The Matrix triology...Amelie (french).. The Grand Budapest hotel.. Grand Torino...Intouchables(french).. Terminator triology..Star Trek (last 3 movies trilogy)... and..the movie EVERYTHING EVERYWHERE ALL AT ONCE .
Fun fact: This movie establishes that at one point, there are four DeLoreans in 1955. 1) Marty goes to the past for the first time. 2) Old Biff goes back to give young Biff the almanac. 3) Marty and Doc return to fix Biff having the almanac. 4) Waiting in the mine for Marty to use to get himself out of 1955.
No. The DeLorean in the cave wasn't there until doc got hit by lightning and went back to 1885. Prior to that moment, the time machine wasn't in that cave. Even though once Doc got hit by lightning, it retroactively became 70 years. But it still wasn't there prior to....uh ..before the lightning hit Doc..... Oh whatever I don't know what the hell I'm saying
And the toys of Frisbee was actually invented in San Francisco. That's where the Frisbee pie company started. College kids would take the pipe hands and throw them around...like a frisbee
I like when Michael J. Fox says "Great Scott!" and then Doc says "I know this is heavy" after the funeral suit measurement reversed to the first movie when they talk about this at the school.
Thomas F. Wilson, who plays Biff, Griff and Buford 'Mad Dog' Tannen, is the perfect guy to hate in these movies, but in reality apparently he's an amazingly sweet person. Everyone who knows him pretty much just loves him.
Tom Wilson is also a comedian, he does a song called "Stop Asking The Questions" that's about all the repeated questions he got/gets over the years 😂😂😂 He actually has them and some other funny stuff on his TH-cam channel, just search Tom Wilson 😎👍😊
11 years before making this movie, Mary Steenburgen (Clara) was in a film called Time After Time in which H.G. Wells travels forward in time and meets and falls in love with her. Many of the scenes between Doc and Steenburgen exactly mirror the scenes she had done 11 years earlier with "H.G. Wells". Steenburgen was aware of this and commented on how weird it was to play almost identical scenes 11 years apart and wondered if that is why she was cast.
That's a very interesting fun fact! I have to look for that movie now. I used to love the novel The time machine by Wells (and only saw the movie version from 90s/00s which I didn't like).
Well, love is a deep human emotion and a common aspect of the human condition that most movies, stories, plays, etc. are themed on. Its not surprising for there to be parallels when her purpose in each is to be a love interest. All love interest are basically the same role, regardless of the other details.
Yes, it became the "Eastwood Ravine", and the "Twin Pine Mall" became the "Lone Pine Mall" , because Marty ran over a Pine Tree when arriving in 1955 the first time. 😂 There are so many details that are easy to miss.
It wasnt that he was standing up to needles (although he did) but remember he hurt his hand in an accident racing needles. he couldnt play the guitar anymore, but since he didnt race him, he didnt get in the accident and that changed his future. he could still be that rock star he wanted to be. He got over the whole "chicken" thing.
@@acesfn7316 It's true that current Marty didnt know that, but we know that. By him getting over his whole "chicken" thing, he didnt do that race and didnt get into the accident and now has his future ahead of him. The accident obviously happened in 1985 since we saw where it wouldve happened and Marty wouldve been injured and not been able to play the guitar any more and therefore not even be able to pursue his dream, now he has that opportunity. He mightve only had the job he did working with Needles because he couldnt pursue other things because of the accident, so while he no longer got fired, its very likely he never even has the same job.
a bit ironic, Marvin Berry cut his hand trying to open the car trunk, causing Marty to have to play for the dance, then Marty hurts his hand that ends his music career.
As a 12 year old in 1990, seeing this finale in the cinema was unforgettable. That entire third act involving the train was a thrilling sequence, and it still holds up to this day. I'm so glad you loved this conclusion. They really don't make movies like this anymore.
agreed! im only 2 years younger, and this remains for me the perfect film trilogy! it basically was one giant film that lasted like 7 hours that wrapped up in the most amazing way. they nailed it better than any trilogy im aware of, and that does include the tolkein things (as much as i absolutely adore hobbit and LOTR)
You realize, of course, that at some point they are inevitably going to reboot the franchise and _remake_ all three of them. If we're really lucky, maybe they won't add zombies or superheroes to the script.
Here are some things you may have already noticed (or are already in the comments below): Doc's dog was named "Copernicus" in the 50's. The dog he had in the 80's was named "Einstein." Marty never said anything suggestive to his mother (Lorraine) in the 1950's. The only thing he told her was, "You look so...thin!" Wells Fargo is really that old. The western music you heard was written for this movie, but was meant to sound like a classic western theme. Marty won't have to work for Needles at all now (since he wasn't injured) and can pursue his music career. Michael Jackson didn't have a cooking show in BTTF 2. His likeness greeted guests to the cafe as a virtual waiter, reading off the items on their menu. His appearance was meant to resemble an 80's character named Max Headroom.
Interestingly, we already have the technology to make this happen (deep fakes made with artificial neural networks can already imitate real people, dead or alive).
and I think it's hilarious, Docs idea of a "western" was Roy Rogers (hence the "I didn't know the circus was in town" comment from the local yokel in the saloon)...where Marty has grown up with Clint Eastwood westerns Mind you they could have gone with Lee Marvin, or John Wayne too. But "Eastwood, CLINT Eastwood" line makes it all the funnier.
