I would actually say that Lucifer isn't God. When Chloe asked, How? He responded that he doesn't know. God is omniscient, so if Lucifer doesn't know, that means that he isn't God.

Then he is measured with himself and the sense of responsibility for the sins of humanity. 4.After that, for the first time in his life, Lucifer commits an absolutely unselfish and altruistic act: he sacrifices the good of love for the sake of preserving humanity from demons. Here he is already the patron and protector. 5. When he returns to Earth, he loses his vulnerability, but now it's a reward. Chloe becomes not only what makes him vulnerable, but also the source of his power. 6. Later, Lucifer accepts his love for his father and finally finds the strength to see it in him. 7. At the end, Lucifer takes on the burden of God's responsibility for the love of humanity, manifested through his relationship with Chloe. From a selfish narcissist who was looking for an opportunity to give himself a break, Lucifer has become a responsible and strong person, who is truly invulnerable now (physical and mental) and ready to make sacrifices for the sake of his loved ones. And all he needed for this is Chloe, who would see the real vulnerable and sensual Lucifer, next to whom he could find a weakness that would turn into the greatest strength. Michael obviously embodies darkness, while Lucifer or Samael is the light-bringer. Summing up all of the above with the escalation of the conflict and the strengthening of Michael, we get a growing light in Lucifer manifested through his self-sacrifice for Chloe.

The bottom line is that God knows about all the factors and events, so he can predict the future. It should be similar to Uriel's ability, but on a much larger scale. God's plan wouldn't work if Lucifer was a jerk and Chloe became a narcissistic movie star. But they weren't, and they changed even more. Both Lucifer and Chloe changed each other, making the higher plane possible. Thus, God only created the conditions in which Chloe could see the real Lucifer when he needed it. Everything else was up to them.
Pretty sure that will be S6-Ep1... the rescue mission to pull Dan out of hell. And there's no way Lucifer keeps the job as god. It's far too much responsibility for a guy like him. He'll hand the job over to Amenadiel.

When Lucifer went to Heaven it protected him till the moment he took it off for Chloe. Also, the blade does affect celestials.. its the only thing that can wipe out an immortal being.. if you get killed by the blade, there will be no hell or heaven. The thing that gets killed from it will be wiped out of existence.. Chloe got killed by Michael via stabbing her with the broken half of the tree of life (ironically) staff Lucifer got from Zadkiel during his fight with Michael which is why she wasnt wiped out of existence and went to heaven instead since she died absolving all her guilt. 😊 hope this helped.
Lucifer's "banishment on pain of death from Heaven" (that he can never re-enter Heaven) may have been a lie told and retold by Michael. His power was your fears and doubts.
But he literally exploded in front of Chloe when gave her that ring. That ring protected him from death in Heaven but when he took it off for Chloe he haven't that protection anymore. I think he actually resurrected after such selfless act he did for her, maybe himself because of self-actualization, or because... I don't know. I think we will know about that in s6

Took me a while to notice: After he took off the ring he started burning. But after he admits his love for her, he stops and becomes the Light-bringer again.
"Oh my me!" You knew when Lucifer's voice boomed through the stadium who had earned the seat of God. You too binged for eight hours! WOW! I get to four hours and I'm spent. I kept episode 15 and 16 for the last and as you've witnessed and experienced it was one emotional rollercoaster. Dang, I'm a 74 year old man and I was crying like a baby. My wife thought I had watched some Hallmark movie until I told her this would test her greatly. As if you had cued my wife ahead of time she mimicked each of your reactions. It will take time to sort all this out, meanwhile, back to watch it again!
This 5B season is the best yet. Damn can't wait for the last season. It's great Chloe was able to fight the power of the blade. When Dan hold it he almost killed Lucifer over some pudding. Chloe had a LOT of reason to kill Michael and she fought back. I don't think Lucifer is full god tho. That would be too easy because they made another season. The theory is that Michael told Lucifer he would burn if he would go back to heaven so often that he believed it, just like God believed his powers were going away because of Michael. The fact that Lucifer was choosing to save Chloe despite that, was the reason he saved himself and was able to come back. This was probably all part of God's plan because he could see everything before it happened. ❤ The I LOVE YOU was so perfectly timed. They really worked up to this after Chloe pushing him and his dad finally saying it to him. 😍
Wait i just had a thought. If Azriel only shows up when someone is about to die, then how come Ella and Lucifer can both see her? They aren’t dead. And Ella was taling about their being a darkness inside of her and she said she can hear voices and that was never really explored futher in season 4 or 5 i think. They didn't talk about it much after that I’m really hoping we get explore that side of Ella and find out what she meant by that in season 6

This season was a rollercoaster. Alot of things happened in season 5. If I had to rank the seasons from best to worst. Its would be season 4, 5, 1, 2 then 3. Season 5 is second because part 2 season 5 is so emotional. However still awesome
I don't think they changed more than the fact that Dan is in hell; they had another scene filmed being the last one but they kept it for 6x10 finale now. This is the shortest episode of 5B if not of the entire season 5 which is unusual considerig all the finales were more than 1 hour long (4x10, 5x8).

