Bro i bought a baby 3 inch golden cobra can u tell me how i can determine wether its male or female?
at 3 inch you cant see, still too young at about 10 inch you can tell the difference. There is a difference in the pattern of the fin between male and female. There are youtube videos which show the difference.

hello, do you recommend leaving the light on to enhance the colours and aggresion or leaving the lights off? new hobbyst in the making here :)
Leave the lights on 10-12 hours a day, reducing that to maybe 6-8 hours in the winter period. All fish need light to maintain their daily rhythms.

i know this video is old and you might not answer, but would it be possible to keep adult auranti in 120x50cm tank permanently? if not, what is the biggest channa i can have in that tank size without needing to upgrade the tank later?
How long does it take for channa to get use to their aquarium? I had 2 channa both being fire and ice, and a pardalis. Fire and ice temperature is between 23-24. And pardalis is between 22-23. They’re currently pretty inactive and the fire and ice is not eating too much, been 4 days already…
Sometimes it takes about a week, the bigger the tank is and the more hiding places it has, the quicker it will adapt to the new environment. Also consider turning lights down to allow it to relax a bit more...
@@ChannaScaping thank you for the tips! You're right, the pardalis is abit better now, I got the temperature down to 16-18 now, hopefully colours will pop out soon
Hello i have a channa golden cobra of 6inch size. Im confused about the feeding pattern. I have live meal worms, pellets and dried shrimps. Can you suggest me when i should feed it and when to keep it on fasting?
6 inch size i would feed every day or every two days, when they are small they can eat a lot. As for what to feed, keep on mixing the diet! Mixing it up is great for their health.!
Overeating will make them unhealthy (possibly fatal), short periods of starvation seems fine, I mean moderation is best, if too fat then it won't look that good either
Hey man, Are they the most aggressive channas ? If not which is the most aggressive channas among all the Channa varieties?
Quite agressive during feeding but I think Channa Maruliodes (a a bigger species) is outright the most agressive.

You can feed carnivore pellets used for cichlids etc, they will take those quite happily..

It feels like an electric shock more than anything, did not draw blood but more of a shocking sensation. At that time was small though, how is 45cm, may be much more painful!😆

How long do you think 1 single cobra like this one will last in a 4 foot 260litter tank before needing to upgrade ? Do they grow fast or do they slow down when they get to a certain size.

With a 4ft tank I think you can keep it up until it gets to 12 inches/30CM. In my experience with snakeheads, once they get to one year old you can see the growth slowing down and thats also when I start feeding them much less (maybe once a week only). Honestly with a 4 ft you will be good for a long time with one Cobra, only when it starts creeping to maybe 13 inches you may want to consider going bigger. My dream would be an 8ft tank with a group of Cobra, but just cant do that right now😆
Great stuff I have orders one the guy has 3 in total at 5-7 cm so baby ones what do you think would it be better if I got 2 or 3 and let them grow up before I move them up to a bigger tank and maybe just keep 2 if they pair off so really what I’m asking is could I get 2 or do you think better to start with 3 ?
@@thomasraymail Get 3 definitely, keeping 2 only there is a high chance they just fight all the time. If you keep 3 they seem to spread the aggression out between them and its easier to keep them together. Keeping 2 together has never worked out for me, have always had to separate, whereas 3 has often worked out OK. The smaller you get them, the easier it is for them to grow up together and learn to live with each other, so 5-7cm is a good size to get them at.
I was hoping you said that as I went ahead and ordered all 3 when I have them I will send you a video of how I have it set up for know for your opinion if that’s ok. Thanks again channa master 😎
@@thomasraymail looking forward to seeing the tank, but one thing... get some tank dividers or have some spare tanks ready if you are keeping more than 1. If you see too much fighting you may have to separate them for a while and let them learn to adjust to each other through the divider, then remove the divider to see how they react. When they are small though this is much less of a problem so hopefully yours should be OK😁

1-how many can we keep in a group in a tank as big as 5ft. By 2.5ft by 2.5ft?
2- is a 4ft. By 2ft. By 2 ft. tank good enough for a pair?
how about the lighting? should i leave the light on or no light?
Leave the light on for 8-10 hours a day same as with most other aquariums. Unless the tank is very close to a window or if its outdoors, then you dont need a light..

Wow. In my country. We dont pet our channa like this. We made them fasting and limit their food so that he will always anger and give such a show when we go near the aquarium.. btw im from Indonesia

How to enlarge their fin
Their fin cannot be enlarged, that is genetic. Some specimens have a very high fin and are very sought after.
@@ChannaScaping the fin trimming or combing actually work for enlarging the fin
@@aswanthrs5598 trimming wouldn't do anything but cause an infection or fin rot, as for combing, I have absolutely no idea whatever that is.
Just get one from a breeder or something.
You have some mistake with feeding. And it will be trouble soon.

I have a red maru but hes not red color yet😂, have been waiting for him to become red before I do a vid😂. Hopefully soon, have had him for 8 months now