The three band players who made up the instrumental trio at the square dance in town was actually the blues group, ZZ Top, who were very famous in the 1980's. In the movie, they spin their instruments (a ZZ Top thing) to point out the Easter egg.
They also perform the closing credits song "Doubleback". Was fortunate enough to see them live for their 50th anniversary concert in Houston before the passing of Dusty Hill. RIP.
ZZTop started out in the late 60s. Their hay days were from late 70s to mid 90s. They started out as blues rock but in the 80s they were just rock. Now they are classic rock.
It’s good that you notice the “Eastwood Reviene” something that may have never been in the first movie. Marty first enters the “Twin pine mall “, once he traveled to the past Marty ran over the twin pine trees. Marty went back to the future the mall was changed to “Lone pine mall”.
"100 years ago??!! That's this year!!" I don't know why but that's one of my favorite movie lines haha. When Doc pulls the train whistle, that wasn't scripted. They just kept it in the movie. That's why Marty has a more natural laugh right after.
Btw the reason Part II and Part III fit together so well is because they were actually filmed back-to-back, so any reference you find is 100% intentional, like for example: Marty's trick with the cast-iron oven door is inspired by a Clint Eastwood movie that Millionaire Biff actually watches in Part II. Also, if you like adventure games, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Telltale Back to the Future game, funnily titled Back to the Future: The Game; it's really fun and feels like a whole new Back to the Future movie.
@@emeraldfinder5 You can, but not all of them. Telltale reopened under new management a year or two later. They weren't able to get the rights to all the games the old Telltale developed though. BTTF the Game was one they didn't get the rights to.
"Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one!" Always loved that line 🥰 . Also, the Micheal Jackson in the diner in the future was actually a virtual A.I. waiter listing the menu for customers.
Miranda It is one of the films that left its mark on an entire generation, it was an emotion, it was and will continue to be unique for its music, for its characters and above all for its scripts... a film made for you that will be the best that has ever come to pass. given Hollywood in all its history, thank you Michael J. Fox and all the casting.
That was joyous!! You are so much fun!! You know how you can’t wait for a friend to watch a movie you love? Well that is exactly how it feels watching your reactions. Don’t worry about improving any editing, it’s perfect!!
"I hope Biff isn't in this one." Couldn't wait to see your reaction when you found out he (basically) was. Glad you enjoyed it. ZZ Top was the band for the shindig.
The idea of Doc Brown showing up in the 21st century and asking the people at the hover conversion shop if they'll do a 200 year old Steam locomotive is just the best mental image ever.
The reason that Doc couldn't believe that he could fall in love was because he didn't want to disturb the time-line. If he fell in love with someone then that woman wouldn't marry whoever she was supposed to. But with Clara, who was supposed to have died, he could fall in love with her because she wasn't meant to be a part of the time-line.
Wanting to not disturb the time-line is a reason to believe he wouldn't act on a feeling but not a reason to believe he wouldn't feel in such way, he just didn't think it could happen to him because he's never been the kind of guy who falls in love instantly or at all, also he fell in love with her the second he saw her BEFORE realizing she was supposed to fall to her death. He acted on an impulse, he wasn't thinking about the consequences or he would've let her fall, also after learning she was supposed to die he should've insisted in taking her with him to the future instead of breaking up with her, he was changing the future by letting her stay, any interactions she had changed something, he should've planned to take her too from the beginning but he wasn't thinking clearly, he was in love, that's why Marty keeps reminding him to think about it. Also, how did he fall in love with Clara before Marty went back to 1885? The only reason they were able to save her in the first place is because they were out doing field research, without Marty she would've fallen.
@@andreshernandez1180Remember the guy that came into his shop reminded him that he was supposed to go pick up the new schoolteacher from the train station. He didn't do that cause he went to do the field research with Marty so she tried to drive herself and lost control. In the timeline before Marty showed up, he would have gone and picked her up so she never needed saving.
@@Debbonair In the original timeline no one picked her up from the train station though, she died and the ravine was named after her. But yes, after Doc landed in 1885 (before Marty went back for him) if he picked her up that could explain how they met and fell in love but he would’ve changed the future as well creating a timeline when no one died in the ravine.
@@Debbonair Another question, at the end of part II (1955) Marty goes back to Doc who just sent Marty 1 back to 1985, by showing up he causes Doc to pass out so, who took the ripped up letter from the trash can? If Marty didn’t, that would create a timeline in which Doc doesn’t know he’ll be shot which would result in his death and the sequels wouldn’t happen, but if they don’t happen, how can Marty go back and make Doc pass out and not pick up the letter?
What I like about movies like this from the 80s is that it has heart and emotion even though it's a comedy. It isn't just a lot of hyperactive CGI clobbering and smarmy one-liners with a post-credits scene to get you to buy tickets to the next film. There's a really nice connection between the characters and a nice message.
I cried at the end, knowing you were were seeing it for the first time. The delight and relief of those final payoffs was like experiencing them for the first time with your fresh reactions. They couldn't have ended it better.
The love story for Doc is so wholesome 😭😭❤❤ Also: The actor Tomas F Wilson playing Biff/Mad Dog is actually a really nice and hillarious guy. He even has a youtube channel
the story continues in Back To The Future: The Game. It's an episodic multi-part point and click cinematic adventure game written by the same writer as the films themselves, that can be found on various platforms like PC or the Nintendo Wii, and the PS4.
