Using leaves also provides another potential teleport-proofing option: Endermen will avoid teleporting onto water-logged blocks. While leaves are already spawn-proof, water-logging them makes them teleport-proof as well. You only need to do that for about 32 blocks out from the farm, as that's the maximum teleport range of endermen. Also, in case anyone is worried about the many XP orbs - that's not a problem since 1.17 anymore. Orbs of the same value can stack up, similar to items, but have no relevant stack size limit. Since endermen drop two different orb sizes (2x 1XP and 1x 3XP), you should not get much more than about 80 orbs (there can still be up to 40 orbs per size that will never combine with each other), and that's not really in lag issue territory yet, especially compared to the 70 enderman mobs. The orb stacking also slightly increases your XP intake rate, since the random element here only picks between XP orb entities, without weighting them by their stack size.
This farm has been around for a long time and it's a testimate to it's creator that it's still the most efficient Enderman farm. There are other designs that are also pretty efficient, but basically nothing beats this. It still boggles my mind that Gnembon showed such a mastery of the very programming of the game, and then so perfectly modded the game (Carpet Mod is super cool) that he ended up getting a job with Mojang. Thank you Pix for continuing your guide series, keep up the good work.
Ah, the classic Gnemblom Ender-mini from Minecraft 1.7. Yes, One-dot-seven! Very few farms and redstone have a legacy like this. So not only are you making one of the most efficient and easy Enderman killers, you are also participating in a bit of Minecraft history today.
A massive tip for those attempting to make this farm - Don't wear any amour that has any Thorns enchant on it - otherwise when you catch the endermite it will kill itself as it hits you (Voice of experience here that wasted a lot of tags, time and head scratching learning the hard way) :D
I've been watching for a while and keep thinking to myself that the storage building looked best inside when the ceiling/roof was open, therefore letting more light in. You could put a glass dome up there and take the garden out, and I think it will really brighten the whole place up nicely!
I've managed to make your design work for BEDROCK. I changed the 3x7 platform into 13x13 - outlined the platform and the path towards the killing chamber with a leave rail a block above ground. Then I filled the killing chamber with 6x signs and put 3 trapdoors on the back of the stairs up to it as well as one centrally oppsite, which I then put one water bucket on. Hey presto - Endermen fall into the kill chamber, get a bit of damage from water and I can either just AFK for ender pearls or kill them for experience. Well happy.
I was just watching your Season 2 enderman farm tutorial for a refresher before I built one in my world and then I see this video come out. Perfect timing Pix!

When it comes to making a cobble column to the bottom of the world, I like making 4 at once by placing one solid block at least one block away from where you're standing and placing the lava on top. When lava reaches the bottom, remove lava and place water on the same spot. That will create 4 columns of cobble in a cross shape. Mind the center block which will only one block deep. From there it'll be easy to build either bubble column or a ladder. I haven't seen it done this way in the YT community.
I know Ianxo4 likes to lava cast bubble columns for some of his instant elegance farms that can benefit from them. I definitely recommend adding a drop shaft and maybe bubble column for this type of ender farm. Years ago I was dropping down to the leaf path of one of these farms in my elytra, missed, and because I was trying to correct at the last second I lost track of which way was up and lost a full set of Netherite tools and armour to the void. Which leads to my next point, don't ever leave a shulker box on the obsidian end spawn platform like Pixel does at one point. If he had somehow died, say by falling into the void, when he came back to the end that box would have been deleted as he came through the end portal, along with all its contents.
Yay new guide episode! Was about to go to bed, but did one last refresh of the feed to see, so glad I did! Who cares if it’s 3 am, pixl takes priority lol 😅😂❤
It might be worthwhile setting sneak to toggle instead of hold. Did that while End raiding yesterday, and Ancient City raiding the day before. Really saves your hand. I would totally build this if my brain wasn't so paralyzingly anxious about falling into the void.
Ah yes, the drown toggle! Just kidding, I use it all the time in the nether and the end. Sneak toggle is a great function. Just don't forget to turn it off and go swimming.
