Hey Lewis. Being an electronic engineer with a 30+ year career in industrial automation, I know exactly what it takes to create, build and manufacture an electronic device. It’s not something trivial. Congratulations on what you achieved. I’m building a country house which will obviously be fully automated and I’ll be soon ordering a bunch of Lites. Cheers!
Bought one, even though I don't actually need one, but I think it's really good to support good HA community members and builders like yourself. I've actually got a couple of Aqara FP2 units in use, maybe I'll stick one of these in the same room as one of those and run the same automations on them 🤔
Ordered 2, my first order. I was waiting for these to be available for so long. Well done for making an affordable, robust and capable product. I wish you all the success in the world.
Thanks for the support! Wanted to let you know that the cases are now available on the shop to buy if you want to upgrade your 3D printed version. Thank you again! shop.everythingsmart.io/products/everything-presence-lite-official-case
Cool and honest product that I'll buy! I'd love to see in the future a wall thermostat with a small display showing temperature (or humidity or CO2 if they are out of a safe range, maybe with a visible red warning signal) and a couple of buttons to adjust desired temperature so that Home Assistant turn on or off heating/cooling. I'd like to have also mmWave, CO2, VOC, light, sound sensors. And of course BT presence.
Any update on shipping from EU? With the shipment cost (13 euro) + taxes (21%) it will be great to have some more options. Keep up the great work! Still love my EP1!
god yes... I just bought an EP1 and the import duty significantly increased the cost. In the Netherlands there is a huge company called Azerty who sell smart home goodies and I bet they would love to carry your products!
@@dan-nutu i thought i detects the mm waves of your phone. so from your answer i guess it just detects you or what? some kind of magic, gonna search for the first video then, thank you :)
I bought one two weeks ago and I'm not sad. I enjoyed the process of putting it together. But having all these upgrades really helps the casual user that just wants it to work. Great Job
I would love an EP1 injection molded case, too, for what it's worth! Also, side note - I would love if there was a case/mount option that had the USB port sticking out of the back so it could be plugged directly into a wall wart sticking out of the wall - no need for a cord!
Can the case be screwed direct to the wall without the ball joint? I'm building a new house and want to hide all wires too. Plan would be to use poe and make an adaptor to use the 5v pins inside the unit. Would be good to fix direct to the wall so you don't see any cables.
This was my immediate thought, surely 90% of the time this is going to be on a table/stand with the cable going down the back of the table, hidden.... It doesn't really make sense for it to come out the bottom and to the side, it makes hiding the cabling harder. I doubt I'd be able to get approval for it in our house!
Lewis, I was about to give up on the EP lite. I have 6 of the original EP1s & the zones feature of the lite interests me. I also have on hand a complete set of the lite supported sensor modules to determine which will work the best for me. For the last almost 2 years I have been waiting for a home to be built with all of my home automation dreams built in. I was days away from ordering a set of Aqara presence sensors because the house will be finished within the next 30 days. This announcement has made my day. I thank you very much.
Be grateful you didn't order the Aqara FP2. By default they have an annoying bright blue LED that flashes every time they lose Internet connectivity. Very low WAF.
@@bigbog-xg7zwI also dislike blue LEDs on every electronic gizmo. Can't you open it up and place a bit of tape over the LED? Or just unsolder / cut it if you don't need it
@@tedev Yes. Easily. Any device that my better half has to unplug in the middle of the night out of annoyance gets a poor approval rating. Tape over the light is a temporary solution at best. I'm excited to give the ep lite a try 👍
I now have three Everything Presence Lites and very pleased with them. I had not realised the sensor can 'see' through studwork walls. Most of my house is blockwork, but one wall is studwork. I stood behind that waiting for a sensor to detect no presence and it just would not go off. Finally, I realised. Need to resize the room (actually it is a hallway). Other than that perplexing thing with my lack of knowledge they have been great. Need to find more uses so I can get some more ;-)
Purchased two of the very original esp presence 1's still waiting for poe input, new injection molded cases would be great. Would be good to go over lite vs the original. I'm a bit lost on the difference now. Well done on the progress!
Just received my sensor. First impressions. Very well packaged, injection moulded case nice and tight joints and ball joint just right. So far haven’t powered it up. Very quick delivery. Thank you
Love the new sensors! So easy to set up in HA and very accurate. Any suggestions on where we can read a bit more documentation, specifically on the additional Zone 2 and Zone 3 setups?
I just ordered one, even with Shipping its cheaper than anything I can get locally - half the price of the larger brand units too. Thanks for all the effort and look forward to installing it.
Would love to see more ground-up videos like setting up your warehouse & house. Seeing issues & how you overcome is valuable. Excited for you and community!