09:08 I LOL'd so hard at this 😂😂😂. And yeah there are sooooo many Easter eggs in this trilogy, some obvious and some not so obvious (for e.g. if you look in the background when Doc and Marty were discussing driving the car on the train tracks, you can see Clara facing the other way waiting for Doc to pick her up...Also when Marty gets out of the bed in the McFly farmhouse, he takes a quick glance down to make sure his pants are still on (call back to the first movie )). FUN FACT: There *is* a sequel of sorts, Telltale games had a "Back to the Future: The Game" which continues the Doc and Marty adventures set after this movie.😉
There's also a two season animated series that aired on TV in the early 90s. It takes place after the movies, but is more of an alternate universe take on things, as opposed to direct sequel.
Bro, Michael J. Fox almost died while they were filming this movie. When he was hanging, yes, he was actually hanging. He almost suffocated to death from that scene. Also, there's a video game of this movie. Its basically the fourth movie ❤
Just like previous movies, this one is also full of little easter eggs. I think my favorite one was: The bandana that Doc is wearing, it's made from the shirt he was wearing at the end of BTTF2. Colors are almost completely gone by now, but you can still see the same exact cowboy pattern!
It wouldn’t take a car mechanic to fix the DeLorean because it’s the time circuit that needs replacing. That means an electrician and access to electronics. They didn’t have electronics in 1885. Also take note on the size difference between chips. The original time circuit was the size of a postage stamp. The one 1955 Doc makes has to be strapped to the hood of the car. No microchips in 1955. But if Marty wanted to hang around for a few years Doc might have been able to get something smaller working.
I so much enjoyed how much you enjoyed these movies. 😄 Wells Fargo was indeed one of the biggest and important companies in tie late 19th century. They ran stagecoaches all over the country, just like the Greyhound buses way later, with banking facilities at bigger stops. So they also were the Paypal of their time. 😉
I know the sadness off finishing the third one and being sad it’s over. This was the first series that made me feel that way. Now anytime I finish watching a series the bittersweet feeling of it being over is a Back to the Future moment. Oh btw, the calling chicken thing becomes so important in these movies that it feels like it was always there, but weirdly it’s not in the first one at all. No one calls Marty chicken until the second one
They establish the theme of Marty not being able to walk away from being called a coward very early and well in the second film and resolve it perfectly in BttF III. Marty's fragile pride and inability to avoid stupid conflict is a flipped problem of Georges inability to stand up for himself and others in the first movie.
@@chriskelly3481 the interesting thing is, it was probably a trait he developed _because_ of his dad too. growing up, seeing his dad never stand up for himself (even before the time travel) and living life as a doormat, probably (whether subconsciously or consciously) made marty determined that he would never be like that. that's why even in the first movie, although we never see him taunted and called chicken and have those moments where he goes back to prove the taunt wrong, he's still portrayed as an incredibly confident person always unafraid to confront bullies/assholes even when they're much bigger than him. it's honestly not a bad trait to have, the only problem was that like you said, it went too far on the opposite end of the spectrum from his dad and it developed into fragile pride, and he was unable to recognize when it _was_ the better idea to walk away from a fight and allow people to think poorly of you in that moment. obviously it was unintentional because when they made the first movie they hadn't been planning on any sequels, but they lucked out on setting it up perfectly anyway, since in the first movie that trait of marty's was never acted on improperly. the times he did stand up to the bullies were times he _did_ need to. when his mom was being harassed in the school cafeteria, when his dad was about to be beat up or kicked out at the cafe when he was trying to ask out lorraine. the trait only started getting toxic when he did it to preserve his own pride (being called a coward) rather than when he was standing up to defend friends/family. honestly just phenomenal writing that flows together so well even when it initially wasn't supposed to even exist! love this trilogy so much!
Cute story, Mary Steenburgen took this role because her kids wanted her to. When they heard she was offered a role in Back to the Future, they thought it was the coolest thing ever.
My favorite trilogy by far. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. Oh, and regarding the dog, dogs don't live for 30+ years. Young Doc Brown has a dog named Copernicus. Old Doc Brown has another dog named Einstein.
1955 Doc shakes his head at finding out Einstein is the name of his 1985 dog. Albert Einstein had actually passed away earlier in 1955., on April 18. His portraits in the living room in 1955 are of Isaac Newton, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Edison and Einstein. Close to his bed in the opening titles segment of the first film we see all portraits except the one of Newton. It's possible it was hanging higher up over the portrait of Einstein.
If you're wondering what happened after the three movies, there's the BTTF TV show, the game from Telltale Games (and the BTTF: The Ride as a bonus) I personally prefer the Game. I won't spoil the story, but for me this is the real part IV.
SPITTING OUT PELLETS: hunting for food meant that if you shot it, you brought it home to eat. if that meant that there was still a few shotgun pellets in it, you ate it and spit out the pellets. the wild west was nowhere near what tv portrayed it. in fact, the most realistic portrayal of it was Million Ways To Die In The West. everything tried to end you, and you just had to survive! so spitting out a few pellets in a bite if a game bird was small potatoes compared to the alternative WELLS FARGO: has an original old stage coach in Dubois Wyoming (where my old man lives) that they use for filming commercial spots. my old boss from ages ago owns the land that tons of the commercials are filmed on, where you see the stage coach with beautiful mountains in the background. a place called Duniour Valley, near Dubois. stunning place to live and work!
