I was shipped one a few weeks back, and am testing it now. These presence sensors are like magic, love the control it gives me over a basic motion sensor!
The setup process for the Lite was extremely straightforward. Only real improvement I could think of is if you had an injection molded case, could make the fit and finish just a tiny bit nicer!
Love to hear it Jeff! Injection molding is something we are quite far along in the process of investigating actually 👀
Yeah, one of the 3D printed cases on the 3 I bought was not great. Getting the plastic nut to tighten on that one was rough. But once set up you can't tell the difference, so I guess it's fine enough. Awesome sensors though.
Sold out, but maybe a version Lite Lite without a case. I bet most HA users have a printer. A little cheaper, especially shipping costs.
Sold out in 4 hours! Hope there will be more!
Did not anticipate them selling out that fast, my goodness!
I picked up some EP lites in the first batch. Love the zone support options and I'm experimenting using them in an unusual way, by rotating 90 degrees to act as a Z coordinate rather than X which means i can ignore low level readings and avoid my cats triggering automations/lights
Oh that's interesting, do let me know how it goes!
Now this is a great idea, really need a solution that doesn’t pick up my cats!
Where is this light he keeps going on about...ah, Lite.
Excited for the Pro!
Absolutely love your products, so so so perfect for the home assistant community. Keep up the great work ❤
Founding out this video 6 days later, being super impressed with the device and price. Now i want to buy 2-3 but out of stock. Then reading comments about being sold out in 4 hours makes me a bit sad, but this means the product is super good and requested a lot. Good job
same problem, youtube only just spat this video out, despite being subscribed...
I was just looking into presence sensors and this seems way better than trying to build my own.
I've been waiting on this forever, you got a lifetime customer looking forward to all the products you will create for us home assistant users
That means a lot, thanks
i’ve had the EPL for almost 3 months now and it’s been working great with my smart home, great work from you and your team!!
That makes me very happy to hear you are enjoying it 🙏🏻
It's great to see your channel grow and the products your making expanding and evolving, wishing you continued success
Appreciate that, thanks! 🙏🏻
Big thanks Lewis & ESH order handling team! Just received my EP Lite 2 days after ordering! I see I was one of the lucky ones this time. Another great experience through setup steps, and the unit is running happily in HA fixing a big gap in my previous presence sensing already. ❤
Your story with the EP1 is one of my favorites to tell. I bought 5 of them for my house and 3 of them for my mom's. I just love everything about it and where it came from. Thanks for making so much awesome stuff!
That's so kind, I really appreciate that and all the support🙏🏻
I love your sensors. Have 4 of them EPL and they work exceptionally well.
Just received mine and I'm excited to try it out! I would have preferred the presence one, but since it's sold out, I'm happy I managed to get my hands on the Lite one.
This looks great! Will be ordering a few. Well done!
So happy these are back in stock. Finally managed to order a couple. Cheers for making them!
Thanks for supporting!
@@EverythingSmartHome Aaaaannnnnd, they're sold out again!
I was lucky to buy one when first announced, looking forward to new products you may release in the future too!
Brilliant work Lewis, inspired my own project 😉 The Pro looks epic, when I eventually roll out more POE in my home I’ll be investing in a couple (unless I’ve figured out how to build PCBs by then 😜)
Can’t wait until these are in stock! Great work on getting a product to market that people actually want!
Awesome stuff, Lewis! Thanks for all that you do for the community!
I'm holding out for the Pro version because I *really* want that PoE (and the long range). I mentioned it on the announcement post at the time, but a ceiling mount case for it woukd be awesome if you can make it an option 😎
Hi, ordered five last night : ) finally the other half will stop moaning with lights switching off when shes in the room because of using PIR. Looking forward to getting my hands of these. Keep up the good work.
Yes! Awesome products Lewis!
Thanks so much Jeff, means a lot!
