Once you’re tuned it doesn’t matter if you have a Red Sport, Silver Sport, or just a base Sensory/Luxe. The engines are the same, transmissions and gearing are the same, turbos are the same etc. The Red Sport gets a second intercooler pump vs the other models but that’s it, just more boost stock bs the others. So once you’re tuned they all make the same power, and without any actual part modifications (just tuning) a Q50 Luxe will go at least 173 on the stock 18’s. That’s GPS speed. I’m Willing to bet a few more mph is possible with just a better road, so call it 175. Now downpipes, HFCs, intakes etc. would all add a bit more power so a car with full bolt Ons should be able to go a tad faster than 175, and then even more still if you were to take away some rotational mass with lighter wheels and tires. 180 or so should easily be in the cards, and the chassis is not setup for that kind of speed so anything beyond that one would probably be smart to do some suspension and braking work at minimum to start pushing the envelope further with bigger turbos and more power.
Is it just me or does limiter kick in when it wants to. I’ve noticed that the limiter for me will come on at 151 but when it cold outside the governor kicked in at 159.
I used to have a 18 red sport, they're not the most stable cars once you get above 130 mph. Maybe it was the electric steering but in general the car just wasn't made for autobahn cruising.

Check this video and let me know how much about how much of "down hill" 😂 you see while reaching those speeds 😉. And at the time was fully stock, currently ONLY modification is exhaust system.
@BMWFan177 Mine is RWD 😉. I've owned for 2 years and at the time of hitting 157, it was fully stock, no exhaust, no intake, no tune, no jb4 no nothing. I just installed the exhaust system like 2 months ago which I think you can hear a little in the video I told you to watch. Still till now, ONLY modification is exhaust, nothing else. What's the fastest yours do?
@@BMWFan177 that's nice, eventually i want to do ecutec but don't want to really risk voiding the warranty yet, but as of right now, according to my draggy, i did 4.65 0-60 and 12.80 1/4, maybe if i would of launched little harder just maybe i can do better, have to try again

Get a tune from AMS and that thing will pull strong to 175-180. Just make sure you have tires to match.
Hopefully soon, I have "Y" tires which should be capable of doing 189

Normal road use, limiter is not an issue. If you want to drive competitively, you remove it!

Lucky you, not all are limited to the same speed, I have a truck that can do 115 but I've seen others that only do 110, so might be your case as well