Great Reaction. I liked that you picked up on the moon walk. Not everyone from your generation understands that as a very popular dance from the 80s made famous by MJ. Also, in the 2nd movie, the Michael Jackson and Ronald Reagan "glitching" on the TVs in the diner was a nod toward a character known as Max Headroom from the 80s.
27:41 It was this movie's recurrent references to Jules Verne that lead _me_ to a brief interest in that futurist, and a subsequent insight about futurism in _general._ Consider how many of the patents in rocketry, the communications satellite, the powered submarine and such, appeared first as concepts in science _fiction_ before they were _patented._ Now the people who developed the _patents_ were very innovative _people,_ but the people who wrote these creative works of _fiction_ were very innovative people as _well._ If you read the books they wrote, you discover that they actually managed to solve most of the _technical_ problems involved in each of the breakthroughs in question. Now, consider that Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson and Dr. Michio Kaku are both physicists, set to the task of getting people interested in _science._ Dr. Kaku, though, has actually been working as a _futurist,_ and I would dare to say that _he's_ got the right idea.
The Michael Jackson bit in the 2nd movie was not a cooking show; it was supposed to be an artificial intelligence re-creation of Michael Jackson to fit the theme of the Cafe 80s (a nostalgia eatery available in 2015). There was also a Ronald Reagan avatar doing the same thing.
I just found this reaction channel, and you’ve made me sooo happy! Watching this with you reminds me so much of my first reactions to this trilogy! Except I was a kid when they were released, so I remember a few things that might even make your reaction experiences a little more interesting. When we watched the first Back to the Future Film when it was released, we really didn’t know that there ever WOULD be a sequel, even though the ending made it clear they wanted to make one. It wasn’t unusual for a film to hint at a sequel that never materialized. This was way before the internet, so we had to wait YEARS for the announcement confirming that they were releasing another film! Then they announced not just one but TWO sequels coming out in the same summer!! This just did not happen back then! We usually waited years between sequels (think of the 12 years between Star Wars and Return of the Jedi hitting the theaters). Part II and III were released a month apart…so we still had to wait 30 days to see the next part😆
I think there were 4 deloreans in 1955 too. the original, the one from 1885 in the cave, the one they took from the "new" 1985 that brought marty back and the one Biff stole all there at the same time technically.
Many claim that there are never all these four at the same time since the last one ends up in 1885, and thus into the cave, so late at Saturday night, when Biff has already left back to 2015 with the one he came in. But the way I figure it, when Doc in that counterpart of the car is sent back to 1885 a new timeline is created in which all the previous events will still happen/have happened. So from this timeline on, there will be a DeLorean in the cave since 1885 when Marty arrives on Nov 5, and the Doc and Marty, and later during the day - apparently - also Biff.
Loving the reaction so far! One thing I think about a lot when I watch these movies is the fact that they replay the end of the previous one - back then, really the only time you interacted with a movie was in the theater when it was released. If enough time passed, people could forget what happened in the last, so they give them a little refresher! It's a weird thing now, but it wouldn't have been weird back then!
It's that final time jump of the DeLorean that gets me...the buildup of the music, the sparks as the Flux Capacitor starts to kick in, that final pan to the destination date, and then WHOOOSH!
Great reactions! Watching someone enjoy BTTF for the first time is a great experience! Thank you for sharing your experience with this phenomenal trilogy. The second and third trilogies came out 6 months or so apart. The ending of part 2 had me vexed. The Movie book for BTTF 3 came out about a month ahead of actual movie. So I bought and read it. I had to know how it was possible. I was also 15. If you enjoyed Christopher Lloyd in this then I’d like to recommend another great movie from 1985. Clue The Movie. In it Lloyd plays Professor Plum. I look forward to seeing more of your reactions!
There are a lot of fun details that are fun to miss. In Back to the Future Part 2, in Biff's mansion, a scene was playing from "A Fistful of Dollars." Which is a Clint Eastwood Western where he won a duel by hiding a metal plate behind his poncho, the exact same way Marty did in Part 3 (and obviously, Clint Eastwood is the name Marty used). And remember when Marty tried that shootout game in 1885? Well it references Part 2, when he played the Western Shootout game in the Diner in 2015. Then at the end of Part 1, the Book George McFly published is based on his experience in 1955, specifically when Marty used the Hazmat suit in the middle of the night calling himself "Darth Vader from Vulcan." This Trilogy is well worth rewatching in order to catch the tiny details that tie the story together.
Terrific work on this wonderful trilogy. I love how you've handled it. IMPERATIVE SUGGESTION; If you liked "Tombstone", there is another movie that provides a more detailed and more historically accurate telling of the story - Kevin Costner's "Wyatt Earp". I much prefer it in all things except for the performance of the role of Doc Holliday. It must be said that everyone on the set of "Tombstone" was in awe of Val Kilmer's intense immersion into the character. Dennis Quaid's very good performance as Holliday has no hope of matching Val Kilmer's barely suppressed flamboyance of a man with nothing left to loose.
19:50 I love that you thought the music sounded really familiar. It is the same Back to the Future theme, with a few musical embellishments and different instrumentation to make it sound like a western. But it is the same chord progression and same (basic) melody. It is one of the easter eggs in the movie that only people with a very particular skill set would ever pick up on.