Might be worth noting that the sword you use should NOT have knockback or fire aspect enchants...the endermen seem to teleport outside of the farm if they're on fire. Lost some good equipment to the void because I didn’t know about those wonky mechanics...
Good morning Pixx, and fellow miners and crafters:) I love that you post super early my time. 5am here and I'm starting my day with some coffee and survival guide:)
Built this almost block for block. One thing to note is that I eventually replaced the middle row of leaves in the back of the killing chamber with solid blocks as my sword did eventually break them. Another thing to note is don't aggro the endermen and hit them with a sword with Fire Aspect. They to a fully carpeted path behind me and I nearly died getting away from them. Good thing I had elytra and just flew away like a coward. I added a dropper clock to which I can either collect the pearls as they shoot out or I can just let them fall into the void. I don't think anyone actually builds an endermen farm for the ender pearls anyway. Thanks for the content.
I always thought that building enderman farm is hard and take a lot of time, but it actually look pretty easy! Now I have to build it on my and my brothers' server. Thanks Pix!
Thank you for another amazing tutorial Pix!! Love your work! Your videos are always so informative and easy to follow, thank you so much for all your hardwork and happy to hear you're feeling better!
I remember when you found the igloo/dungeon combo! Man that was a lucky find I have never seen that before! Glad you got mending and silk touch for cheap man! Both of those are my favorite enchants to get and the fact that you got two for one for it makes me pretty jealous.
One tip: if you're building in the end and are on a multiplayer server, do not place your shulkers (or anything else) on the obsidian spawn platform. That platform and the air above it gets refreshed everytime someone goes through the portal. (Also possibly items or mobs, though I think that got changed a while back - we used to eggs dropping on a timer for an afk obsidian mine but that broke somehow) Point being, if someone decides to use the end as fast travel home while you're sorting through your shulker on the platform, poof. No more shulker.
it may have been worth mentioning (unless you did, and therefore I apologize for missing) that having the Thorns enchantment on your armor is ill advised whilst capturing the endermite. I've recently made this mistake setting up a rendition of your disk farm and lost a skele with an unusually good bow. I'll never use 🤬 thorns again. 😅
Finally finished this farm in my world and holy crap are the spawn rate insane! Easiest way to repair any gear you have. Hardest part is the endermite spawning and positioning. I carpeted the whole path leading towards the farm and plan to make a platform shaped and carpeted to look like a bullseye so i can just fly out and land on the platform when i want to use the farm
When I built an ender ender recently I used the other design with the large spawn pad and a drop. For the collecting mechanism I simply had a floor that I could retract, thus letting me collect all the ender pearls I needed and instantly dumping the rest into the void. To keep them from teleporting I waterlogged all leaves within 40 blocks (their teleport range is technically 32 but I take no risks). Finally, to get to y=1, I mine down one of the end crystal towers. This is a way to get some obsidian and get to the bottom without sitting there watching lava fall and with no risk of accidentally dropping out of the water pillar
Personally, I like to get around 10 butchers at master level. Its a pain to do I understand but their master trade is sweet berries. That those can be farmed automatically by using foxes with some cows or sheep in class boxes in the farm area to keep the foxes awake at all hours so their always picking berries when their ripe and the ones they don't eat they will drop so a hopper minecart can pick them up and you can then move them to a storage area for quick access to berries to trade to villagers for emeralds.
sorry to say i've missed a few episodes lately; but dang, Pix, that floating island/ship build looks amazing! your builds are always inspiring, and seeing that almost made me want to go play some Minecraft, but i'm waiting for 1.21 to drop before i start a new world. i got frustrated and quit my most recent world after dying and losing all my (netherite) gear multiple times raiding the same bastion (ironically, looking for netherite/debris...which i found...and then died on the way out).
Note: Endermites are hostile mobs, and you will need to kill at least 1 for the advancement. Also, on designs that use a higher drop for the endermen, you can place watermelons for them to collect as they fall to the kill chamber. They will collect whole watermelons, so you won't have to craft the slices together later. And if you dig a 1-block channel around the 2- high endermen blind, they will fall in and not be able to teleport away when you whack them.
