You sound like a band director singing the notes out. This method does really work and I thank you! Counting 16th notes is not always an easy task, but you brought the feel and this helps greatly! I'm just starting in a Zep tribute and I'm playing bass and keys, so again... THANK YOU!
@gtludwig41 My 14 (and the 26) is a Zickos that someone put Ludwig hardware on. The seam is a little funky on it, and there's sort of a dead spot on the drum. Do you play an original kit or a reissue (or a custom made)?
I had to sign in just to ask this, Are you from anywhere near Minnesota or the Dakotas? Cuz in my head I keep hearing you say " the first two are offset an 8th note don't you know" like in Fargo
both... i have a reissue and the other one is the one with rail consolate and l arm for ride i hate the reissue hard to keep in tune.but the seams are better than the old style and brackets are more insulated from cracking the shell.
Dude your insights into Bonzo's style are AWESOME but you gotta find a way to play along to the music for us! That way you can site specific times and stuff.
This song used to frustrate me so much...I blamed it for me giving up band after the 8th grade...I meant to go back when I hit highschool, but that band instructor retired... and I enjoyed making money at my part time job...How are you with playing this along with the WAY too influential rest of the band? I haven't even gotten my Son to attempt it in front of me...yet.
1st part 123 kick and snare same time repeated til 1234 with crash /kick .. 2nd part . 123 same as first part.. then add back beat with snare hat and kick (.boom ba boom.) with added hi hat on all quarter notes matching kick and snare.repeat till 123 crash . 3rs part back beat agian starting of with a L. R.LR. to follow then repaeat 123 crash .i play this song quite often on tour with a zepp act .zoso ..try that i think think you ll finf it more accurate
I like how he just jumped into the different parts kinda loosely. that's how I learn myself. just one of those songs you gotta listen to a million times in order to really internalise the rhythm. only suggestion would be to play the drum track of the actual song. or maybe just half of it? anyways I'm drunk like bonzo atm.

@gtludwig41 Thanks for posting! Do you have a video of you playing it? I find it hard to follow what you've written.
@gtludwig41 Which Zoso band are you in? I'm in Chicago and I remember one being around here for a while.
@gtludwig41 It be nice if the reissue 14s had 12 lugs instead of 16. You come thru Chicago soon?

He lives in Chicago i think
What about that main groove, thats tasty ass jam with all the snare accents, did i miss it or is it not on there
What happened to your other Nobody's Fault But Mine video that you did like 3 years ago? Can you please put that one back up?
The Warner bots have it banned.