Yes the ginger Marty is his great great grandfather looking like one of your relatives is something that could happen. The only thing strange about this was that they made Leia Thompson be Marty's great great grandmother. They could have had her in the movie as a different person MJFs' girlfriend at the time could have played Maggie McFly that would have made some more sense
The more you watch these movies you will see so many more connections between the three films. It is one of the best, if not the best well thought out connected trilogy ever made. I had to wait for three movies to come out. It’s really interesting watching people watch them so close together. Thank you!
Regarding that bright purple dress you noted Clara wearing. Synthetic dyes had been around for less than 30 years when this takes place and purple (Mauvine) was the first one discovered. Given the slower propagation for culture at the time and somewhat remote nature of Hill Valley, a bright synthetic purple dress would probably have been fitting with Clara's interest in science. I have no idea if this was the intent or if someone just thought she looked good in purple.
Cool, glad you liked it! I remember watching these on video when I was a kid and they've always been some of my favorite movies from back then. There was a follow up Saturday morning cartoon series as well, but that didn't hold my interest as much as getting into gaming back then. These movies are something I recommend everyone watch at least once. It's a great way to see how people looked at the world and the future back then given how these movies were made before smart phones and before everyone had a computer at home.
If you want another iconic 80s movie with a deep coming of age story "Stand By Me" is a fantastic choice. If you want to be intellectually stimulated I'd love to see you react to my favorite movie "Inception." Either way I've enjoyed your reactions, thanks for posting them.
I'm a few months late in seeing this, but wanted to add some fun FYI. The train sequence finale was filmed at Railtown 1897 State Historic Park in Jamestown, California. An iconic location used for filming numerous westerns for decades! The old town set was built north of Keystone, California, west and south of Railtown. There are three of the train special effects smokestacks that were donated to the Railtown park for display also. One really cool place to visit if you like old trains.😉
I guess now you understand why many people love this trilogy. The cool thing is, every time we re-watch it, we pick up new things and tiny details you didn't notice before, like people, names, places, etc. Here's another Michael Jackson reference you missed out on: his album "thriller" came out in 1982 and became the best selling album in 1985, the same year the events of the movie take place. When Marty travels from 2015 to "alternate" 1985 and enters what he thinks is his old room, but actually now belongs to another family, the girl in the room (Loretta) is a fan of Michael Jackson, she has a small poster of the "Off the Wall" album (Michael's fifth album) and a big poster of the "Thriller" album (his sixth).
@@godmagnus I'm not saying they selected 1985 because of Michael Jackson, I'm saying they took advantage of Michael Jackson's rise to stardom by including him (or references of him) in the 2nd and 3rd movies. there are no references of him in the 1st movie.
I am so happy that her reaction video for part 3 is out, it feels like a long time since she released Back to the Future part 2 until now. I watched her reactions for part one and two several times waiting for her to do part 3 and I'm glad it's finally here. Even though she did not wear her Red Dead redemption part 2 outfit, I'm glad she's wearing a Back to the Future shirt, that's awesome!
That was a great reaction. I really enjoyed how invested you were in it! I love these movies, and I'm glad they now have a place in your heart. I like how the train that destroys the DeLorean doesn't stop afterwards. Places to be, etc. :D The back door being 'in the back' was a callback to the phone in the 1955 cafe being in the back.
Great reaction! Michael Jackson was into real healthy food for him and his children but unfortunately his sleep inducer failed him and he died in 2009. His comeback would've been great.
I saw all of these movies in the theater, from 1985 to 1990 and it’s amazing to see that people still haven’t seen this movie, and their reaction to how good this trilogy is. This is one of the absolute best trilogies in existence. And to think that, one, these movies almost didn’t get made, and two, they filmed most of the first movie with another actor (Eric Stoltz) and had to reshoot almost all of the scenes with MJF.
Michael Jackson didn't have a cooking show in the diner, aka Cafe 80s. He was an AI waiter in the style of Max Headroom, who was a fictional AI that debuted in the 80s.
13:32 "🤨 What is he spitting out?" ☺ Scattershot pellets. This is one of the rabbits Seamus _shot,_ earlier. Seamus used a _scattergun,_ and the rabbit has been _skinned_ and _cooked,_ but the pellets are still _there._ The idea was that people could just eat _around_ 'em. So far, in this movie, we've seen what a home-cooked meal looked like in 1985, the best guess at what a home-cooked meal _would_ look like in 2015, and now they're reminding us of what a home-cooked meal looked like back in 1885. Romantic, wasn't it?
Some things about the series stuff that you were discussing at the end. - The 1st movie was written as a standalone with a fun ending to show that the further adventures. The movie made so much the studio wanted it to be a trilogy. The crew was annoyed because they included Jennifer at the end when Doc and Marty were the only two they wanted, hence them knocking Jennifer out and getting rid of her from the story before the halfway point. - The 2nd and 3rd one were written together so all the connecting stuff there is very much on purpose. Teasing the cowboy stuff for #3 in multiple spots in Biff's hotel in #2 plus the intro of Needles among many other things. - MJ in the café was a waiter not on a cooking show. He's listing the menu items to buy there. - BttF does have additional stuff you can check out if you liked this: a Telltale game with Marty visiting young Doc in the prohibition era, an animated series with more Tannen's than you can shake a stick at and the excellent but no longer around ride from Universal Studios.
The movie is so full of references to western classics, the most spectacular being the train falling off the bridge in Buster Keaton's "The General" from 1926.