Yes. Remember the 2-high shelf that Pix built over his head to whack endermen in? Just dig a 1-block trench around the 2-high shelf, and they will not be able to hit you there or teleport away. @@oratios21
So, if you are going to make this, don't put your Shulker box of supplies on the obsidian platform and then go back home to get something you forgot. Because that Shulker will be gonzo, due to the platform respawn every time you go to the end. I don't want to name names. But someone did that. Me. I am that someone.
The reason that the ones in the distance aren't getting angry at you is because you're not looking at their eye line. It's not that they're torso, are above, if you turn on hitboxes, you'll see a red line where their eyeline is that's where your cursor has to meet in order for the enderman to be agroed
dropper clock is just a dropper and 2 observers facing each other. Would fit in the same space as the chest. If you want to collect ender pearls just put a piston 1 block away and have a level on a block next to to so you can turn the dropper on and off. ( stacks at a time. But as you said this is mostly for XP not ender pearls so. Also if your hoppers arnt keeping up then place the droppers facing down by flying in the void and make 3 or 6 droppers. (1 for every two hoppers or 1 for every 1 hopper. Spawn proof the red stone and items disappear into the void instantly.
2:17 replace two of the dark and light woodbeams with honey and put a water column behind(if there is room), clad the front of the honeyblocks with trapdoors so they look like wood at a quick glance.
Endermites have always been a pain for me no matter what endermen farm I've built. The endermen are rather persistent in their anger and seem to teleport to other blocks no matter what blocks/slabs/carpet I use and just end up killing the endermite. This video definitely has some useful tips, but building one is not as simple sometimes.
Hey @Pixlriffs, thought that you may be interested in Vintage Story, it's a game that was inspired by modded minecraft. It's kind of similar to minecraft but very different! Very detailed in every aspect, especially building! Maybe you could do an episode on it!
Once you build one of these, you just get so many ender pearls in the fact that you’re in a single player world you don’t need them ones that be sweet if you could trade them, they should put that into the game!
I've made this farm before and the biggest problem was that the double chest was getting full a lot faster than I was done with the farm. And I didn't wanted to make the farm again just to bring it up a block. The other problem was that they always attacked me from behind and I had to put a multi-layered carpet roof over my head, but they didn't seem to attack you here. I don't know why.
While this is a classic design, Dashpum4's farm requires fewer resources (no endermite needed) and makes clever use of entity cramming to make an even better farm with similar levels of effort. Worth checking out!
I was about to build an enderman xp farm and I usually use the design presented in Pix's video. I will check out Dashpum4's before building anything. Thanks!!
No worries! I personally think the entity cramming aspect is a game changer, because once you have smacked an enderman once it still gives you xp when it dies from entity cramming.
Started to build this this morning. Put all my armor and tools in enderchest to build most of it and it goes smoothly. I put on my armor during the endermite part so I don’t have to wait to heal every 5 pearls. I die in the void. I remove myself from the game for the rest of the day. I come back tonight to finish the farm and re-enchant with the levels. I am placing carpets around the endermite. I die in the void and lose my tools 😭😭 I’m so done w this game dude
In Bedrock I've made the Endermen farm and I put a System where the Dropper Drops the Eyes of Enders when we don't want he already have full Shulker of double chest worth of Ender pearls so When he needs more then He can You know Get it and Do what he wants with it
Any chance you can do a full hardcore detail explanation into the villager trading system? Like you have this villager that kinda finesses the system cause you get more for this guy which then you can use for this over here? Does this makes sense?😭
Why I know this video is a bit old, so this comment might go unnoticed I tend to prefer the type of endermen farm that drops them down and leaves them at half a heart. Quite a bit more effort to build though, but it does have it's own advantages
This can be works if Instead of use leaf can a use lower slabs? I’m asking this because I have a mod that makes the leaf like a transparent block, I can cross the leaves and I can’t walk in top of them.