I’ve signed up for notification when they’re back in stock. These look fantastic! Hopefully I can snag a couple of the next batch. Keep up the great work, and get your people working overtime building more! 😂
Looked at this yesterday and was waiting on the "is available". So the second i noticed this video was up i went straight to your shop and now have 7 sensors on the way! Can't wait!
Thank you so much, hope you love them!
@@EverythingSmartHomeI'm pretty sure I'm going to, if they work as planned for every room. I also have an idea to use one as a doorbell, as where I'm living there is none, the door is effing 90% frosted glass except the frame, and there is no outside power available. So I'm going to print an angled adapter and mount it at the very top of the door on the inside and then limit the range to detect about a meter in front of the door, This way i will know if someone is there and it can also tell me if it's 1, 2 or 3(+) people. So i know if i should open or not. So i really hope it can detect through double pane thermal glass xD
Love the EP1. It's the sensor we've been waiting for.
Very nice video, thanks Lewis!
Looks great! I'll try and get one in the next re-stock.
congrats on the success of the EP1, EPL looks great
Great! Just ordered two of them! 😄 keep up the good work!
Thanks for the support!
@@EverythingSmartHome unfortunately, no scribble in te box 😛 but they have arrived and are set up.
Thanks for the great product. Only one question: those sensors should ‘see’ you, even if you are sitting still? Mine stops detecting me. Is there a sensitivity setting of some kind?
Nice work! Ordered a couple to play with
Love these products Lewis, been rock solid since installation
Makes me very happy to hear you enjoy them, thank you!
Just grabbed 3 to pair with my existing EP1s, excited to kit out the rest of my rooms! `
Thanks!
Thanks for supporting, enjoy!
Ordered. Looking forward to testing it out
Really, already sold out? This video was just published. I've been waiting for this sensor for months. Btw I love the everything presence one sensor. It is by far the most powerful and reliable sensor that I've purchased. Super bummed that the lite is already sold out.
Also big fan of your channel, thank you!
I liked the easter egg surprise at the end
I purchased 3 before seeing this video. Can't wait to test them out!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
These are really great sensors. I have an EP1 and a couple of EP Lights and they're so useful
I love to hear that, thanks for the feedback!
Cool stuff. Ordered mine!
Great work on the sensor. I was just about to return the FP2 I bought so I could support you instead, but you're sold out! Hope they come back in stock soon.
Just bought one, looks awesome!
🙏🏻🙏🏻
Looks interesting. In the moment I have to get my new home with Home Assistant running. After the basics are setup, I will buy some of your sensors.
Have fun!
I loved the EP1. Just ordered 2 of this new ones🙂
Appreciate the support Paul, I would have been happy to provide for you for all you do for the community! Drop me a message next time! 😅
Already sold out :( Any idea of when EP1 or EPL will be available again? Just starting my Home Assistant journey and these look great!
Hey, it's you! Drop me an email and I'll see what I can do! 🙏🏻 Thanks for the great videos!
@@EverythingSmartHome how is this already sold out lol. Seems to be very popular.
@GamingTrivia1113 I think maybe you answered your own question. The market is starving for this device so it's going to be hard for someone without deeeeeep pockets to outpace demand for awhile.
Damn, as soon as I saw the video I went to grab one and they’re all gone! 😢
@@GamingTrivia1113 Because radar presence detecting is really good, and there was nothing like it before.
So either you get this, or you solder your own. (I did as it was less then 10 bucks with mediocre radar units).
Instantly bought 3 plus the BA green box. Thanks alot!
Legend 🙏🏻
This is an excellent sensor and why I got multiple at once. I would love a video on how you actually created your custom pcb
Thank you for explaining the difference between the EP1 and EPL! Would love to also see a video explaining what happens when you "adopt" it. This is my first non-diy esphome device and don't understand the difference between adopting and not adopting. For example, I didn't see any notification that the firmware had an update and I adopted mine. Was this because I adopted it?
Thanks. I will try this one out
Great to see a new type of sensor for Home Assistant.