What a great journey you're on. Would love to know a bit about how you produced the product. Like who built the pcb, assembly, packaging etc. A shed load of work has gone in to it.
Love to see the improvements as you ramp production. You kept pricing flat, great. Love when your volume is so high, your costs come down. Will show HA solutions are in high volume
Thank you thank you thank you! I appreciate all of your hard work and dedication for your products. I just ordered 4 of them and I cannot wait to add them to my home. Secondly, I would love to see you make a kit for the bed presence sensor. I have watched that video several times and definitely want to add that as well. Keep up the awesome work!
I was so much looking forward to finally be able to buy one, now I ordered mine and can hardly wait receiving it 😊 Well done guys! Also, huge congrats for moving house and for the new warehouse. It would be nice to learn more what automations you plan to add to those, what will be your thought process of planning, and what features your partner will ask you to add
Well done to you and your team, Ive jumped in and bought one, looking forward to seeing how I can integrate it into my set up. Thank you for these videos, I always enjoy watching them and appreciate the amount of time that you must put into them.
great! Now I see this after buying esp32 presense sensors, 3d printed cases, flashed the software and I am still trying to get it all figured out. I would and may still gladly pay what you. are wanting for each one. Well worth it, especially if HA sees the devices out of the box. That is the next hurdle I haven't tackled yet.
bought as soon I saw the video, arrived today (with a pretty big custom fee), set up in seconds (too bad the bluetooth proxy didn't work) and the first automation is already here: now my bathroom light turns off when I close the door IF nobody is inside. and I manage to get the zones work: it's very easy, if you know how to do it. very good products!
Congrats on becoming a proper manufacturer! I'd love to see a video on what you did professionally before your smart home channel and how you got where you are now.
Would you be willing to do a video on the process of moving from a 3d printed design/product to injection molding? Who you worked with, what decisions or considerations you had to make along the way, etc. I think it would be really cool and inspiring for other sensor/product makers out there
I really like my EP lite, it works great. And i immediately ordered one of the new ones. Unfortunately they are quite a bit more expensive when they make it into my hands because of shipping and import duties. But i feel good spending that money and supporting you in your efforts. As others have said, there are a few mainland eu stores that would probably happily sell and ship these, too. I've ordered from Berrybase a few times, and they look like they would be a good fit for you.
Congrats on the new release and the warehouse and the new house! It kinda blows my mind that 200k subscribers is enough to take a youtube channel to a point where it can support a fullly functioning business with warehouse and employees and stuff!
So excited for this! I didnt have the OG version but been waiting for it to be back in stock and glad they back in stock and with some improvements! I have already ordered some to try out and cant wait to get them! Great job to you and your team!
Great work, as always! I just ordered a Presence Lite and Presence One, excited to get to play around with them! I live in a converted solar-powered shuttle bus, and adding presence detection to modulate the lights and the heat pump has been on my list for a long time, I know it could save a ton of power to not have the lights, heat, or AC running when I'm not home, but the PIR shelly motion sensors I tried would turn off all the lights when I sat for too long, and the one cheap zigbee mmW sensor I tried never even worked at all, and so I kinda gave up on it until I found this video. I'm really curious to know more about the Seeed Studio sensor with breath and heartrate detection. I can't find too much info about it in the documentation or by googling, but you and a couple of reviewers seem to mention that it's compatible and plug-and-play with the Presence Lite, if I understand correctly. Does that mean that if I install a Seeed sensor in the Presence Lite, the Breath Rate and Heartrate sensors will show up automatically in Home Assistant? Or will I have to edit the ESPhome firmware to get access to those? Adding Breathrate and Heartrate sensors to Home Assistant wasn't on my wishlist until just now, but it would be fascinating data to track. If you could let me know what steps I'd need to take to get the Seeed Studio biometric sensor data working with the Presence Lite, I'd greatly appreciate it!
I love your work on esp sensors for smart home. If you want a new project, sound detection can be super. Think of it! Detection of a non smart firearm setting of! (Best part of some of the non smart smoke detectors is the serial warning between themselves, and up to ten years battery lifetime) so have the opportunity to get the alarm into home assistant with esp can be super! Also detecting other electronic alarm like open fridge, finish washing machines, can be super. My thoughts is having mic close to the speaker, might have opportunity to record a sound sequence for detecting play sound on a washer (recording for recognition, like a voice assistant, but just with music.) might also tune on db and tone to find trigger spot. Myself have been working with people with disabilities like defense, or hearing loss. It’s a group who make good use of things like this (detecting other devices for convince or importance of alarms) they also use vibrations devices in pillows or under the mattresses to wake them in case of emergency (might also be an idea) if they are not able to hear alarms in their sleep. Hope you find some of this idea compelling and useful to us as well and not only those with disabilities.