Some westerns for you to consider if you haven't seen them yet; 3:10 To Yuma Unforgiven Silverado Cowboys And Aliens Open Range and even though it's technically a comedy...City Slickers with Billy Crystal!!
Three topics: 1. So glad you enjoyed the movies. I was a bit surprised the amount of emotion they elicited. You really get immersed into whatever you are watching. 2. Michael J. Fox and Leah Thompson were my favorite actors at the time. Plus, I was into 50's music. So, I love this trilogy. 3. Movies are so expensive to make these days studios don't want to gamble on an original idea. They'd rather produce movies based on content that is popular in other mediums.
I love your reactions! You're very funny! The ending with the car race, you said Marty stood up to Needles... that's not it. Marty learned in the saloon when Buford was calling him out, not to get triggered when he was called chicken.
Incredible! I felt like I was looking at a mirror, with how much your reactions matched mine when I saw this movie! After Emmett closed the window and got ready to leave, I said out loud "Does it fly too??" Then as rose off the tracks, you could've peeled me off the ceiling, I was so estatic!!!
Awesome! I have to share this trivia. The two movie posters you can see at 9:53 are for the first two movies Clint Eastwood ever acted in, both from 1955.
I like the way they left it up to the viewer to decide if Marty became a rock star after avoiding the accident that caused him to not be able to become a rock star in the future.
Lots of Trivia, here's one. Michael J. Fox actually got strangled by the rope. The car accident at the end, it was mentioned in part 2 that he had an accident and could never play the guitar again. That was the first action that started Marty's downfall ( That Doc Brown never told him about), but also that he learned not to be intimidated by name calling ( yellow, chicken - you know what I mean). I'm going by memory so I might be incorrect. Enjoyed your reaction! Gonna watch more!
I love you so much Miranda, you're absolutely clueless but in the sweetest of ways. Everything about these movies flies right over your head! Lol. You are absolutely adorable. If you were my girl I would kiss you everyday on the nose. ❤🎉❤ Merry Xmas my love, hope you get everything your lil hearts desire! 😍🤗😘
And now you are in the club that gets chills from a few notes of music that'll instantly trigger all the memories of this journey. I won't spoil anything but there is a movie - pretty recent by Spielberg - which is giving all the feels for the members of this BTTF club :P You'll see when you get there, but for now bask in the enjoyment of a well told and well rounded story like no other. Thank you for the reaction!
With the Tannen, and Mcflys there’s a Back to the Future animated series in which Doc, his family, and Marty time travel, and meets ancestors & descendants of Biff & Marty.
This video was edited by my new editor!!! Obviously there will be some learning curves and adjustments going forward, so any respectful and constructive criticism is appreciated!
I hope you guys enjoy the last video in the Back to the Future trilogy!
There is a story about the hanging scene, Micheal J Fox almost died for REAL during the filming of that scene.

Your editor did great, I hardly noticed any difference :)
And they're all functional as cars, which is probably the highest servicability rate for DeLoreans at any point in history.

The Frisbee pie company was real, and their pie pans were indeed the inspiration for the Frisbee toy.
"Is there a problem with Earth gravity in the future?" XD
True friendship. One of the best scenes, showing the journey of doc and Marty.
I love his stand up bit, "The Question"
I liked him in Freaks and Geeks.
Everyone who knows him 😂😂😂 this isn't true about anybody
@@CleansHaven I’m sure that isn’t true about you, snowflake, I already don’t like you 😂 😂
11 years before making this movie, Mary Steenburgen (Clara) was in a film called Time After Time in which H.G.
Love that movie. Steenburgen actually married her co-star Malcolm McDowell.
I came here to recommend Time After Time, but you beat me to it.
@@bobbuethe1477 It's a fun film. I was careful to not say too much about it in case anyone wanted to check it out
That's a very interesting fun fact!
There are so many details that are easy to miss.
Marty had no knowledge of the cause of his accident. ONly Jennifer knew it was with the Rolls Royce
@@bobapjok4241 yes. i totally agree
Needles was played by Flea. From Red Hot Chili Peppers.
a bit ironic, Marvin Berry cut his hand trying to open the car trunk, causing Marty to have to play for the dance, then Marty hurts his hand that ends his music career.
As a 12 year old in 1990, seeing this finale in the cinema was unforgettable. That entire third act involving the train was a thrilling sequence, and it still holds up to this day.
I'm so glad you loved this conclusion. They really don't make movies like this anymore.
same story same age as you
Throw me on the pile, too. Crazy how that day stuck with me.
I used to watch this every time I had a sick day in grade school. I think it is one of the best trilogy ending movies ever
agreed! im only 2 years younger, and this remains for me the perfect film trilogy! it basically was one giant film that lasted like 7 hours that wrapped up in the most amazing way. they nailed it better than any trilogy im aware of, and that does include the tolkein things (as much as i absolutely adore hobbit and LOTR)
You realize, of course, that at some point they are inevitably going to reboot the franchise and _remake_ all three of them.
If we're really lucky, maybe they won't add zombies or superheroes to the script.
The stove door was a reference for the second part of the film. Biff watched a movie with Clint Eastwood there while sitting in jacuzzi.
The classic fìst full of dollars.
Minimizing any spoilers, there’s a stove door in that movie too.
