungwon Sorry for asking but I have a s22 ultra snapdragon and I am wondering if it's safe too update too one ui 5.1 or too one ui 6.0. I am not scared about the battery life but I am worried with the camera performance in case if it gets worse.
