Terribly designed changes for the longer plant food duration changes imo, they can basically act as an invincible wall plant until the plant food effect runs out, and that's just on their own, with AoE and piercing plants at the back, the zombies have no fighting chance. And before you say flying plants will just fly past those invincible walls, not all levels have them and for those that do, just bring blover.

Some of these reworks end up making the interesting plants extremely redundant, especially the plant food. It also defeats the entire purpose of that Plant as a whole (for instance, Noctarine shouldn’t be called Noctarine anymore if it can do that).
Not every rework has been changed to the point the plant feels like its brand new of course, but there are some exciting exceptions. Same applies to some of the plant food effects.
I dont think you've played the mod very much because so many of the worlds have been entirely changed, especially frost bite caves, one of my favorite modded worlds imo.
yalls something doesn’t have to be interesting or unique to be fun requiem isn’t inherently interesting, but it is so well designed and balanced. it improves on all the problems of pvz2 to provide you with a completely different and much more fun experience. that is what makes it a good mod. and yes, pls don’t talk rubbish if you haven’t played the mod yourself.

Id like to give a genuine criticism if you make them too weak it'll make the game less fun and more frustrating plant food should feel like an instant burst of power, these feels dragged out and unecessary also if you're gonna balance some plants with sun cost don't go overboard like Reflourished and honestly, i don't have an ounch of clue how these work and how hard they are to implement but changing the zombies can be more interesting and fun since alot of mods Dont have those on the other note though some changes here im 100% on board at
Not only that, the longer plant food changes are exploitable too because I think they forgot that the plants are invincible in the duration of the Plant Food effect. You can literally just have an invincible shooting wall-nut for 35 seconds if you plant food a Repeater.
All of this are Kinda Boring. Even if you don’t like the Base Game, The Plant foods were meant to be overpowered and flashy which defined the full extent of one of the plant’s powers and turn the tide of a battle, Not something Like Pokra Jabbing the Air 2 trillion times
I think it is an improvement because by not attacking you can always recharge the bulbs, not like before where you always use the weakest bulb because you can never recharge the strong ones.

Having more new plants is boring, cause it's the usual plant with some different attack or ability, the stages are same, the zombies are same nothing special, you already have enough plants which are great to deal with zombies you don't need new ones.

Have you tried only using Hot Potato to melt the ice blocks? Also bring Gold Leaf if you can.
you can check my vid on it, I let my plants get frozen, then I would put Pepper Pult to defrost them, dig out the Pepper Pult, repeat.