I have been testing an EP1 sensor to work outside to detect cars and people. With a water proof box and using a Panasonic EKMC1605113 wide angle PIR sensor, and with small software change in ESPHome to combine the PIR and Mwave together for a more stable Occupancy detection. I have had some good results.
Nice one, that's cool to hear! Glad it's surviving well outside!
Oh come on! It’s been weeks since I’m trying to buy this and it’s again sold out!
Well done and well deserved of course!
But I want one so badly! ❤
I just ordered my EP Lite. I can't wait to get it start playing with it. I have high hopes that mmWave will be much more reliable than the presence tracking in my Ecobee gen 2 motion/temp sensors. I hope I get the marked box! :)
It’d be nice to have a deep dive of your journey of your become a product manufacturer journey. Everything from making the first one (probably by yourself) to now having a team working on newer products and what that takes from software, hardware, vendors, etc
I love my Everything presence one. Now if only these would ever come back in stock I could order a bunch of them!
Glad to hear you love the EP1, I love them too! I didn't anticipate a sell out as fast as this, my goodness that was wild!
Sold out again!
Was excited when I saw the video notification. 😢
super cool. cant wait for stock to return again.
I just ordered one of the EP Lite units today!
I got two of the EPL and they are really nice! I would love to see a video with inspiration on how people using them in the homes 😊
Glad to hear you are enjoying them!
Just bought one and cant wait to try it.
Thank you so much!
5 paid for just now to go with my other 2 EP1’s. Been checking weeeeeekly for this update haha 🎉🎉🎉
Haha sorry it took so long but hopefully worth the wait!
Just ordered, been waiting for stock to appear again, much prefer supporting you as opposed to the likes of Aqara, I have am fp2 but at half the price it’s a no brainer and hopefully keeps the great content like the monthly home assistant release videos coming.
Thank you for the support!
Oooohhh I hope I can buy one soon!!
super cool and ordered!
I love the Presence one, Only thing I'm still missing is the zones. Do see the beta firmware for it but would like to see the non beta release of that. That would make it even more awesome. The light version is also on my list and will get that aswell for smaller rooms later on.
The zones on EP1 are exclusions zones rather than XY coordinate zones like on the Lite, like I mentioned in the video, the DFRobot sensor doesn't support zones in that way unfortunately.
@@EverythingSmartHome Thank u for that quick response, and exclusions would already be enough for me. When the lite is back in stock I for sure will get one or 2. Thanks so much for this amazing device. Keep up the good work!
The Lite is awesome!!
Finally, got to buy one. 👍
Thanks for supporting!
I've had a pair of EPLs since the end of October, as well as an EP1.
I really need to get my HA system squared away and get that template I bought from Smart Home Junkie configured.
Please, please, please we need a pressure plate/mat sensor! Keep up the amazing work.
Very very cool! If this had sleep tracking, I'd replace all the Aqara FP1s in our bedrooms.
Hi. I am a fan of your work. Congratulations and thank you! There is not Brazil shipping, please?
Looks like the perfect unit for me. I have multiple rooms that it could cover and with zones, especially, without needing some app to some Chinese device that sends everything I do to China sounds fantastic, even if Home Assistant is a bit more fiddly to set up zones in.
Local FTW!
Just ordered one to try Lewis after Mrs R bought me the HA Green for Christmas
Nice, how are you liking the Green?
thx, bought 2!
Just ordered, think I'll get the marked box!
Just ordered! Thanks for such great content and now products to go alongside the content! Keep it up
Appreciate that, very kind!
Ordered one an hr ago right after I got the email notification. Didn't want to miss out on it this time like the last time.
Fingers crossed that the marked one comes to me😊
But gotta say, shipping price is around 30% the product price. There's some work that needs to be done there Lewis.
Agreed - $37 + $16 shipping. The shipping stopped me from ordering
Unfortunately shipping doesn't change with the value of the product, it would be nice if did! We are always working to improve shipping
@@EverythingSmartHomeI run a small family owned fulfillment company that has 2 locations in the US. Can accept api orders and ship/mail with all major carriers. Would be happy to chat about setting up a stock in the us for you to ship from to help lower those costs.