I made it exactly as described. Endermen keep teleporting behind me and either knocking me off the platform or killing me before I can activate my elytra. 😢 Can't figure out why it's so glitchy for me.
I forget Java doesn’t have trident farms I was like “why is he attacking the guardians?!” 😩 I don’t need an enderman farm I just like learning about Minecraft mechanics through building farms.
This design is somewhat outdated. There’s a new design where you have an armor stand and you just look at the endermen to aggro them. Also doesn’t require an endermite

It would be cool if you built a giant enderman statue or enderman head around the farm.
Hey Pix, what do you like more? Enderman Farm or Zombie Piglin farm, compare with the xp and the loot they give.
Mendelssohn gives me nostalgia
Ah yes, the villager from before 1.14.
Can't believe that was 6 years ago...
First skeleton farm then endermen farm how many farms will you make
In Bedrock I've made the Endermen farm and I put a System where the Dropper Drops the Eyes of Enders when we don't want he already have full Shulker of double chest worth of Ender pearls so When he needs more then He can You know Get it and Do what he wants with it
Any chance you can do a full hardcore detail explanation into the villager trading system? Like you have this villager that kinda finesses the system cause you get more for this guy which then you can use for this over here? Does this makes sense?😭
Why I know this video is a bit old, so this comment might go unnoticed
I tend to prefer the type of endermen farm that drops them down and leaves them at half a heart. Quite a bit more effort to build though, but it does have it's own advantages
Hey pix can u give me your world download link my pc got corrupted so i lost my word
does the endermite have to be in the exact postion as shown in the video?
Great tutorial. Don't know if its a bug but on my realm the endermite despawns even after name tagging it , any thoughts as to why this might be ?
I have almost caught up to the series
I kinda fell behind and now I'm starting back up again!
Trapping the endermite gave me a real headache. 3 deaths so far. 😢😅
I'm super frustrated
The one enderman that spawned on top of the shulker box : Naaaah Bro
This can be works if Instead of use leaf can a use lower slabs? I’m asking this because I have a mod that makes the leaf like a transparent block, I can cross the leaves and I can’t walk in top of them.
How can you make this a one-hit-kill farm?
Glad to hear you’re feeling better.
Can it be used on bedrock?
I made it exactly as described. Endermen keep teleporting behind me and either knocking me off the platform or killing me before I can activate my elytra. 😢 Can't figure out why it's so glitchy for me.
You could do a redstone elevator up to level 2 of the storage building?
I forget Java doesn’t have trident farms I was like “why is he attacking the guardians?!” 😩 I don’t need an enderman farm I just like learning about Minecraft mechanics through building farms.
"I hope you're all having a good day"
Does Mendelssohn the Silk Touch and Mending Librarian go by Felix or Moses?
Riptide pool please. Those villagers, I mean idiots, wait, I did mean villagers will crowd around the bubblevator once it's there. I swear
Pix is back!
Wake up! New survival guide is on!
I tip my hat to you, one legend to another.
@@TName30hey I understand that reference lol
@@TName30 😉
This video is very beautiful
I'm surprised you don't have fisherman in bulk because they buy all the fish from my guardian farm. What do you do with your guardian farm fish?
I didn't end up using the guardian farm enough to worry about the extra fish! But yes, I eventually plan to move some fishermen in there for trades :)
Do i need the flowering leaves
yay computer is back!
This is Great 👍
Holy those spawn rates are absurd. Now I get why it has to be so low in the world
what is the multiplayer project?
If I was going to just tell you that, I would've done it in the episode lol
@@Pixlriffs 😅 my bad
Worth a shot I reckon
would this work in 1.21?
I can't place the carpet under the minecart so i used waterlogged leaves but now the enderman not getting any aggro from the endermite... Plz help 😢
does this work on bedrock
This design is somewhat outdated. There’s a new design where you have an armor stand and you just look at the endermen to aggro them. Also doesn’t require an endermite