Can't wait for the new and improved one!! The original one is fantastic! Already placed my order as soon as I got the email saying it was back in stock!
Congratulations Lewis! Nice work. I hope somewhere you will be able to also create an injection molded case for the EP1. Or a succesor for the EP1 with such a case.
I’m interested to know what benefits certification will bring. It’s awesome you got it, but as an uninformed consumer watching this video, I’m not sure how this benefits me. Awesome video as always
Sorry for the delay, only just saw this - essentially it means our product has been tested and verified by an independent lab stating that it passes certification for the UK and EU. These certifications test a variety of things with regards to safety (since this is an electrical device that will be plugged in constantly in your house). Hope that helps!
I love my two EP1's... they've been rock solid since I first got them! and the support was amazing too!...good luck with the new products!! always nice to see small companies doing well and providing such great services and products! keep up the great work.
I just received mine today and it works great! I did had some trouble setting it up on Linux (tried 2 different machines) but luckily I did have a spare windows machine around that could connect to the serial of the board. This is probably outside of your responsibility but for me the 35 dollar / euro smart product that I thought I ordered happened to already increase to ~ 45 euro with shipping and then I had to pay another 15 euro to import it to the Netherlands as the UK is no longer inside the EU. so total price of 60 euro's is a bit different then seeing a 35 euro price tag when introduced to the product.
Received mine yesterday after a 2 week wait 😢. Setting up zones is a bit of a pain even using the HLK app to connect via BT to the sensor. A video on how to set them up would be appreciated 😉
Thank you so much for all your hard work in developing and bringing this to market. Presence sensing is so useful and this is a huge improvement for any smart home. Order placed!
Had one before, don’t need another one but heck it’s a good product and want to support your future developments! Thanks for the updates and if a case option becomes available I’d consider it depending on cost as not really anything wrong with the 3d printed one but again, why not!
Hello, thank you and glad to hear you like it! Just wanted to let you know that the cases are now available on the shop if you are still interested: shop.everythingsmart.io/products/everything-presence-lite-official-case
Well done and congratulations, on getting this completed and certified. Now ordered one....I am sure I will find somewhere to use it in amongst my selection of other presence detectors !
Mine arrived a week or so ago. Just not had time to look at it until now. Nice cable I wish some other big companies would take a leaf out of your book. Next to get it into my study so I no longer have to use the flakey Hue switch in there and my wife becomes jealous and wants me to buy more for other rooms. 🙂 Up and running in the blink of an eye, using the manual approach. I wish all tech was this simple. I see you have a CO2 sensor. Suggestion, temperature/humidity add-on, assuming there is space. I half the number of tech bits in rooms and score lots of points 🙂
This is super timely for me! I just found out about the everything Presence One Kit from reddit yesterday and was super impressed by the quality and the price. It seems like your designs are head and shoulders above any of the big brands and they're less expensive too! The refreshed version of the Lite looks very swish! Well done! Now I find myself hoping that you won't feel like every future product needs to meet this new standard right away. For me, performance and versatility are most important and I'm happy to live with a 3D printed case if it means you can release those quality internals faster. I think the release > refresh cycle works well here. Speaking of which - are you thinking of doing a refresh on the Presence One too? Keep up the great work! I'm off to buy a new sensor!
Glad your always looking for improving your product. I see till have my lite and it is working great. Had to make a different ball mount. But that is because of where im placing it not the quality.
You're doing the Lord's work. I'm just a renter so can't yet automate the home to my satisfaction, but I hope these will be in stock down the line when that changes!
Love all of this! Would definitally buy cases for the EP1 if those were in consideration . I have 5 of them and they run the gamut in terms of build quality.
Glad to hear the exciting news, just ordered some more! And I'd be interested in getting a few of those injection molded cases as well. Had to fiddle a bit with the ones I printed to get them to stay up :)
Thanks for supporting! Just wanted to let you know that the injection moulded cases are available now on the shop if you are still interested: shop.everythingsmart.io/products/everything-presence-lite-official-case
I bought a couple of the lite sensors last year, and would be interested in replacement cases. It's a shame you couldn't get the injection moulders to do a run on to get some spare cases as the costs would have been a lot lower than a separate job, even if they were self assembly.
Hello! We could actually get them as part of the same batch, sorry if that wasn't clear. Just wanted to let you know that the cases are now available on the shop if you are still interested: shop.everythingsmart.io/products/everything-presence-lite-official-case
Well, ordering with apple pay was so easy. Tap the button, double click the power button on my iPad and I have one ordered! So cool. :) Looking forward to trying the sensor.
Adding my comment to say I'd buy 2 of the new cases by themselves for the 2 I already have. Awesome updates, so stoked on the progress on this product, it's amazing!