These look awesome! I'd LOVE to get my hands on a few. I do have one question though. For rooms like a hallway, where you want motion control over lights, but don't always have a location for a sensor with an outlet nearby... do you have any good ideas/creative solutions for this scenario? All of my current sensors are battery powered which works best so far.
Would it work to use POE to USB C adapter to power these?
Must be pretty good since it sold out in a few hours! I'll keep trying to buy a couple...
Great videos btw.
Oh damn, time to upgrade my smart home!!!
Very nice! And great pricing! I wonder if we expect Home assistant to introduce a zone input interface for mmwave? Even a hacs card would be cool!
Hope so, that would be super cool!
Would love to see a video of you making a home alarm system using these combined with other sensors and in house displays. Also hoping the pro is POE and has expansion options to allow addition of ESP CO2/PM2.5 sensors.
Awesome 🤘 Will there ever be a graphic interface like aqara fp2, where I can draw on squares? That's so dope.
You mentioned this sensor has a smaller range... have you tested it to see the approx range it has so that I can know the range before purchasing?
17 hours ago! All sold out, congratulations!
Oh no, it's sold out again already. 😭 I shouldn't have gone back to check for the ESP board...
Well, then I'll wait for the next wave.
Thanks for the video and keep making stuff! ❤
Send an email, will see what I can do! Appreciate the support
Shucks, sold out! Thanks for the vid, will watch this space.
Just ordered four of them :D
Would be great to be able to get a version without the sensor included, for those of us who immediately plan to use a different sensor. For me the heart rate and respiratory sensor seems exceptionally cool to put in my toddlers nursery.
What are you guys doing with these? Mainly lighting when in the area / room?
Great addition. You listed 5 mmwave sensors that you tested. Is there some place where the pros and cons of each is listed?
Awesome work, could you also sell just the PCB without the casing for those who can/want to print it themselves?
That USB cable looks awesome. Where can I find one for my other projects?
@EverythingSmartHome Battery options? the cable to the device limits where you can put these, would a chonky watch-style battery be feasible in the future?
Looking great! And finally approaching a price I (as a massive cheapskate) consider affordable! Do you plan on selling versions without the mm wave board or enclosure?
My 2 cents about losing the extra sensors - assuming the added cost in materials and manufacturing are near to negligible, I wouldn't mind paying a couple of euros more for that. Think of it not as a feature to increase profits but as something that might persuade people who are already on the fence. I for example am very slowly building my own set of sensors around the house and if your product had everything I needed, I might be inclined to just scrap my project and order a bunch of lites.
I had an Aqara FP1 in my kitchen for testing but it kept detecting multiple objects moving when there was only one due to the reflective quartz worktop and glass cupboard doors. Which mmWave sensors you mention in your video work best in this environment please? Would yours suffer from the same problem? Thanks.
Can the Zones overlap on this sensor? EI someone is in zone one, then move into an area that is both Zone 1 and 2 then keeps moving and is only in zone 2. One of the issues I have with the Aquara FP2 is the zones can not overlap, it is one or the other.
Is it possible to make it wired and build in option? To make it work like on modbus or other protocol?
How does this connect with the PC running Home Assistant? Looks like it might be Bluetooth, as it mentions being a BT hub. But it's unclear whether it also uses BT to connect to the PC, or Wifi, or maybe even Zigbee.
Update: Reading the manual, it connects via Wifi. Just a suggestion, but might want to add that to the main product page!
I have it
Is it possible to have an vidéo for most exemple in HA ? Automation ? Usine entities and for calibration
Whoop! I managed to grab one before they sold out. Am I correct in thinking the EPL may also act as a Bluetooth proxy?
I've been playing around with the EPL for some time now and love it. However, I can't wait for the STL files to come available so I can print a black case for the EPL to blend in with the surroundings.
The case files have been available for some time, have a search on Printables!
Just ordered 3! Fingers crossed for the Willy Wonka box!