Interestingly, we already have the technology to make this happen (deep fakes made with artificial neural networks can already imitate real people, dead or alive).
ya the wagons they used are based off the real WF wagons of 1880s, so it was very legit.
That makes Michael Jackson the first vtuber in fiction.
Fun fact, Doc dresses Marty for all 3 timelines.
I think there are many more things they did in all 3 timelines.
Uh, yeah. Anyone who has seen all 3 films, knows that.
and I think it's hilarious, Docs idea of a "western" was Roy Rogers (hence the "I didn't know the circus was in town" comment from the local yokel in the saloon)...where Marty has grown up with Clint Eastwood westerns Mind you they could have gone with Lee Marvin, or John Wayne too. But "Eastwood, CLINT Eastwood" line makes it all the funnier.
Frisbee pie plates/pans are actually the origin of the real world toy.
The three band players who made up the instrumental trio at the square dance in town was actually the blues group, ZZ Top, who were very famous in the 1980's. In the movie, they spin their instruments (a ZZ Top thing) to point out the Easter egg.
Dang, never knew! Thanks for that! Also, R.I.P Dusty, sadly didn't get to see them live ☹️
Also that was their song “Double Back” that they were playing
Texas Blues.
He only ran over one of the pines. Then the mall was named after the other one.
Marty: when you meet the right girl it justs hits you, it's like lightning
Doc : Marty, please don't say that
Holy shit. He was struck by lightning allowing him to meet his soulmate. That had to be on purpose.
"100 years ago??!! That's this year!!"
I don't know why but that's one of my favorite movie lines haha. When Doc pulls the train whistle, that wasn't scripted. They just kept it in the movie. That's why Marty has a more natural laugh right after.
That line is brilliant
Btw the reason Part II and Part III fit together so well is because they were actually filmed back-to-back, so any reference you find is 100% intentional, like for example: Marty's trick with the cast-iron oven door is inspired by a Clint Eastwood movie that Millionaire Biff actually watches in Part II.
Also, if you like adventure games, I can wholeheartedly recommend the Telltale Back to the Future game, funnily titled Back to the Future: The Game; it's really fun and feels like a whole new Back to the Future movie.
I don’t think you can buy telltale games anymore
Yeah that game was like a 4th movie. Loved it!

@@emeraldfinder5 You can, but not all of them. Telltale reopened under new management a year or two later. They weren't able to get the rights to all the games the old Telltale developed though. BTTF the Game was one they didn't get the rights to.

Michael Jackson didn’t have a cooking show in the diner, he was a waiter. He was explaining a dish to a customer.
I would totally watch a MJ cooking show tho
"Your future is whatever you make it. So make it a good one!" Always loved that line 🥰 . Also, the Micheal Jackson in the diner in the future was actually a virtual A.I. waiter listing the menu for customers.

The idea of Doc Brown showing up in the 21st century and asking the people at the hover conversion shop if they'll do a 200 year old Steam locomotive is just the best mental image ever.
And not only that. Those madlads of the hover conversion center left untouched the coal wagon, now totally unnecessary, only for the lulz.
@@Debbonair But in the timeline before Doc showed up, she would've fallen into the ravine and died because Doc wouldn't have been there to save her.
Well said
I cried at the end, knowing you were were seeing it for the first time. The delight and relief of those final payoffs was like experiencing them for the first time with your fresh reactions. They couldn't have ended it better.
Same here. :)
The love story for Doc is so wholesome 😭😭❤❤ Also: The actor Tomas F Wilson playing Biff/Mad Dog is actually a really nice and hillarious guy. He even has a youtube channel
Simply one of the best trilogies ever produced. Each installment is as good as the others. Amazing.
Thank goodness there will never be a reboot.
the story continues in Back To The Future: The Game.
I think my favorite one was:
The bandana that Doc is wearing, it's made from the shirt he was wearing at the end of BTTF2. Colors are almost completely gone by now, but you can still see the same exact cowboy pattern!
The Saturday morning cartoon picks up from here and continues the story, mostly focusing on Jules and Verne having adventures in time using the train
I rather enjoyed the cartoon. Read the comics as well. Written by the same writers of the movies so they really kept the vibe well.
And a rebuilt Delorean
Another fun fact, the 4 guys in the bar are veterans of many western movies and shows.
And the one that says, “Run for fun???” is Pat Buttram, who used to play Mr. Haney on Green Acres in 1966-70.
Imagine how small that circuit would be today. O.o
I so much enjoyed how much you enjoyed these movies. 😄
Wells Fargo was indeed one of the biggest and important companies in tie late 19th century.
There was an animated series that centered around Doc's family, the kids especially, and their time traveling adventures with Marty.
That and Rick and Morty are very loosely based on Doc and Marty. :P
My favorite trilogy by far. I'm so glad you're enjoying it. Oh, and regarding the dog, dogs don't live for 30+ years. Young Doc Brown has a dog named Copernicus. Old Doc Brown has another dog named Einstein.
I literally said out loud at the screen, "Are you suggesting that Einstein is a 30+ year old dog?".
If you're wondering what happened after the three movies, there's the BTTF TV show, the game from Telltale Games (and the BTTF: The Ride as a bonus)
I personally prefer the Game. I won't spoil the story, but for me this is the real part IV.
FYI the band is ZZ Top who also did the theme for this movie.