You know this episode brought back my TROS trauma. A tall, dark, handsome guy with a good heart got fucked over by his own family and blamed for things he didn't do, events manipulated by a evil masteremind ends up angry at the world and acts on that rage, but one day finds the right girl who sees through the mask and makes him want to be worthy. But as soon as he really gets that chance, to truly be himself, she fucking dies and he has to crawl out of a pit with broken leg and ribs, and gives everything he has left to her, knowing it will kill him. Oh Ben 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 at least lucifer got his ass burned, but got to live, thank fucking god
I’m so happy there’s another season but tbh I would of been satisfied if this had been the ending of the show! Very perfect way of showing lucifer becoming god! This was definitely the best finale of the series! But the first half of season five was pretty boring for me. I would say overall that season 4 is my favorite season so far.
It is a lot of guessing, but i´m very sure, that lucifer is not god. He survives because he was willing to sacrifice himself for Chloe. God said, that the new god will reveal himself when he is ready. So season 6 might be a lot of lucifer trying to be god - maybe try to rescue dan until god finally will show up and do it. Would be funny, if ella becomes god because of her inner light....god was very interested in her, when he was visiting lucifer......
I think Lucifer is God-in-training (so to speak). He doesn't have all the powers and abilities yet (since I think suddenly gaining them all at once would send anyone insane), but I think they will slowly unlock over season 6 as he starts to grow into the role (and realises all the limitations and responsibilities that come with the role).
I’m making a prediction right now but I feel like next season cuz we already knows or feels there is another season that Chloe and Lucifer will be married they will try and get Dan to heaven amenadiel and Linda will get to together

Wait i just had a thought. If Azriel only shows up when someone is about to die, then how come Ella and Lucifer can both see her? They aren’t dead. And Ella was taling about their being a darkness inside of her and she said she can hear voices and that was never really explored futher in season 4 or 5 i think. They didn't talk about it much after that I’m really hoping we get explore that side of Ella and find out what she meant by that in season 6
I hope Ella finds out and my belief on Azriel is that they can see her because she chooses to let them see her, kinda like how amenideil could slow down time so I’m just assuming that she can make herself invisible or something like that and I just wanna add this because I really wanna say it but I love azriel because she isn’t how u would assume the Angel of death is like she is super dorky and from what I interpreted she did not want to get involved because she did not want to hurt anyone which is also not what you would expect but oh well I’m rambling so ya that is what I believe

This season was a rollercoaster. Alot of things happened in season 5. If I had to rank the seasons from best to worst. Its would be season 4, 5, 1, 2 then 3. Season 5 is second because part 2 season 5 is so emotional. However still awesome

I don't think they changed more than the fact that Dan is in hell; they had another scene filmed being the last one but they kept it for 6x10 finale now. This is the shortest episode of 5B if not of the entire season 5 which is unusual considerig all the finales were more than 1 hour long (4x10, 5x8).

You know this episode brought back my TROS trauma. A tall, dark, handsome guy with a good heart got fucked over by his own family and blamed for things he didn't do, events manipulated by a evil masteremind ends up angry at the world and acts on that rage, but one day finds the right girl who sees through the mask and makes him want to be worthy. But as soon as he really gets that chance, to truly be himself, she fucking dies and he has to crawl out of a pit with broken leg and ribs, and gives everything he has left to her, knowing it will kill him. Oh Ben 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 at least lucifer got his ass burned, but got to live, thank fucking god

I’m so happy there’s another season but tbh I would of been satisfied if this had been the ending of the show! Very perfect way of showing lucifer becoming god! But I still got questions like how did he come back from heaven and where’s Dan and Ella finding out about lucifer who’s now God and also I want god and goddess to come back in the final season too!

This was definitely the best finale of the series! But the first half of season five was pretty boring for me. I would say overall that season 4 is my favorite season so far.
They changed the end of this season so in could be continued once they knew they were getting a 6th.

It is a lot of guessing, but i´m very sure, that lucifer is not god. He survives because he was willing to sacrifice himself for Chloe. God said, that the new god will reveal himself when he is ready. So season 6 might be a lot of lucifer trying to be god - maybe try to rescue dan until god finally will show up and do it. Would be funny, if ella becomes god because of her inner light....god was very interested in her, when he was visiting lucifer......
I think Lucifer is God-in-training (so to speak). He doesn't have all the powers and abilities yet (since I think suddenly gaining them all at once would send anyone insane), but I think they will slowly unlock over season 6 as he starts to grow into the role (and realises all the limitations and responsibilities that come with the role).
