    As a redhead im pretty vigilant about sunscreen especially on exposed areas like my face. However a few years back, i knew intuitively i was having issue with burns after 15 minutes of sun exposure because i wasnt building up tollerance. So i experimented with getting some sun every day in the morning and waiting to put it on till hot afternoon sun or just on days i knew ide be out in it alot. What happened is my skin took on a healthier color (i dont mean a tan, i cant tan) and was more glowing and my overall look was healthier.

    Perhaps the reason why people tell me I look young for my age is because for the past thirty years I've bathed only in dam water and I only wash a few times per week. I'm also outside everyday working on our farm and in my vegetable garden. I do have a good diet too and only drink rain water and boiled dam water. I never wear foundation makeup as I think it just looks like plastic on the skin. I gave up using sunscreen two years ago in favour of long sleeves and a large hat. But I do expose my skin for half an hour before I cover up. I'm so glad I saw this video. Now I don't have to feel bad about my lack of hygiene. My husband says that I don't smell bad at all. That's all that counts. He washes every day. And I do eat mostly plants. I'm instinctively doing all the things in this video!

    When I switched to a carnivore diet my body odor disappeared. I no longer have a need for deodorant, no foot odor, etc... even my stools are less fragrant than before. I wash my hair once a week and my skin cleared up of all kinds of conditions. I am not alone. You will find this to be true of most carnivores. It is well documented. We all talk about it A LOT. Because it is such a ... wonderful side benefit and direct outcome from switching our diet. It is not uncommon for people on carnivore diet to be asked why their eyes seem so bright, and their skin looks so good. Just an fyi here - I love your work but I think the body odor issues you are talking about come from a high protein/high carb diet. It is not the protein tho.

    I have not used any soap or shampoo or detergents in my house for nearly 20 years, only 100% natural ones. I was convinced of this so long ago. I am very sensitive to chemicals, can’t stand people’s artificial perfume etc. But from the age of 50 when I started going through menopause I have had terrible eczema. I love sun, eat a healthy diet , good water etc and still I am battling with eczema- the only negative thing is stress from bad relationships.

I did a six day cleanse (didn’t last 9 days due to a bday celebration) but by day 4 or 5 the itchy eczema all over my body was gone and has never returned. Thank goodness. Perhaps it’s worth a try.

    • @MrandMrsSparrow
      @MrandMrsSparrow 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      My thought as well. Same for Vit C - so his argument goes against that. Retinoids are drying, but when you have adult cystic acne, malasma, severe hyperpigmentation... it can make a huge difference in appearance (and that's not even delving into how drastically womens faces change during peri/menopause- which can be huge for someone's confidence & mental health.
      So if not those, then what?

    • @Klute1977
      @Klute1977 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@MrandMrsSparrow He make some interesting points about how skinflora affect the skins health and about transdermal waterloss which does indeed contribute to aging and poorer skin health but these are hardly unknown concepts in dermatology. I do wonder if Dr Bush's focus is on optimal "natural" skin health which if we are honest is not what most of us want, we want our skin to be better than it would be naturally, i.e. we want to retard aging, prevent and reverse wrinkles, age spots, sagging etc.
      I have a great aunt who lived her whole life on a Scottish Hebridean Island and lived her life largely within the principles outlined in this presentation she was fit and healthy into her 90's working her croft and I doubt she every owned a cosmetic and never used any sunscreen in her life but she looked aged, wrinkled and covered in brown spots in her 50's. Photos of her at my age, mid 40's show a woman who looks old enough to be my grandmother and we're the same age! The difference is that I have used tretinoin for 25 years, I use sunscreen daily and I use vitamin C serums which are proven to help with skin aging and it all works.
      I do avoid facial soaps and I only cleanse my skin once in the evening which I feel does help my skin retain its moisture barrier. Dr Bush also gives incorrect information about Vitamin D, SPF does not prevent the body from making Vitamin D the issue is more likely to be not going outside or living in a climate where there isn't much sun, in Scotland we are all advised to supplement with Vitamin D due to low sun exposure.
      As for skin changes in menopause, body identical HRT is a game changer for the skin at this age and its use can effectively reverse aging at a cellular level (see reseach on Glycans and HRT). Would Dr Bush apporve? I don't know I suspect again that his agenda is pro-natural and so his ideal outcome maybe at odds with our ideal outcome for our skins appearance. As a final note in my teens and early 20's I struggled with acne and for a few years only used products from an expensive organic, biodynamic range called Dr Hauschka, a beautiful range of skincare some of which I do still use but the facial care products only made my skin worsen to the point where when I finally saw a dermatologist he thought I would require medical dermabration to fix my skin. Luckily with use of products like salycilic acid, tretinoin and gentle cleansers my skin was restored and I do find my skin is much better using dermatological products which are very plain and not as fun to use but at least with them my skin is radient, beautiful and youthful.

    I was with you until you said stop using soap…. There are many goof reason to using soap. Maybe it depends on the soap one uses but ppl need to keep their skin clean to avoid certain things. Also if one is having relations they need to wash up afterwards with soap!

    Someday I will be in the garden again .......❤❤❤ For fresh foods n herbs. It's super tacky and low energy to get all our food outsourced. We've become lazy and a bit retarded .

    No vitamin C or retinoids?! Now I’m confused. I thought those were the 2 things I was suppose to prioritize outside of sunscreen? 🤦‍♀️ 🤔

    Thank you dr, it’s awesome session 😊 I have a question, I live in nz and I work in tree nursery, so I work outside rain or shine, I don’t believe in sunscream, I wears big hat in summer but not cover my arms and legs in summer, what’s your suggestion in this situation regarding to sunscreen and sun exposure? Thanks 😊

      Go on a more carnivore diet EVOO vitamins and some greens no sugars flours dairy grains or peanuts iron cashews all other nuts are okay. Eat avocados too take vitamin C supplements instead of eating sugary fruits. No alcohol and your psoriasis will disappear very soon. There’s a book about psoriasis do your research