SPITTING OUT PELLETS: hunting for food meant that if you shot it, you brought it home to eat. if that meant that there was still a few shotgun pellets in it, you ate it and spit out the pellets. the wild west was nowhere near what tv portrayed it. in fact, the most realistic portrayal of it was Million Ways To Die In The West. everything tried to end you, and you just had to survive! so spitting out a few pellets in a bite if a game bird was small potatoes compared to the alternative
WELLS FARGO: has an original old stage coach in Dubois Wyoming (where my old man lives) that they use for filming commercial spots. my old boss from ages ago owns the land that tons of the commercials are filmed on, where you see the stage coach with beautiful mountains in the background. a place called Duniour Valley, near Dubois. stunning place to live and work!
27:41 It was this movie's recurrent references to Jules Verne that lead _me_ to a brief interest in that futurist, and a subsequent insight about futurism in _general._ Consider how many of the patents in rocketry, the communications satellite, the powered submarine and such, appeared first as concepts in science _fiction_ before they were _patented._
Now the people who developed the _patents_ were very innovative _people,_ but the people who wrote these creative works of _fiction_ were very innovative people as _well._ If you read the books they wrote, you discover that they actually managed to solve most of the _technical_ problems involved in each of the breakthroughs in question.
So happy to have another "friend in time!" Watching this was a lot of fun!
The Colt Firearms sales guy is also in Blazing Saddles.
HOLY 💩! I’M IN LOVE ❤️❤️❤️😍!!! When you were calling out the speed “69! Giggity!” As soon as you reopen Patreon I’m signing up!
Then at the end of Part 1, the Book George McFly published is based on his experience in 1955, specifically when Marty used the Hazmat suit in the middle of the night calling himself "Darth Vader from Vulcan."
This Trilogy is well worth rewatching in order to catch the tiny details that tie the story together.
"He just got carjacked . . . by a bear!" 🚗🤣🐻
also the Bear is the state animal for the California flag where the BTTF movies take place.
“I just hope there’s no Biff in 1885.”
There’s no Biff, but there is a Buford.
Purple was also an extremely expensive color before that. Often worn only by royalty. Some people even call it the color of royalty.
The movie came out in 1985, it wasn't set there as a reference to anything.
@@godmagnus I'm not saying they selected 1985 because of Michael Jackson, I'm saying they took advantage of Michael Jackson's rise to stardom by including him (or references of him) in the 2nd and 3rd movies. there are no references of him in the 1st movie.
Your joy watching these old movies makes me want to watch your reacts more. This is the way I felt watching them in the theaters when the came out.
Your reaction to the 3 movies were hands down the best of all TH-cam. Enjoyed a lot! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷!
You should definitely play the Back to the Future TellTale game on your other channel. Many, myself included, consider it to be the fourth movie.
Definitely! Awesome game & would make a great reaction series.
big meh
Settle down nerd
PS4 game back to the future
Michael Jackson didn't have a cooking show in the diner, aka Cafe 80s. He was an AI waiter in the style of Max Headroom, who was a fictional AI that debuted in the 80s.
I’m very proud of you for watching the whole trilogy and loving it!
Fun fact, during the hanging scene, one of the tales, Michael actually WAS literally hanging!
The rope slipped a safety catch and almost killed him.
Crazy to think that this trilogy being almost 40/35 years old is STILL able to have such a profound impact on peaple.
13:32 "🤨 What is he spitting out?"
☺ Scattershot pellets.
I have been watching this trilogy over the last 25 years. Time traveling hoverboard is the coolest thing I have ever heard.
Some westerns for you to consider if you haven't seen them yet;
3:10 To Yuma
Unforgiven
Silverado
Cowboys And Aliens
Open Range
and even though it's technically a comedy...City Slickers with Billy Crystal!!
Three topics:
13:27 "What is he spitting out? Pellets?" Buckshot from the gun that was used when hunting for the meal.
Too small for buckshot. I'd say standard birdshot.
@@claytonhess5512 You're probably right. Buckshot is likely to have been too big for the small game he was hunting.
I love your reactions! You're very funny! The ending with the car race, you said Marty stood up to Needles... that's not it. Marty learned in the saloon when Buford was calling him out, not to get triggered when he was called chicken.
The trick Marty uses of putting the stove door in his shirt to stop the bullet, was actually used by Clint Eastwood in one of his movies.
The Telltale Back to the future game is like part 4, might wanna check it out.
Your reactions to these 3 movies might be the best reactions I have ever seen, and not just
for Back to the Future, but in general 🙂
Incredible! I felt like I was looking at a mirror, with how much your reactions matched mine when I saw this movie!
After Emmett closed the window and got ready to leave, I said out loud "Does it fly too??" Then as rose off the tracks, you could've peeled me off the ceiling, I was so estatic!!!
The ending on those movies always bring tears to my eyes
The hot tub scene in the part 2, Biff was watching a western. That's where Marty got the bullet proof vest idea.
I won't spoil anything but there is a movie - pretty recent by Spielberg - which is giving all the feels for the members of this BTTF club :P
You'll see when you get there, but for now bask in the enjoyment of a well told and well rounded story like no other.
Thank you for the reaction!
With the Tannen, and Mcflys there’s a Back to the Future animated series in which Doc, his family, and Marty time travel, and meets ancestors & descendants of Biff & Marty.
Saw the RDR2 poster in the background, very nice! Subbed and liked. Oh... and Tombstone is in my top five favorite movies!