Hello, thanks for the kind words! Just wanted to let you know that the cases are now available on the shop if you are still interested: shop.everythingsmart.io/products/everything-presence-lite-official-case
Congrats on the upgrades, they look very professional indeed. The company is going from strength to strength, it is great to witness. One question: are there any plans to bring mmWave zoning to tbe EP1? I have 8 of those controlling my house so having zoning would open a plethora of possibilities
Thanks for the update. Now it's about time for me to order such sensors. Which of your videos should I watch about the functionality and maybe comparison to other products? Thanks.
This is awesome, Lewis! I'm so thankful that we have such dedicated and capable people like yourself in the HomeAssistant community! I'd totally order three or four of them right now, but I already have Cat6 run to the locations where I want to put them. Is the PoE version going to get the same awesome injection molding treatment as the lite? I'm willing to pre-order to support the process if it helps 👍
Seeing the lights not automatically come on (and the physical light switch) in the first 30 seconds of this video hurt me :)

I wish the EP1 hadn’t met my needs so I’d have a reason to buy these new versions…. Keep up the great work!
Thank you for continuing to improve the products ! Also directly ordered a couple of them. Keep up the great work 👍
Congratulations Lewis!
Just my thought too :-) What will it bring me ? I want to Order but I don't know why and the Webshop only tells me a lot of technical things
Sorry for the delay, only just saw this - essentially it means our product has been tested and verified by an independent lab stating that it passes certification for the UK and EU. These certifications test a variety of things with regards to safety (since this is an electrical device that will be plugged in constantly in your house). Hope that helps!
Ordered 3 to Australia. Thanks for your efforts!
Fantastic product - well worth the wait. I will be buying many more - Thanks
I love my two EP1's... they've been rock solid since I first got them! and the support was amazing too!...good luck with the new products!! always nice to see small companies doing well and providing such great services and products! keep up the great work.
I love to hear that, makes me very happy! 🙏🏻
Just wanted to let you know that the cases are now available on the shop if you are still interested:

Legend.
Well done and congratulations, on getting this completed and certified. Now ordered one....I am sure I will find somewhere to use it in amongst my selection of other presence detectors !
bought a few of these! Curious for any tips how to keep my pets from triggering these sensors
Up and running in the blink of an eye, using the manual approach.
YES! Placing an order now!
Thanks for doing what you do 👍
Thank you for supporting 🙏🏻
Fantastic device, I've been waiting for something like these to come out!
(Never discovered the earlier versions).
Looks like the best presence sensor option out there. Hope I can get some.
Been waiting for this, I love my EP1 and been wanting to try one of these (so I bought 2). Cheers and keep up the good work
Oops. I just ordered 2 more to go with the 2 I already have and the EP One. Thank you for a great, easy to use product.
Just wanted to let you know that the injection moulded cases are available now on the shop if you are still interested:

I bought a couple of the lite sensors last year, and would be interested in replacement cases. It's a shame you couldn't get the injection moulders to do a run on to get some spare cases as the costs would have been a lot lower than a separate job, even if they were self assembly.
Hello! We could actually get them as part of the same batch, sorry if that wasn't clear. Just wanted to let you know that the cases are now available on the shop if you are still interested:

Well, ordering with apple pay was so easy. Tap the button, double click the power button on my iPad and I have one ordered! So cool. :)
Looking forward to trying the sensor.
Adding my comment to say I'd buy 2 of the new cases by themselves for the 2 I already have. Awesome updates, so stoked on the progress on this product, it's amazing!
Hello, thanks for the kind words! Just wanted to let you know that the cases are now available on the shop if you are still interested:

yay, mine arrived today, now looking to set them up, thank yo so much
Great job guys. This is awesome.
Any Plans to make a POE / Eth Option for power and Comms?
Incredible progress Lewis, well done! However, disgusted at myself that I don't have a couple yet but it's on my list! Can't wait to try them out!
Got one should be arriving this week in Ireland! 🎉
Been waiting for these to come back in stock!
Fantastic ... Congratulations. So professional combined with your insight.
Thanks.
Whoop whoop. I managed to get one this time around. Really looking forward to receiving my order
I was so excited to get the back-in-stock email. I've got 5 on the way!
I got so excited when I seen the email that i immediately ordered 3! 😂
🎉Nice!
Just ordered via the link in the description!😊
This is awesome, Lewis! I'm so thankful that we have such dedicated and capable people like yourself in the HomeAssistant community!
I'd totally order three or four of them right now, but I already have Cat6 run to the locations where I want to put them. Is the PoE version going to get the same awesome injection molding treatment as the lite? I'm willing to pre-order to support the process if it helps 👍
